Up-and-coming pop singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes may have gotten his start posting six second covers to video sharing service Vine, but he's quickly become as impressive live as he is on screen. Hot off the heels of his 2014 debut single "Life of the Party", Mendes has proven his vocal and performance chops on the MAGCON tour, which features budding social media stars in concert. A talented new arrival with a debut album in the works, Mendes' star will continue to rise as he hits the road as a supporting act on Austin Mahone's summer 2014 tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Shawn Mendes was born in a Toronto suburb of Pickering in 1998. In 2013 he began posting cover snippets to video sharing site Vine, and within a few months he had amassed millions of followers who praised his prodigious vocal talents and boyish good looks. In early 2014 he won Ryan Seacrest's "Best 35 Covers" competition with his moving rendition of A Great Big World's single "Say Something", gaining exposure to countless new fans. Several months later his debut single "Life of the Party" landed at No. 24 on the Billboard Hot 100, making him the youngest artist ever to score a Top 25 hit on the chart. A precocious young talent with big things on the horizon, Mendes will continue to build his ever-growing fanbase on tour with Austin Mahone in summer 2014.

Shawn Mendes holds so much talent, too. I was blown away by the skill this musician holds. He had {at least} 4 different guitars, played piano, had solid vocals, and did an outstanding job with interacting with the crowd. His vocals were breathtaking. This concert blew the roof off of my expectations & I most definitely recommend seeing him. I know I plan on going to another concert myself.

I was kind of skeptical about the show, we have seen shows like Taylor Swift who absolutely involve the crowd and put on an amazing theatrical production. But I have to admit it was a really awesome show and his effects and how he got the crowd involved it was really good. I would go again.

by zoeyg77 on 8/7/17Allstate Arena - Rosemonteverything about this show is amazing. the displays are absolutely breath taking for each and every song. shawn also does an excellent job getting the crown involved. he puts on a great show by altering some of his songs to have a different spin and always being energetic. never a low point during the whole show. it is worth every penny you could possibly spend.

The concert was really great and Shawn is extremely talented. His stage was simple but stunning and we really loved when he came out to the piano and performed in the middle of the arena, closer to the fans who were further from the stage. Excellent show, I would see him again.

My daughter really enjoyed herself, I could've done with less screaming from the 30,000 girls there but I get it. It was hard to actually hear the artists because the girls knew every song and wanted to scream them all out. But bravo to Shawn Mendes, great show!
