Singer/actress Selena Gomez's musical career reached a new height in 2013 with her solo debut album, Stars Dance. The album sold nearly 100,000 copies during its first week out and it became her first No. 1 album before she quickly took to the road for a massive arena tour with up-and-coming pop stars Emblem3 in tow.
Stars Dance featured Gomez's biggest hit to date, "Come & Get It," which peaked at No. 6 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, outpacing the 2011 hits with her band Selena Gomez & the Scene "Who Says" and "Love You Like a Love Song," which peaked at Nos. 21 and 22, respectively.
The seasoned road warrior, who only celebrated her 21st birthday in 2013, went solo after releasing three Gold-certified albums with the Scene between 2009 and 2011. Her musical ventures piggybacked with her careers as a fixture on The Disney Channel, and then in mainstream film.
Gomez, a native of Grand Prairie, Texas, began her path to stardom as a one of the kids on Barney & Friends. Her film debut took place in 2003, when she had a cameo in Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over. Gomez entered the Disney fold in 2006 by making guest appearances, including some with Miley Cyrus on Hannah Montana. She got her first starring TV role as the character Alex Russo on the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place.
As her acting career blossomed, Gomez embarked on a music career, signing with Disney's Hollywood Records imprint in 2008 and releasing her debut album with Selena Gomez & the Scene a year later. She released two more albums with The Scene over the next two years, both of which charted in the Top 5, before going solo.
Selena was stunning. I loved her energy and stage presence.
Selena Gomez was great! She had an amazing set, with old songs along with her new album.
I was a big fan of her "Stars Dance" album, however, missed the opportunity to see that show when she toured. I was hesitant at first, but there were VIP tickets available, and I thought "why not?". The visuals and vocals were right on point, I will definitely see her again when she tours next. If there is the VIP Meet and Greet option, I will go that route. Unfortunately, the Meet and Greet was already sold out when I purchased the package that I did. She does a great job singing live, along with dancing along with her back up dancers. She doesn't waste a lot of time changing from one costume to another, even though there are numerous costume changes. All in all, a spectacular show. If you aren't a fan of Selena, the visual show itself is worth the time.
The best Selena concert I've been to. I love her costumes! Overall it was 11/10
Selena is a great performer and her overall concert was very good
I loved every minute of her concert. Overall in everything she was amazing , she pushed limits that alot of preformers dont do . i can honestly say she's way better then britney spears and all those performers that just stand on stage and do nothing .she made the night so fun and worth remembering .
I took my daughter to see Selena. The show was awesome! Selena understands who her audience is. She was appropriate for girls of all ages. She sang from the heart and had a positive message for the girls. It was super entertaining! Loved it! Had such fun!
Selena was great but the stadium sound was weird. There were a lot of times it was hard to understand the words being sang because the background music was so loud and over powering.
I thought her show was amazing! She really takes the time to interact with the audience and you can tell she truly loves her fans and what she does. Also, all her songs sound amazing live and she sings with so much passion and the choreography was incredible!
Such a great night singing and dancing along to all of Selena's hits! I was pleasantly surprised with the nice mix of songs from her Revival album, as well as some older Selena Gomez and the Scene songs. All of her outfits were amazing, and her dancers were flawless! I really enjoyed her stage sets, too! It was exciting to hear her duet of "We Don't Talk Anymore" with Charlie Puth, and I was glad she brought him back out on stage to perform it. Overall, I had a really fun time!
So getting into the venue was good, the wait was not long. The show started on time exactly at 7:30 and both opening acts where great!! Such amazing talent! I liked that they had intermissions between performers have us time to go get food and use the restrooms! Although the lines for the bathrooms were so long! Selena was fantastic! This was my first time seeing her perform live! I loved it!!
This concert was fa - nominal! I had so much fun and no seat in this venue is a bad one!!!
Maybe Selena Gomez was sick but her voice was not good. She was only on stage a little more than an hour. A good portion of it was videos of her. Sadly, a waste of money.
Bahari started the show and did well. DNCE was next and really got the crowd jumpin! Very energizing! Selena seemed drugged when she came out. She seemed bored. She was VERY worried about her bangs. There were several lines of songs that should have been at a different pitch...but in the beginning of the show, her voice cracked a few times and maybe that deterred her from belting out the lines that were supposed to be. It was a shame because I really like her songs/music. The Scottrade Center was hot! Every now and then, we would feel a rush of cooler air...but for the most part, very hot.
The Selena Gomez concert was so awesome. BeaMiller and Chalie Puth were wonderful opening acts. The music, show and effects were excellent, very entertaining. My daughter and I had a great time at the concert.
Selena Gomez was truly amazing!! Me and my crew seen her opening night and ending of her US tour! She never disappointed! She had the crowd hype the whole night! Loved it!!!
Show was amazing. Was disappointed with the VIP early access tickets as we were only allowed to enter 5-10minutes prior to the general public.
Too many costume changes One too many opening acts. 2 Video shows (during costume changes) were boring Too long of a wait until main act - Selena did not come on until 9:30pm Felt there was too much dramatics (hair blowing in the wind) Overall, concert was ok. Nothing great. Would not buy tickets to see her again.
Great concert only part I didn't like was that when Charlie put performed, they never zoomed in on him. We even saw him from far away on the screen.
Selena Gomez is a very amazing performer. Her stage set up was absolutely great.
