the drunk woman sang over the amps...

by blofish on 8/7/12Cricket Wireless Amphitheater - Bonner Springs

...or maybe someone pulled out the speakers from their rental car. this was from the back row of the blue seats, the crowd talking was louder than the music. finally asked the girl next to me to not talk so i could hear what song was playing !! in my 40 years of concerting, this one is not to be forgotten. i will give it 1 star, only because you don't have the score it deserved . 00000000000000000. bet csn will be heard @ starlight.

Shoot Star. Mark Farner and Pat Travers

by RZuni1 on 8/7/12Cricket Wireless Amphitheater - Bonner Springs

This started a little slow, nestled up at the top of the Lawn GA with my blanket out. The refreshment were going down good! It is hard to get the acoustic at the top. But as the night progressed and we moved into the Front Lower GA. That made all the difference. The sound quality was much better, the bands were in tune and more seasoned and attentive to the crowd. GREAT TIME HAD BY ALL.

got there at four, opened gated at 5:20. let us in stadium at 6:08. First band was already playing. Sound system sucked, until Mark Farner played. He was greay. Shooting Star was ok. Need to let people in earlier!

    Mark Farner stole the show

by farnerfan912 on 8/6/12Cricket Wireless Amphitheater - Bonner Springs

Small crowd, but bands were great. Too bad it is limited to just stage speakers now and no field spotlights. Great to see Jim Dandy rock the house, but Mark Farner absolutley stole the show. Fans standing throughout his entire performance dancing and singing along. Should have been the headliner. Racey Grace very good for a local band. Seemed like a nice intimate setting for them to showcase their talent. Pat Travers always great to see. Even though I am a Shooting Star fan, I found their performance lacking. Did dig the new solo stuff Van played. Just wish more fans would have shown up to fill the theater as in days of old. I miss the great shows that used to come to Bonner Springs.

Pat Travers shows why he is one of the best!

by Maiznblue1 on 8/6/12Cricket Wireless Amphitheater - Bonner Springs

The whole experience from start to finish was perfect, even the weather. Black Oak Arkansas were very entertaining and brought back great memories with their biggest hit " Jim Dandy To The Rescue" but my favorite of the night was Pat Travers! Pat Travers can play and sing the blues with the best of them and I definitely recommend picking up some his latest work. It rocks! The venue was set up well too. A great night!

I was really disappointed when Mark Farner did not play his biggest hit when he was with grand funk. The rest of the music was ok. Also had no idea the order of the bands.

    Very rude concertgoers

by Aussiemama on 1/31/10Uptown Theater - Kansas City

We had a great time during the Max Floyd roast! Had excellent table seats. Lots of laughs and memories, expecially for my husband who idolized KY102. But I felt cheated that Tanna and Moffett were not there. Those are my memories. Also, Frankie. Now let's get to Shooting Star. We LOVE them and they were awesome as usual. The new lead singer was great. But there were several fans who were so rude they got up to dance in front of the band blocking everyone's view. I did not spend $200 to watch these people and there was no security to get them off. One woman actually fell on her butt and rolled over into the mic stand of Van McClain. Van is such an awesome guiatarist, it was a shame these people ruined the show for many people who witnessed disgust. Also, no interaction with the audience and no encore. It was an overly expensive, but fun night out.

    Fabulous!

by Kavv on 1/31/10Uptown Theater - Kansas City

It was a lot of fun. Too bad the people at the bar were not there for The Roast as they were very loud. The parking lot guys were extremely kind and helpful. AND as usual, Shooting Star was Fabulous!

Max Floyd Roast was funny/Shooting Star was great!

by June1 on 1/31/10Uptown Theater - Kansas City

I like the Roast part of the event. It really reminded me of my youth and Skid Roady did an excellent MC job. Really like Shooting Star a lot. I have seen them multiple times and they always put on a great show. What I didn't like during the Shooting Star part of the event was the lack of security. People got up and danced in front of Shooting Star so no one could see. At one point, a lady fell down right in front of the Lead singer and he had to help her back to her feet. That part of the event was disappointing and could have been easily improved.
