About
Show Me the Body on Tour
There aren't many hardcore punk bands that use banjos, but Show Me the Body isn't just any hardcore band. Liberally drawing on a diverse array of influences including hip-hop, doom metal and grunge, the Queens, New York-based trio creatively use feedback and effects pedals to add texture and noise to their music, creating a genre all their own.
Show Me the Body's 2021 EP, Survive, offered up a noisy trio of tunes that deal with themes of isolation inspired by the pandemic and offers astute social commentary about TV violence. The EP received praise from the likes of Pitchfork and Stereogum.
Known for their unrelenting and raucous live shows, Show Me the Body were labeled "the world's most terrifying live band" by British magazine NME. Catharsis and headbanging are par for the course for this band that's become hugely popular with a whole new generation of hardcore fans. Get ready for an unforgettable live experience when they come to a city near you.
Show Me the Body Live in Concert
Vocalist and banjo player Julian Pratt initially came up with the idea for Show Me the Body after meeting bass player Harlan Steed in the ninth grade at Elisabeth Irwin High School in New York.
Pratt had become enamored with the New York hardcore music scene and they ended up bonding while playing music with Pratt's cousin Gabriel Millman, who ended up being their drummer for a time and eventually became their producer.
Show Me the Body sprang out of these jam sessions and became known for playing in unorthodox locations where they could connect intimately with their fans including under bridge overpasses, in alleys and in basements.
The band released their debut EP, Yellow Kidney, in 2014 and went on to release a self-titled EP in 2015, with Noah Cohen-Corbett taking over drumming duties.
After releasing a string of EPs over the next few years, Show Me the Body reconfigured certain aspects of the band during the COVID-19 pandemic, built a new studio space and brought on a new drummer, Jackie Jackieboy.
They also created the Corpus Collective, a community of artists including TRiPPJONES, Dreamcrusher, Dog Breath, and Twisted Thing that promotes mutual respect and supports good causes.
