Proving that everything new can be old again, pianist Scott Bradlee has become a viral pop sensation after creating a series of clips for YouTube that finds him and his ad hoc group Postmodern Jukebox reworking 21st century pop hits in a variety of vintage styles -- transforming Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop" into a '50s-style doo wop number, giving Macklemore's "Thrift Shop" a '20s jazz accent, crossing Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" with Irish folk music, and showing how Ke$ha's "Die Young" would work as a classic country tune.
Best show I have seen in such a long time. Right up there with Brian Seltzers show
The show exceeded our expectations! Everyone involved was extremely talented, engaged with the audience, and top-notch! We will definitely try to see this production again!
This was our third time seeing POSTMODERN JUKEBOX and they never disappoint. It doesnt matter what genre of music you like i gurantee you will be entertained.
One of the best concerts I've ever been to. Everyone in the band was a master of their craft! Highly recommend for anyone of all ages to go see!
this was our 3rd PMJ concert... they never disappoint!!!!! 24 of us went (it was a 3 hour drive, one way) and had the best night!!!!!!
This show totally exceeded my expectations! The musicianship was extraordinary. I don’t understand why everyone in the show isn’t famous.
I had not previously heard of this group but have eclectic tastes in music so since it wasn't a long drive we decided to attend & I'm glad we did. The level of talent was impressive.
That tattooed lady could sure sing. Loved her version of "Creep". All the ladies were showstoppers, and the musicians were tight. I could've done with a little less of the tap dancing - especially since we couldn't see her feet. The MC had a terrific voice. It was a GREAT night.
PMJ can sure do a show! The Birchmere is fabulous for providing an intimate experience with the performers. I don't love being forced to show up so early to get a decent seat - nor to pretty well be forced to order food I don't want to pass the time. However, the onion rings are fabulous, and the lemonade is great too! I love that it's a homey venue with free parking and outside of DC. Thank you!
They were just incredible! Every musician and singer gave it their all and the singing was so good that I was crying several moments during the show because it was so beautiful. I now want to be a groupie and see every show!
High Energy musicianship and interestingly diverse vocal styles. Maintains the PMJ standard well. Tap dance talent is very, sharp. MC runs the show well. A show very much worth seeing. Crown rose to the occasion and I hear that this is to be expected with PMJ performances.
I was very surprised to receive and email from Ticketmaster at 1 pm on a workday telling me that I and my party had to show up an hour earlier than the original VIP schedule. Then when we arrived the venue wasn't ready for the early arrivals. It is a dinner theater, but that wasn't publicized in any of the pre announcements. We lucked into dinner because of the schedule change we had cancelled our pre-show dinner plans and showed up at Birchmere planning to dine on bar food. Birchmere is definitely a unique experience. PMJ put on an outstanding show. The music, the performers were second to none. They seemed to truly enjoy what they were doing and then definitely got the audience involved.
Of course, I’ve seen the videos on FB/META and YouTube, but the live show was electric! Stunning singing performances; great musicians, arrangements and tapping! Can’t wait for a return visit.
This show was amazing, with all performers giving it everything! Great mix of songs and excellent performances all around.
The experience was exceptional! Every artist including the band had different varieties of talent. The array of music was for viewers from the age of 3 to 100! Wanting to jump out out of your seat with jive to the angelic voice of an angel. The artists show such a great time with themselves that at the end of the show not only do you think,"great show"you also think,"man do I want to hang with them... "can't wait to see them again
Scott Bradley’s Postmodern Jukebox does it again! I have never been disappointed by these musicians. They put on a high energy show with the most amazing musicians. The MC starts you on a high note and it carries through the whole concert.
I knew it was going to be a great concert but I was blown away but the talent that these young performers exhibited! They were phenomenal! The musical arrangements are always stellar for this group and the were running on all 8 cylinders all night long, well for 2 hour anyway! It was a concert not to be missed. Had an absolutely wonderful time!
Postmodern Jukebox puts on a terrific show! I've experienced PMJ live several times. Each show was different. Each show was wonderful. On a different note, I was unhappy with the lack of paper tickets. Will NEVER buy another ticket to any future concerts at The Factory as long as a cell phone is required for admission.
My partner really likes the Creep cover of this band, so when I saw tickets go on sale I knew I had to have them. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening watching everyone perform, especially the bits with video game music.
I cannot explain how much we enjoyed this show! From the minute when they started until the last song, they had the audience captivated! The Factory was such a cool place too!
