About

"To be honest my vibe gets killed the most when I'm concentrating too much on what is around me and thinking too much about it all," Moore states. "I have the most fun when I let my inhibitions check out, right at that point things just start to happen."

It started to go well for Sonny when he filtered out the noise and distraction of his world as a solo artist and started mining the ephemeral moments he had been sharing with friends in clubs and parties across the city he calls home since his mid-teen years. The restless, urgent and kaleidoscopic sounds of EDM and bass music had spoken to him for the best part of a decade, one day he just started talking back.

"Making music is the same as DJing," he offers. "You continue along the path that leaves you most inspired. When you think too much you put limits on what is possible, the best parts are always instinctual rather than something too considered or planned out."

  • Intense RAGER

    by jag681 on 7/15/11Beaumont Club - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

This was an incredible show. Skrillex is awesome. There was plenty of room to chill out when you needed a break from the huge rager going on near the stage. I would go back any time.

Skrillex was awesome and so was porter robinson, the only thing that got to me was the security of the pageant were really strict and just seemed like they wanted to expand something little into you getting kicked out, an example is my friend accidentally walked through the bar to get to the other side and he got kicked out when he asked someone to escort him because he wanted to get to us since we lost each other in the mosh, here security gets a 1 star from me, there lucky to even get that.

  • Skrillex, Zedd, and Porter Robinson were crazy!!!!

by Skrilllllllleeeeeexxxxx on 7/14/11The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Got there at 7:00, show started at 8, so there was another guy playing at the start. He wasn't very good but then Zedd came up and stuff started to pick up. Porter Robinson had some of the craziest bass drops. But Skrillex made the place go nuts, ending his act with a stage dive on a blow up shark. Hahah

The set mainly consisted of Skrillex jumping around on stage and twisting a few knobs every once in a while. You are paying to watch him bounce around on stage and press play on his Mac. That said, I had a great time and the dancing was great after a few drinks.

Incredible show. Danced the whole time and the openners were fantastic as well.

  • AMAZING

by SuperJam on 7/14/11The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

I've never seen so much energy at a concert generated by one person! Skrillex commanded the audience and made the experience unforgettable! If he comes to your town don't miss out he was incredible.

  • A must have experience.

Skrillex will get you addicted to the awesome-ness that is electronic music live.

  • Skrillex will blow your mind with his sounds!

by Strudel10 on 7/13/11House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Some music can't be made with instruments! His producing abilities are incredible. I recommend listening to all his music before attending a concert because you will understand what he is doing much more clearer. The switches, the builds and the drops all combine for a mind blowing experience.

  • This show left a lot to be desired.

by TheSnootiestJet on 7/13/11House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 2 out of 5

This is the first show I've ever left disappointed. The venue was very bright as far as ambient light and the performers' light shows sucked, frankly. Drinks were obnoxiously expensive (although, this is to be expected in AC) and staff was not very courteous. Skrillex's set was easily the shortest I've ever seen, running from approximately 11:30pm to 1:15am. Despite its length, the set was good. He dropped a lot of new stuff, mixed up some of the classics, and sampled songs from Doctor P, Bassnectar, Rusko, Flux Pavilion and more.

  • EPIC NIGHT!!!

by DoctorMacich on 7/12/11Water Street Music Hall - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

Even though the 2 opening acts were a little too long for my liking, they were both good and Skrillex was worth the wait! The crowd was fantastic and was incredibly energetic. I'll never forgot how epic the drops were all night long! Skrillex really appreciated the crowd and his fans and thanked us repeated! It was everything I hoped for and more in my first dubstep/ electronic concert!!! I would HIGHLY recommend seeing him to anyone who enjoys any kind of music in that genre.

not too much to say really, skrillex is just great and that is that. his set looks awesome, music is loud as hell and always banging. see him any chance you get.

  • Skrillex ftw!

by whatthenutt on 7/12/11House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

The show was great, and all of the openers kicked ass!! House of Blues was a decent venue but a lot of big pillar things blocking your view depending on where you stood. My biggest issue was that it was an all age event... NEVER AGAIN. Too many kids, teenyboppers running around being obnoxious and lying about their age. Most importantly, Skrillex killed it and the show was incredible. =)

  • awesome but who were the openers?

by thatguy123456789 on 7/11/11House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Skrillex was so awesome. whole show was amazing. but no where online can i find the names of the three opening djs. does anyone know?

  • Skrillex was DIRTY

by RVargyai1 on 7/11/11House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

This was such an amazing show, it was sold out but still not too crowded. His set was incredible, he played a bunch of new songs as well as everyone's favorites. My only complaints were that the security guards wouldn't allow glow sticks and he had 4 openers (who were good) but he didn't come on until after midnight. Other than that, it was worth every penny and then some.

  • Security Staff ruined the experience.

by RobynD1990 on 7/11/11House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

The performers themselves were great however the security was rude, abusive, disruptive, and ridiculously tough. I was trying to enjoy the music but I would get a flashlight shined right in my eyes every 30 seconds! I understand safety but there were a few times were security just wanted to pound their chest and feel important. Almost ruined the show!! House of Blues should train their security better.
