SIX is the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical that tells the story of the six wives of Henry VIII — reimagining the Tudor queens as powerful pop divas. Led by an all-female cast, SIX presents the queens as pop stars, with each recounting their story while channeling modern pop acts as they make the case for who was dealt the worst hand. SIX was written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss when the two were studying at Cambridge University. By the summer of 2017, SIX was being staged at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland. After a sold-out run on London’s West End, SIX premiered on Broadway in October 2021 (with Moss becoming the youngest female director working on a Broadway musical). The herstory musical was an immediate hit, with The New York Times noting how the pop production “totally rules,” and The Washington Post hailing SIX as “exactly the kind of energizing, inspirational illumination this town aches for.”
SIX is performed at the Lena Horne Theatre at 256 West 47th Street in the Theater District of Midtown Manhattan, New York, between Broadway and 8th Avenue. Individual and group tickets for the show are available through Ticketmaster and the Lena Horne Theatre box office.
Be sure to add SIX to your favorites on Ticketmaster.com or the Ticketmaster app to get important alerts about tickets. (Download the Ticketmaster app for iPhone or Android.)
Group bookings to see SIX require a minimum purchase of 10 tickets.
The recommended age for children to see SIX is 10 and up. Children five and under are not permitted into the Lena Horne Theatre. All patrons — regardless of age — must have a ticket.
At one hour and 20 minutes and no intermission, SIX has the shortest running time of any musical currently on Broadway.
Fans of SIX call themselves the “Queendom” and often appear at SIX performances cosplaying as their favorite queen.
The current cast of SIX may include Hailee Kaleem Wright as Catherine of Aragon, Leandra Ellis-Gaston as Anne Boleyn, Bella Coppola as Jane Seymour, Nasia Thomas as Anna of Cleves, Zoe Jensen as Katherine Howard and Taylor Iman Jones as Catherine Parr.
Alternate cast members may include Marilyn Caserta, Ayla Ciccone-Burton, Holli' Conway, Kristina Leopold and Aubrey Matalon.
“Six” exceeded our expectations. Very entertaining, more intimate venue. Very talented cast and band. Way to go, ladies!
What a delightful way to tell the stories of these 6 women and their famous husband! The history sited was interesting and the moment of realization that they all were bonded by their strength was powerful. Language was not an issue. The costumes were great (not immodest). Not period related but definitely suited to each Queen. It was an uplifting experience. The talent of each person on stage and “behind the stage” was phenomenal. I’d see this again. I’m so glad my granddaughter chose it for us to see on her high school graduation trip. The theater was clean, comfortable with great seats everywhere. The staff was great as well. I’ll take more people to see this one. Highly recommended.
My 14 year olds words to me “Mamma, this was the best weekend of my life!” - her words and the look in her eyes Madea my heart happy. It was her very first Broadway experience and what a treat it was. I know she’s developed a love for the arts now and she will enjoy many more seasons to come. The energy and the performances of each Queen individually and cohesively was astounding. Every song, lyric and melody forever etched in our brains. ❤️👑👑👑👑👑👑❤️
How much fun! Took my 84 year old mother and, while worried it would be too loud for her, because of the content and her interest in history in general, she loved it! Ridiculously clever lyrics and fantastic all female cast and orchestra.
A must see show! I was smiling ear to ear the whole time.
What a great show! If you are looking for a fun big energy show then this is it. Perfect for a girls night or date night ... you just can't go wrong
Awesome show!!!! Music is great. Show is funny and very entertaining. Not a bad seat in the theater.
Great show, high energy and fun! Time flew by as the "queens" told their stories. Talented cast!
First off, I didn’t know what to expect from the show, but let me say without hesitation that this was a sensational show. The singing and dancing was phenomenal!!! Glad I was able to see it before it leaves the city.
Went with my two grown daughters, my best friend and her grown daughter - we all loved it! The music is great and the storyline has a lot of history in it (and humor). Highly recommend others go see this!
Worth it to head all the way to NYC and deal with the 5 hours of traffic!
SIX on Broadway is a captivating and energetic production that showcases exceptional singing and dancing talents. The performances of the cast members are nothing short of phenomenal, delivering powerful vocal performances and dazzling choreography that leaves the audience in awe. However, beneath the glittering surface, the show's writing ultimately proves to be its Achilles' heel, leaving the overall experience somewhat forgettable. From the moment the curtains rise, SIX grabs your attention with its modern twist on historical figures. The concept of portraying the six wives of Henry VIII as pop divas, each with her own unique personality, is undeniably creative and engaging. The musical arrangements are infectious, blending contemporary and period styles to create a fresh and catchy sound. The synergy between the talented cast members is evident as they effortlessly harmonize and execute intricate dance routines. The highlight of SIX is undoubtedly the incredible vocal performances. The cast members possess remarkable vocal prowess, hitting impressive high notes and belting out powerful solos with ease. Their ability to infuse each character with distinct vocal styles and personalities adds depth and dimension to the production. The harmonies are tight, and the vocal arrangements showcase the cast's immense talent. The choreography in SIX is a visual feast. The energetic and precise dance routines complement the music seamlessly, enhancing the overall experience. The performers' enthusiasm and skill are palpable, injecting the show with an infectious energy that spreads throughout the audience. The coordination and synchronization on stage are commendable, making for an engaging spectacle that keeps the audience captivated. Regrettably, where SIX falls short is in its writing. While the concept of empowering the six wives and giving them a voice is admirable, the show struggles to maintain a consistent and compelling narrative. The script lacks depth and fails to provide a fully satisfying exploration of the characters' stories and motivations. The attempts at humor and wit often fall flat, relying heavily on clichés and one-dimensional characterizations. Additionally, the pacing of the show feels rushed, with each wife's story condensed into a short vignette. This prevents the audience from forming a strong emotional connection with the characters, leaving them wanting more substance and development. The lack of a central plot arc or meaningful character growth leaves the production feeling disjointed and superficial. Despite its flaws, SIX on Broadway is an entertaining spectacle that showcases the immense talent of its cast. The singing and dancing performances alone make it a memorable experience, and the concept itself is undeniably intriguing. However, the shortcomings in the writing prevent the show from reaching its full potential, resulting in a production that, while enjoyable, ultimately fails to leave a lasting impression. In summary, if you're looking for a dazzling display of vocal prowess and energetic choreography, SIX delivers in spades. Just be prepared for a show that, despite its brilliance in performance, falls short in its writing and fails to leave a lasting impact.
A fast moving, fun musical showcasing a torrid family story among different musical styles. There are definitely some adult only jokes peppered throughout, so be aware if you’re bringing the kids. It goes quickly and you’ll be moving to the beat throughout the show. Fabulous all-female cast and band.
been a fan of the show since it debuted, and seeing it live was everything i hoped for and more. the cast is crazy talented, the music is awesome, and its super funny! absolutely loved it
