About

Post-grunge rockers Seether looked back on their decade-plus career in 2013 by releasing a two-disc anthology dubbed Seether 2002-2013 and then, as is their longstanding habit, boarding their tour bus. Fans who scored tickets to the band's concerts saw the South African trio -- currently comprised of singer-guitarist Shaun Morgan, bassist Dale Stewart, and drummer John Humphrey -- pounding out favorites like "Broken," "Remedy," "Fine Again," and "Truth."

Seether came to the U.S. in 2002 after performing for a few years in their home country of South Africa under the band name Saron Gas. The risky move proved to be a smart one; the group easily slid into U.S. rock radio playlists and has since sold millions of albums around the world. Three of the band's albums -- 2002's Disclaimer, 2004's Disclaimer II, 2005's Karma and Effect and 2007's Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces -- sold more than 500,000 copies in the United States. Seether's 2011 studio album, Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray, reached No. 2 on The Billboard 200, making it the highest-charting album of the band's career.

    Seether Starland Ballroom

    by LDB12 on 10/4/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Uh? What was that all about? How is it possible for the opening band, Rev Theory, to sound so great and Seether to sound so bad? What was with all the sound problems? Was it me or did Morgan look a little....out there? The band played like they never played together before. They were very sloppy. I would only recommend this show just to say, "Yeah, I saw Seether.".

    Rev Theory Rocked HARD!

by EvilPixie on 10/4/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

The opening band Rev Theory did an amazing job getting the crowd pumped. They put their all into performing and was incredible. That was the first time I saw them and would go see them again in the future! I've seen Seether a number of times previously and unfortunately this was not their best performance. There were a number of technical difficulties and that added to the low moral of the band. They played well, but it was obvious they were having an off night. It happens to the best of us, no worries, I'll still go see them again regardless.

    Another cool Starland show!!!

    by Xdog40 on 10/4/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Glad to have seen Seether in this small venue! Great setlist, energetic (if a bit rough) crowd, and good time had by all! Wish they would have played "Out of My Way", but they played pretty much everything else I would have asked for.

    Seether was amazing

    by Joey44 on 10/4/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Talk about high energy! The band was amazing, but frankly so was the crowd. I would absolutely see them again, and can't wait for the opportunity.

    by AngelBear425 on 10/4/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Yesterday was the 9th time I saw Seether and they were absolutely unbelievable!! They played some of their most popular hits and also treated us to a new song off their upcoming album. They opened with No Jesus Christ, their latest single. I loved Careless Whisper live- it was absolutely unbelievable!!

    seether rocks!

by sublimebpp on 10/4/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

They had great sound and performance at starland ballroom. they kept having problems with there amps so maybe they need a new guitar tech. other than that nice set list and show! As far as starland ballroom is concerned lets just say i've been to better venues. But the sound there was really good! its just if you dont get there early you have to really try hard to find a place to stand and still be able to see.

    SEETHER WAS AWESOME!!

by troysmom on 10/4/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

The size of the venue is small enough so that we who were standing in the front row could practically touch the band, which made the concert that much better. It was a phenomenal show and I would definitely see other acts at Starland.

    Must see show!

by LulyCruz on 10/4/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Great show. The opening act was like an energy boost drink, preparing you for the big moment. Like a warm up, until we were all heated up. Rev theory great act. Then Seether was like the calm after the storm, soothing us with those heart pounding but calm songs, like a rollercoaster with its ups of loud bass and the downs of the guitars. I had a great time, really enjoyed it.

    Awesome

by JAMinNJ on 10/4/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

We have been to Starland several times but I've never seen such a packed crowd! There were a true mix of ages in the crowd. Only proves that Seether does not just appeal to the "Younger" crowd.
