About

Originating from Gainesville, FL, Sister Hazel is comprised of five gifted, seasoned musicians whose well-spring of natural talent has been called "one of the Top 100 Most Influential Independent Performers of the last 15 years" by Performing Songwriter Magazine. Song "All for You" topped the adult alternative charts during the summer of 1997 and the success propelled their album to platinum status.

In their first showing on the country music charts they made a strong debut with "Lighter In The Dark" at #4 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, #6 on Billboard's Independent Albums chart, #30 on Billboard's Top Current Albums chart.

The band landed on Billboard's Top Country Albums Chart again in 2018 and 2019 with Volumes I, II, III, and IV of a clever EP compilation series titled "Elements."   In February 2018, "Water," landed on the Billboard Country Albums chart at #9 and at #2 on Billboard's Independent Albums chart along with making their debut on the most revered stage in country music, the Grand Ole Opry. In September of 2018, "Wind" landed at #1 on iTunes country page and #11 on Billboard's Independent Albums chart. In February 2019, Vol. III "Fire" landed at #5 on Billboard's Independent Albums chart and #46 Billboard's Top Country Albums Chart. The collectible compilation series ended with "Earth" which again landed at on the charts at #15 on Billboard's Americana/Folk Album chart.

Living up to their fan-centered reputation, the band hosts annual events like "Hazelnut Hang," that focuses on fan involvement and was a pioneer in themed cruise experiences by co-founding "The Rock Boat," a cruise featuring nonstop opportunities for fan/artist interaction. Sister Hazel has been equally attentive to connecting with their audience through social media. They have since made their Grand Ole Opry debut and shared the stages with country music superstars at The CMA Festival, Tortuga Music Festival, among others. In addition to the events and touring, the band also gives back with "Lyrics For Life." Founded by singer Ken Block and the Band, the charity unites musicians and celebrities for concerts and auctions to benefit cancer research and patient-care charities.

Sister Hazel & opening acts were great!

by crj2kjj on 8/24/09Center Stage Theatre - Atlanta

This was my first Sister Hazel show and they were awesome. We really enjoyed the opening acts as well. Golden and I think Sarah Kelly were the two openers. I would definitely see Golden on their own. SH rocked and brought heir awesome harmonies. Great show!!!

    Good Time at Sister Hazel

by CabbyG on 8/23/09Center Stage Theatre - Atlanta

Sister hazel once again did a great show. The venue was perfect for an intimate feeling with the band and there is no bad seat in the house. Wish for some more old stuff and covers but the new album just dropped so I understand the push. Having Vinyl next door made for a good time after the concert. Hopefully Chastain will come back into the touring schedule but Center Stage is a great venue too.

    Awesome

by Nick13 on 8/23/09Center Stage Theatre - Atlanta

My first time at Center Stage and my first time seeing Sister Hazel live. Could have done without the openers, but that is often the case in any concert. SH sounds as good live or better than they do on CD. Well worth it! My wife and I will see them again, but would love to see them in an outdoor venue like Chastain.

    Sister Hazel Wows Again

by Eaglevol33 on 8/23/09Center Stage Theatre - Atlanta

This show was incredible! It's rare that a band sounds as good live as they do on a CD.

Great music, FUN show, incredible venue!

by GSCEagle on 8/23/09Center Stage Theatre - Atlanta

One of the aspects of Sister Hazel that makes them so good is that they sound just as good live as they do on their CD. Guitarist Ryan Newell and bassist Jett Beres both provided enjoyable displays of their trade that sounded just as good as it looked. Even better, for the kids at the front of the stage, the kids got a chance to interact with them several times. Since I am both a big fan of the band as well as a parent of two of the kids that got to interactact (hand shakes, taps, etc) with Ryan and Jett, I know what an impact it had one the kids. As for vocals, Ken Block and Drew Copeland were spot on, harmonizing just as well in person as they do on the CD. On "Champaigne High", the entire band gets together for a beautiful finish. BTW, the value of the show to the ticket price is INCREDIBLE! We paid $75 to see a tier one act recently that put on a tired, bored show and left you feeling like you just wasted $75. At $21 a pop, the show was well worth it! Also enjoyable was the interaction between the band and the crowd. Whereas some bands lead you to feel that you're fortunate to be spending time with them, Sister Hazel interacts with the crowd and makes you feel like they want to be there with you! This may be an act, which, if it is, is some of the best acting Hollywood could ever produce. However, it appears genuine and the bands energy and their appreciation of the crowd flows non-stop from the beginning to the end of the show. As for the venue, Center Stage is incredible. Sitting for the old farts and up close interaction for the hip/cool/whatever they refer to themselves. See Sister Hazel! You owe it to yourself. And if you live in Atlanta, check out Center Stage and catch a show there!!

    Sister Hazel was pretty good

by dryan40 on 8/23/09Center Stage Theatre - Atlanta

This was my third SH show in as many years. This was the first show where there a warm-up act, or two! Sara Kelly and the Golden opened. Neither were terrible, but not memorable either. Sister Hazel was predictable in their song choice that spanned their earliest hits to this month's Release. Ken Block has without a doubt one of the best vocals in the business. The guys were tight and played off one another very well. Not a disappointing show, but not a memorable one either.

    Sister Hazel and Golden soared!

by TuffyATL on 8/23/09Center Stage Theatre - Atlanta

The venue was good -- full event. Long lines for booze (understandable) and great music! The first act was kind of a buzzkill -- talented girl, sad music. Golden came on then and did a great job - never heard of them but picked em up off iTunes. Sister Hazel came out and was very interactive and associated with the audience -- and of course ROCKED OUT! Definitely glad I was able to make it to see them this time!

    Sister Hazel is AWESOME!!!

by lasswithsass on 7/4/09Fine Line Music Cafe - Minneapolis

As always Sister Hazel was fantastic!! I just love them. Unfortunately, the seats I purchased were overpriced for what I got and weren't located where I expected them to be. Ended up leaving our $80 seats to go down to the $22 area and had a much better view. But, all in all Sister Hazel performed wonderfully as always and can't wait to see them again.

the fine line is the best place to see a show in the twin cities, suprisingly small and intimate with great food and service. sister hazel was excellent: personable, skilled musicians and excellent songwriters, they never fail to please. i would recommend them to anyone who loves great indie pop. the venue is also highly recommended.

    Great feel good night!

by Quinn on 7/2/09Fine Line Music Cafe - Minneapolis

Sister Hazel is an amazing group of guys. They are extremely polite and nice and really play to the crowd. The venue was small, so everyone was able to be super close to the stage. The band was posing for pictures and shaking people's hands--it was a wonderful experience. Musically, they were excellent. From their hits to their new songs, they gave it their all, and the crowd loved it.
