Perfect for a Sesame Street loving toddler! She thoroughly enjoyed this show, singing and dancing the whole time.

if your kids love sesame street it will be fun

by with2girls on 6/20/10Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

it was nice to see my girls having fun dancing to the music and following the characters as they move all over the floor. My son is 8 and he is a little too old for the play so he did not care to go. I would recommend only the children who really enjoys sesame street to watch this. Only because those kids get very excited and may become a little rascal from watching to fun characters live.

    Elmo Grows Up

I preferred the elmo makes music program that we saw last year. The songs were alot better. We still listen to that CD in our car! The songs in the elmo grows up are not that good! The cast was still really nice to see and my granddaughter still enjoyed herself! I hope next year's show will be better!

This is the second Sesame Street production I have been to. My granddaughters (ages 3 and 4) just loved it and did I. The girts got into the dancing and everything.

    When Elmo Grows Up

by Hawaiihunter on 6/15/10Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

The characters were very good and my 3 yr old son liked the fireman and train engineer occupation skits. The light show and finale were exciting to him. It came just in-time as he started to feel like he wanted to go elsewhere; find Mommy in the last 15 minutes. It was a Daddy & Son day and we got better seats so it was a dent in the pocket but cheaper than Disneyland for now. I had a problem with paying $10 for an Elmo-head Balloon and the way the vendor came in from both sides of the stage at the beginning of intermission. They are playing on the kids desires as they are high on the show and must have the balloon or have a tantrum. Vendors should stay in the vestibule and outside so you have a choice. Make the balloon cheaper.

    a super fun time!

by sesamelover on 6/15/10Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

My 5 and 2 year olds really enjoyed the show. It had all the characters and lots of fun songs--some new some old classics (Itsy Bitsy Spider). The only downfall was that at intermission, a bunch of guys came in with tons of huge elmos ballons for sale at $10 a piece! There were totally putting it right there in front of hte kids so it really made it hard to say no. Especially when yolu see al the happy kids with their bopping balloons. Such shameless money grabbing! Not what I would expect form Sesame Street.

A Great Show for the Whole Family!

by ARDmoor on 6/15/10Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

From the opening act until the closing curtain, this show catches the attention and takes you on a journey back to a simpler time! The interactive and sing-a-long times had my daughter on her feet, becoming part of the show, and I even found myself singing the songs and being a kid at heart! A timeless, must -see show and one not to miss!

Super cute and adorable for the kids! Great entertainment the dancers were fabulous especially with those huge costumes on. Perfect amount of time, not too long. *******Wish they hadn't brought out the balloons at intermission, especially at such super inflated prices, since we were in the front where they were it made it unpleasant for us not to buy one for our daughter. This is the only downfall, although to us it was pretty big. Obnoxious way to earn money.

    Disappointing through childrens eyes !

by Childrensart on 6/14/10Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

As a former dancer i could appreciate the what the show had to offer. But looking at it through the eyes of my child, there was too much dancing and singing, and not enough action that appealed to the young kids. Song and dance musicals are boring to young children, especially when its the "whole" show. It was a terrible show and i would not see another Sesame Street show again till they make some changes. Set design was very basic with colors and blinking lights. They should make the train or fire truck move across the stage to visually stimulate the kids. They should have incorporated educational moments in the show also. And songs that kids know, instead of the adult pop remakes they played. The audience loved the disco globe and confetti, do more of it , and then some other 'wow' surprises !

    Don't Miss Sesame Street Live!

by MotherOfBeautifulChildren on 6/14/10Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

This show is a definite must see for families with young school-age children! We attended with another family, totaling 5 children between us, and every one had a wonderful time. While the 6 year old said he didn't want a t-shirt, he definitely enjoyed himself, participating in all the audience participation segments & singing along with the songs on the show c.d. in the car later. The 3 and 1.5 year olds were just enchanted the entire time; and even the 6 and 3 month olds watched & smiled for a little while every now and then. Also, even though the title is When Elmo Grows Up, it is truly an ensemble show. For those who are die hard Elmo fans, don't worry, there is plenty of Elmo throughout the show. It is a nice mix of Elmo and all the other characters that should please just about anyone. The music is contagious, including some old favorites such as Oscar's "I Love Trash", and modified versions of songs like Creedence Clearwater's "Down on the Corner". All in all, a very enjoyable show that even caused one father to remark: "That was a really good show,"

    Kids Loved it

by KaiKai07 on 6/14/10Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

I've taken my kids to this event for the past 3 years. My kids loved it. I like it too, but I thought last year's show had more of a plot. This year's show was one song after another with not much of a story. We purchased the SUNNY Seats which comes with front row seats, a meet and greet with the characters and program book. One glitch was they didn't give us the program book and I had to hunt someone down to get ours. I know some people didn't know that the program book was included in the package because I sat next to a family that also had to hunt someone down for theirs.

The best Sesame Street Live yet!

by AlohaMelia on 6/14/10Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

When Elmo Grows Up is the best Sesame Street Live yet (and I've been going the last 5 years). It is non stop dancing and singing, not too much talking to lose interest. My 7 and 4 year old paid attention the whole time.

    Good, Solid Family-Friendly Entertainment

by Pueo on 6/14/10Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

The Sesame Street Live programs live up to their standard of excellence again with this production of "When Elmo Grows Up." The show is paced well, with a nice intermission just as the kids start to get a little too restless, and the numbers are fun and catchy, and there are several moments when audience participation is encouraged. The Blaisdell Concert Hall was a pretty good venue, with even the upper balcony seats providing a good view of the action. The audio was a little hard to hear at just a few instances, but for the most part it was good. The kids definitely had a good time, and as we left they were excited to recall all of the highlights they enjoyed from the show!
