Are they a boy band or a small militia? Even for K-pop, a genre known for its large ensembles, SEVENTEEN's size is big: 13 full-time members vie for space on each track — and in each video. But that surfeit of talent isn't a weakness. If anything, it's made this cheerful, shambling group insanely productive and versatile. Since their 2015 debut, they've released a small tsunami of EPs and a handful of LPs, and the members have become a driving force creatively. Their biggest inspiration? The urbane but still appropriate sounds of ‘90s hip-hop and R&B. These guys swagger, but underneath that toughness, they love a good pop hook, which makes them extremely fun to see live. The band undertook their first Asian tour, Shining Diamonds, in 2016. Just a year later they were on their first world tour, Diamond Edge, followed by 2018's Ideal Cut. In 2019 they returned to the road for the Ode to You world tour.

SEVENTEEN in Concert

The group, like most K-pop boy bands, came together under the auspices of a label — in this case, Pledis Entertainment. They learned the craft of entertainment in a low-profile way over several years and, in 2015, scored a monthlong reality TV show on MBC called Seventeen Project: Debut Big Plan. Then, after a debut showcase on live TV, the group went pro, quickly launching their first EP, 17 Carat. A certain amount of creative control was baked in from the outset: on Seventeen Project, the group was subdivided into hip-hop, vocal and performance "units." The idea was that, with enough training, the group would become a self-producing outfit — writing songs, choreographing and producing. The group's deft blend of ‘90s hip-hop, R&B and pop has won them legions of fans, as well as awards, including best new artist awards from the Seoul Music Awards, Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards and Golden Disk Awards. Billboard even named them one of Music's Hottest Young Stars Under 21 in 2015.

This was my first concert ever I went all the way to Washington DC to see them wish they would come to Charlotte. I personally think that this is one of the best K-pop groups out there with really affordable price tickets. I was able to get first floor tickets even though two members were out sick. They made the concert an unforgettable experience. definitely hope I can get tickets for the next tour and get to see all 13 members this time. If you have the opportunity to go take it, you will not regret it when I went in 2022 I did not know them at all had no clue who they were and came out loving them. Definitely one of my ult groups now.

The best boy band ever. Best performances, best stage presents. True talent. Give their best to their job. Even though you're not a fan, just try once, you might want to comeback the second, third, ... time again. Can't wait to have them back in the States !!

    SVT in SEA

    by Jess on 2/7/24

Approaching Seventeen's concert with an open mind, I attended despite being familiar with only two of their songs that had caught my attention a week prior. The decision to purchase a ticket arose when I stumbled upon an ad announcing their performance in Seattle. To my surprise, I emerged as a fervent fan. The sheer energy and charisma displayed by Seventeen left me in awe. True to the trend with other Hybe artists, there seemed to be no undesirable seats in the venue. I had the pleasure of meeting delightful fans, though I admit to some initial confusion as some girls were dressed as tigers (I've since caught on, haha. Horanghae! ). Seventeen's interaction with the audience was captivating, making the entire experience thoroughly entertaining. I'm eagerly anticipating their return to Seattle soon, and given the resounding success of their concert at Climate Pledge Arena, it would be fantastic to witness them perform at Lumen Field next.

saw them at prudential and it was an amazing show and the staff was super organized (even though they didn’t give me my vip gifts 🙄), and some people snuck into my row and tried to steal my seat and staff did nothing about that. Other than that Seventeen put in the best show I’ve ever seen in my life and I need to see them again 🥲🥲🥲

    A M A Z I N G

    by Kat on 12/25/23

Seventeen are literally some of the best performers I have ever seen. People who say they aren’t all that are LIARS and haven’t ACTUALLY seen Seventeen in concert and this is coming from someone who has been in theatre and production since I was a child.
