About

SIX is the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical that tells the story of the six wives of Henry VIII — reimagining the Tudor queens as powerful pop divas. Led by an all-female cast, SIX presents the queens as pop stars, with each recounting their story while channeling modern pop acts as they make the case for who was dealt the worst hand. SIX was written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss when the two were studying at Cambridge University. By the summer of 2017, SIX was being staged at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland. After a sold-out run on London’s West End, SIX premiered on Broadway in October 2021 (with Moss becoming the youngest female director working on a Broadway musical). The herstory musical was an immediate hit, with The New York Times noting how the pop production “totally rules,” and The Washington Post hailing SIX as “exactly the kind of energizing, inspirational illumination this town aches for.”

    A must see

by Broadway lover on 1/22/24Lena Horne Theatre - New York

This is a fantastic “show.” It’s not a traditional Broadway show but it has fantastic singing, is funny and keeps you wanting more. I did not want it to end!

Where was the rest of the show?

by Irishwitchy on 1/20/24Lena Horne Theatre - New York

I knew the show was short and so very glad we got 2 for 1 tickets. The voices were great, but I thought a lot could have been added to make it a complete story. My husband didn’t really like it. A bunch of screaming women, Henry obviously felt the same.

    Didn’t like it at all

    by Broadwaylover on 1/17/24

What a waste of money. It was just a concert, not a broadway musical

    Not my taste

by Cathy D on 1/16/24Lena Horne Theatre - New York

Not my cup of tea. No scenery or costume change. No intermission. A bit drab and boring for my tastes. Lacking in drama and interest. No storyline at all which I'm used to having. Music was good but would pass on the rest. My 30 year old kids loved it, however.

    Six the EVENT

by Bus Dude on 1/16/24Lena Horne Theatre - New York

SIX was an unexpected home run. I wasn't expecting the exhilarating performance that these ladies gave. The live band was certainly a plus. Thought I was at a concert. Highly recommend this play.

Good talent but not much to the show

by ChrisMM on 12/26/23Lena Horne Theatre - New York

The ladies were amazing, great presence and wonderful voices. There was little to no props or action background, only them singing which left me wanted more.

    Cute, but….

by LT on 12/19/23Lena Horne Theatre - New York

If you are looking for a Broadway production that blows you away… this is not the show. Six is an eighty minute, cheeky good time with zero set/ costume changes. So, be mindful of how much cash to spend for the experience.

I just saw this amazing show for the second time! (I had to bring my mom to see it) Absolutely loved it again. The talents of singing, dancing, acting, ladies in waiting (band) were all fabulous. Great interaction with the audience. I highly recommend that you book tickets to see this show. You won't be disappointed.

    Average

by JL on 11/27/23Lena Horne Theatre - New York

I appreciate the talent and effort put into the production. It just isn’t on the level of a Les Miz, Wicked or Phantom of the Opera.

    The perfect musical DOES exist

by Jane Seymour on 11/14/23Lena Horne Theatre - New York

90 minutes of fun. Great costumes, make up, set, songs, band, story. What’s not to love? The leading ladies were pure genius. Singing, dancing, and hot to boot. It’s over the top in every way. I took my son for his sixth birthday and he was enthralled. Any of the racier lines /language went over his head, of course. I could imagine certain people would find this inappropriate, crude or tacky. I am not that person! Recommend reading the playbill before the show for history which adds to the show. No intermission so use the restroom before you sit down.

    Refreshing history

by ME on 11/11/23Lena Horne Theatre - New York

We all know about the red headed King Henry VIII and his 6 wives but this is not about him but rather THEM! Having just finished the trilogy of Cromwell this amazing 80 minutes gave the women personalities that were spot on! Still can’t pick a favorite! But nor should I have to!
