About

SIX is the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical that tells the story of the six wives of Henry VIII — reimagining the Tudor queens as powerful pop divas. Led by an all-female cast, SIX presents the queens as pop stars, with each recounting their story while channeling modern pop acts as they make the case for who was dealt the worst hand. SIX was written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss when the two were studying at Cambridge University. By the summer of 2017, SIX was being staged at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland. After a sold-out run on London’s West End, SIX premiered on Broadway in October 2021 (with Moss becoming the youngest female director working on a Broadway musical). The herstory musical was an immediate hit, with The New York Times noting how the pop production “totally rules,” and The Washington Post hailing SIX as “exactly the kind of energizing, inspirational illumination this town aches for.”

    Great night of song

by Jimmy Sax on 2/21/20Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

Six tells the story of Henry the eighth‘s six wives. The six actors voices are some of the best I’ve heard in an ensemble and as soloists in a long time. The tight harmonies were spot on their solo efforts were amazing and the band accompanied each “wife” to a T highly recommended

These Queens know how to sing!

by Korker on 2/20/20Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

We arrived 30 min before curtain and the line was wrapped around an entire block! It was a packed house, standing room only! I have been listening to the original cast recording from the West End and loving it. I was a tad bit nervous about seeing it live because there was quite a bit of studio editing and some auto tuning. I had also seen a video of the performance from the Olivier Awards that was underwhelming. Well, I have to say the American girls brought it! The vocals were fantastic and the energy contagious! It was also very cool to see and all female band on stage (also in costume) & the youngest female director on Broadway! I have a feeling this show will be a hot ticket very soon! I’m glad I had the opportunity to see it in previews!

    A DELIGHT

by Nic on 2/19/20Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

This show is possibly the most fun I've ever had on Broadway! I learned, I laughed, it's possible I cried a little, and honestly I can't wait to do it all again!

    Amazing musical

by Bill on 2/19/20Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

This show was so good I already bought a ticket to see it a second time. The voices of the six women on stage were better than any pop star. See this show before it sells out for years to cone.

I would see this at every opportunity

by BroadwayBaby on 2/18/20Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

Six the musical is one of the best shows I have seen on Broadway. It manages to combine the high energy of a rock concert with a subtle British history lesson. The lives of these women were not their own but the performances show their strengths - and weaknesses- so each becomes an individual in our eyes. Fun, modern and irreverent with fantastic music that will stay with you. Winner!!

    Words not clear

by Cubby on 2/18/20Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

The costumes, music, and dancing were great. However, I was on the fourth row center, and I couldn't understand ninety per cent of the lyrics. The actresses held their microphones so that I couldn't see any of their mouths and therefore couldn't even lipread the lyrics. The director of the show needs to correct this problem. I would not recommend the show for the above reason. I felt that I had wasted my money. I actually knew the stories of the six wives and still couldn't understand the lyrics.

We saw the show on its 3rd night in NYC and it was everything we thought it would be and more. Have loved the music for years but the humor in the show helped tie everything together.

    Wonderful, Uplifting Show

by LSM on 2/17/20Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

Female empowerment, Rock/Hip-Hop musical reliving the lives of each of King Henry VIII's ill-fated wives. Wonderful voices. Fast-paced. Fun, charming and with no small dose of pathos. Songs most memorable in the moment, but does not take away from a night of sheer enjoyment.
