About

Originating from Gainesville, FL, Sister Hazel is comprised of five gifted, seasoned musicians whose well-spring of natural talent has been called "one of the Top 100 Most Influential Independent Performers of the last 15 years" by Performing Songwriter Magazine. Song "All for You" topped the adult alternative charts during the summer of 1997 and the success propelled their album to platinum status.

In their first showing on the country music charts they made a strong debut with "Lighter In The Dark" at #4 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, #6 on Billboard's Independent Albums chart, #30 on Billboard's Top Current Albums chart.

The band landed on Billboard's Top Country Albums Chart again in 2018 and 2019 with Volumes I, II, III, and IV of a clever EP compilation series titled "Elements."   In February 2018, "Water," landed on the Billboard Country Albums chart at #9 and at #2 on Billboard's Independent Albums chart along with making their debut on the most revered stage in country music, the Grand Ole Opry. In September of 2018, "Wind" landed at #1 on iTunes country page and #11 on Billboard's Independent Albums chart. In February 2019, Vol. III "Fire" landed at #5 on Billboard's Independent Albums chart and #46 Billboard's Top Country Albums Chart. The collectible compilation series ended with "Earth" which again landed at on the charts at #15 on Billboard's Americana/Folk Album chart.

Living up to their fan-centered reputation, the band hosts annual events like "Hazelnut Hang," that focuses on fan involvement and was a pioneer in themed cruise experiences by co-founding "The Rock Boat," a cruise featuring nonstop opportunities for fan/artist interaction. Sister Hazel has been equally attentive to connecting with their audience through social media. They have since made their Grand Ole Opry debut and shared the stages with country music superstars at The CMA Festival, Tortuga Music Festival, among others. In addition to the events and touring, the band also gives back with "Lyrics For Life." Founded by singer Ken Block and the Band, the charity unites musicians and celebrities for concerts and auctions to benefit cancer research and patient-care charities.

    Sister Hazel was SMOKIN'!!!

by LLCampos on 9/19/09Curtis M Phillips Center for Performing Arts - Gainesville

This hometown Hazel show was the best one I've been to yet! With the stories the guys tell, the great playlist selected, a best of all, a surprize appearance by Stan Lynch (former drummer with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers) who sat in on drums for one song and guitar for another. That really made it special. Along with that, the venue actually let us stand up and dance in the aisles and stuff for the first time. It was totally ROCKIN'!

    Hazel rocked HOB as usual

by NCHazelnut on 9/8/09House of Blues Myrtle Beach - Myrtle Beach

I am rather biased because I am a Hazelnut but I can tell you that the HOB venue made a substantial difference having recently attended a Sister Hazel show in Greensboro at a subpar venue. HOB made the evening very enjoyable.

My 12 year old nephew's first concert!

by RNRWaitress on 9/8/09House of Blues Myrtle Beach - Myrtle Beach

This will always be an unforgettable show because it was the very first concert my 12 year old nephew has ever seen. I have seen Sister Hazel several times in the past, and know them to be a fun, feel good band that everyone can enjoy. So I got tickets to take my Aunt for her 56th birthday. When I realized my nephew was also going to be with us, I knew this would be a fabulous family event and a great way for us all to celebrate together. There was no cursing, no out of line audience members, even no smoking at the House of Blues...just good, clean fun, and awesome musicianship and music. Plus, my nephew was mesmerized, and it will be a show he will never forget. Thank you so much, Sister Hazel!

    Union County was AMAZING!!!

by poodleduck on 9/8/09House of Blues Myrtle Beach - Myrtle Beach

From the first chord this duo exuded an energy and enthusiasm that was contagious, and lasted throughout the entire set! Steve Thompson has a very relaxed demeanor on stage and an ability to connect with the audience and draw them into the music. Their music was upbeat, uplifting, and full of great lyrics. This group is now one of my NEW FAVORITES!!! I think they will be around for a long time. I can't wait to hear them again soon!!!!!

Sister Hazel, Golden and Union COunty

by KatieWomansMom on 9/7/09House of Blues Myrtle Beach - Myrtle Beach

The show was great!! Union County opened and WOW! Sister Hazel was amazing! We took our 2 daughters and they loved it! Sister Hazel is a special group - they performed a free concert in August at a school for adults with special needs. They came into the crowd and my daughter danced with Ken Block. She is now hooked for life!

Sister Hazel & Trotline 09 Lake Martin Ampitheatre

by NorthernBelle on 9/7/09Lake Martin Amphitheater - Eclectic

Great concert and great venue. Restroom and food lines were short. Coolers, alcohol, chairs, and blankets allowed. Great view from practically any seat, or you could stand right in front of the stage (no special ticket needed). Trotline played a lot of radio songs that everyone was able to sing along to, and they were really good. Sister Hazel was great, as always. Great blend of voices. Very unique sound. Talented musicians. Several powerful electric guitar solos. Took awhile to get out of the event, though because of traffic and lots of random rows of parked cars.

Hope both bands will be back next year.

by skipsfriend on 9/7/09Lake Martin Amphitheater - Eclectic

Sister Hazel is always a delight, but this year they played so much of their NEW music when we all wanted to hear more of the familiar tunes we love. Trotline was really enjoyable too. Loved hearing old favorites like Steppenwolf and Allman Brothers. The setting of the Lake Martin amphitheater is unbeatable. The last "summer" night is always well spent outside listening to great music at this most pleasant venue. Come back next year, Sister Hazel, but serenade us with all of your more familiar music.

Unbelievable Live ... Unlike most groups!

by Fatola on 9/6/09House of Blues Myrtle Beach - Myrtle Beach

Sister Hazel is my all time favorite group and I was so glad to get a chance to see them again live. They have matured as a group so much in the past 5 years. I always knew they had the potential to be in the elite class and without a doubt they have made it now, especially with their latest release. AWESOME!!! I have always felt a connection with Sister Hazel but since the HOB gig, that feeling is more so because these guys know how to be personable and can work a crowd like none other. They are tops in my book if for no other reason than their post show relationship with their fans...

    Rock at its best!

by JoeyG on 9/6/09House of Blues Myrtle Beach - Myrtle Beach

Atlanta based GOLDEN opened up with high energy and an original sound that pumped the audience up for Sister Hazel. GOLDEN's sound was rich with southern rock notes and alternative lyrics that dripped with melodic harmonies. If i have ever seen a more appropriate opening band, I couldn't remember it! Sister Hazel took stage in front of an audience pumped and excited. As always, Sister Hazel proved to be acousticly amazing and lyrically brilliant. Playing many songs from their well received new cd RELEASE, Sister Hazel played continously to an audience wanting more and more. Positive energy filled the House of Blues last night when an up and coming young band opened for a tried and true, consistently amazing and solid group. Great Rock and Roll Music in no better venue that the House of Blues!

    SH was fantastic!

by BookChick007 on 9/6/09House of Blues Myrtle Beach - Myrtle Beach

I was really impressed by the quality of their voices live--they sound as good live as they do on record, a rare feat! The opening bands were good, but Sister Hazel clearly stole the show with their great crowd interaction (beer offerings, brides-to-be, etc.). The setlist was varied, but they most definitely trying to promote their new album, Release. The House of Blues made for a cool, relaxed venue. Overall, I really enjoyed the show and cannot wait for them to come back to Myrtle.

Sister Hazel - Amazing as Usual!

by BuckeyeGirlGA on 8/29/09Center Stage Theatre - Atlanta

We all had a great time at the concert. Great seats, great music, and great fun!! It's always fun when the band members come out at the end to talk to their fans, take pictures and sign autographs. We had some friends that had never seen Sister Hazel before and the guys didn't disappoint! Amazing show!

    Sister Hazel is fabulous!

by grandfinale on 8/24/09Center Stage Theatre - Atlanta

As always, Sister Hazel had a fantastic show at the Center Stage Atlanta. I have been to many of their shows, and it never gets old. This particular show was cool b/c they just put out a new CD called Release on 8-19-09. They played 4 of their new songs mixed in with the older songs that we all know and love. Without a doubt Sister Hazel is the most fun concert that I have ever been to.

by Hazelnut10 on 8/24/09Center Stage Theatre - Atlanta

I've seen SH a number of times, and they're always good. They sound exactly like the cd. The songs they chose this time were a little questionable. But overall I had a really good time.

Sister Hazel AND opening acts were AWESOME!

by SLDM on 8/24/09Center Stage Theatre - Atlanta

Our experience was great! Not only was the headliner great (which is usual) but both opening acts were SO much fun and really got the audience pumped for the main show!
