  • Sesame Street Live

by my3rdtime on 1/23/13Toyota Presents Oakdale Theatre - WallingfordRating: 3 out of 5

The show was enjoyable but I didn't give it 4 or 5 stars because of the price of the tickets. Over $200 for 4 tickets to a show that was barely 1.5 hours! There were so many empty seats maybe if they reduced the price more families would be able to enjoy the show.

  • My girls loved it!

This was the first live event I've taken my 2.5 year old and 9 month old too. They both had such a great time dancing and singing. The crowd involvement was wonderful and it kept their interest the entire time. It was also entertaining for the adults in the room!

I took my 4 year old granddaughter to this concert and she absolutely loved it. She danced and sang along with the muppet characters and thoroughly enjoyed the show. It was worth seeing the big smiles she had while we were there.

Kids 3 and 5 loved it. Good seats and plenty of legroom, which is important to me at shows. Sound was good and everyone enjoyed it.

  • Sesame Street Live Elmo's Super Hero's

The show was fabulous. It kept the attention of the kids and adults. I loved the way they put the songs to tunes of the oldies. It made it easy for the adults and children to relate. The theme of hygiene, brushing your teeth, eating healthy and exercising was a great way to introduce children of all ages on how important these things are. The characters were just awesome. We had a great time. Can't wait till next year.

Very good seats, ticket price was reasonable, good, not to loud sound, just long enough. One complaint- don't sell balloons at stage front during intermission!

My 19th month old son loved the show so much. It's the one time he has ever sat still. It was so enjoyable to see him so happy!

  • awesome show but.....

by Jplancon on 1/21/13Toyota Presents Oakdale Theatre - WallingfordRating: 4 out of 5

the show was great! it was perfect for my 4 year olds. the concepts of healthy eating, good hygiene, getting lots of sleep, these were presented in a way that little guys could understand. the only thing I can say that was somewhat puzzling was the fact that they sold these GINORMOUS Elmo head mylar balloons during intermission (for $10 I might add) and then you were expected to keep them under your seat for the second half. Kind of silly really!

  • Music very loud for little ones!

by Jacobsmimi on 1/21/13Toyota Presents Oakdale Theatre - WallingfordRating: 5 out of 5

Great show except we had a toddler watching. Young ears are not yet developed or accustomed to the volume used in these performances. Thankfully the VIP room was empty and the sound was much more filtered, and a kind usher offered it's use to us.

It was a great show for our 2 year old. He watches Sesame Street on tv so it was a real treat for him to see the show live! Not sure about the $10 helium balloons though....

  • Elmo was awesome!

    by jduran232 on 12/18/12Patriot Center - FairfaxRating: 4 out of 5

My 3 year old daughter had so much fun! We had floor seats and so she was able to get a few hugs from some of the puppets as they went through the audience. Can't Stop Singing was a lot more enjoyable than Elmo Makes Music. I loved how they had 2 smaller stages for some of the muppets to dance on. Definitely would recommend! The only thing I noticed that kids did not like was Abby's solo. From an adult's perspective, it was a great song...but the kids grew restless cause it was not upbeat. Other than that, it was definitely a hit!

We've seen 123 Imagine and the Hero one with Grover. I thought the 123 Imagine show was amazing, my kids loved it, my 18mth old at the time stood the entire show and danced and it was very interactive. We bought the CD and still listen to it two years later. The Hero's show wasn't as good. We still really enjoyed it though. They came out into the audience quite a bit. If you pay for seats close to the stage, that's kind of the payoff, being able to see them close and maybe get a hug. If you visit Busch Gardens in Tampa though, you can see them up close there. They have a brief show at Busch. I'd love to take my kids to 123 Imagine again, Hero's is probably only a one time must see, but if it came around we would go. I'd probably take them up until the age of 6 or so, my niece went with both times, she was that age and loved it still. Also, it's worth buying the 123 Imagine CD to listen to.
