An amazing tight show and the Sisters are 110% consummate entertainers! Can't wait to see them in Philadelphia.
I've always enjoyed their music, but seeing them live took it to a whole new level. They put on a fantastic show. See it!
was 10' from the stage, so had a really great view of it all. sound system was a little too bass-y and distorted. the crowd was cool
Show was fantastic!! LOVED the backup singers, and the entire band was on, on, on! Music was great, although the microphones were set a bit too low. The "shout outs" were a bit sappy, but nothing I couldn't deal with.
I want my money back. Seriously. With the technical difficulties and the show starting 2 1/2 hours after we got there I just left after the 2nd song.
If you are into this style of music then Scissor Sisters live is a must see. Jake is an amazing front man, and they embody the epitome of the truly amazing performer. Highly recommended.
Show was energetic and a lot of fun! Even if you haven't heard their latest album, you'll have a great time!
Such a great show, full of light and laughter and non-stop dance numbers. Scissor Sisters consistently put on a very entertaining show with their infectious music and on-stage antics. Highly recommended.
Amazing show. Came out hot and only got hotter. The venue was a perfect size so you could feel like intimately close to the band. The energy of the show was high the whole time and mixed a lot of new with old classics. Definitely will go back to see another Scissor Sisters show and another show at Terminal 5!
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! I saw both of their shows at Terminal 5 this week, and I could see them 20 more times. The Scissor Sisters live NEVER dissappoints. I took a few friends with me who were Scissor Sisters virgins, and they haven't stopped talking about how great the show was. Hopefully the the group makes it back to NYC again for another round of shows!
Amazing show! This is the second time I've seen the Scissor Sisters and the first time I've seen them in NYC. It was one of the best concerts I've seen. The band sounded great, the singing was amazing, and they sustained a high energy level throughout the entire show. For $35 I got a $150 performance and they sang almost all of my favorite songs.
Scissor Sisters were GREAT. Fantastic chemistry between Jake and Ana, very energetic, and vocals dead on. My biggest gripe was the opening acts. Had I known Scissor Sisters were coming on at 9pm, I would have arrived then. But I had to sit through an hour of DJ Sammy Jo, then 45 minutes of Casey Spooner (terrible songs), 15 minute "set change" when all of the equipment was already there... I was honestly ready to call it a night already but thankfully Scissor Sisters came on and blew up the stage. Fantastic. If you can avoid the opening acts, highly recommended show.
Great Show!!! The band was more than incredible, blew me away at how good they sounded. The venue was awesome as well, nice and small and intimate. And the crowd was a gas, like a big gay party! Out of the thousands of shows I've been to, they definitely rank close to the top on the all time greatest list!
One of the best groups around- full of energy, beautiful, and unique. I still can't believe they don't push to get their music on American radio. They deseve FAME! An amazing, high energy show not to miss!
Doors opened at 7 but the event didn't start until 9:15. It ended by 10:45. The waiting wasn't fun - random DJ guy spinning music and some super bizarre "opening act" for thirty minutes. It was a long wait. When they finally came on, the music and performances were spot on and it was a great time. Ana Matronic stole the show for me. Mesmerizing. They came back for a three song encore. It was also amazing. Loved the music from start to finish. Just wished the wait had been shorter.
Despite the fact that their most recent release Night Work took forever to come out and doesn't quite live up to earlier releases, Scissor Sisters always deliver in their LIVE shows. This is the third time I've seen them and they are nothing less than electric on stage. I don't know where Ana Mantronic and Jake Shears get their energy but wherever it is, I want to go there. They played for an hour and 1/2 and touched on all three albums, although there was a heavier focus on Night Work. The highlights were the crowd pleasers "Take Your Mama Out" and "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" but "Invisible Light" from Nightwork also got the crowd going. Excellent show, as always.
They kept us waiting for 2 hours - yes 2 hours that is before they appeared and put on a bad show. They performed for a short time. I thought they had released more songs so why oh why did they not not stay on for longer ? If they wanted a break in between then may be they should have got that bad DJ to play for an hour inbetween rather than make us wait in anticipation for 2 hours - yes 2 hours that is to watch a a bad, short show ! In summary: It was a waste of my time and money :(
Scissor Sisters were awesome, the DJ was excellent, and the other opening act was OK, but a little nasal for my tastes. I also really enjoyed the venue having 3 stories to it, so I could watch from above the pressing crowd on the floor.
The Scissor Sisters have been a favorite band of mine since they arrived on the scene in 2000. The new disk is a return to the first album but is so well written and produced that it eclipses some of the earlier work; however the "Sisters" live is pure bliss. With high energy, great instrumentals and great voices they hit the mark and never turn back. There was not one clunker in the nearly 2 hour set performed at Terminal 5 Tuesday night. From Night Work, to Laura to Invisible Light - they rocked! The only issue we had was with the sound. I've seen other acts at Terminal 5 and the same issue is always there - the sound on the mezzanine level is tinny and not clear enough to hear lyrics. With the "Sisters" the words are a hugely important part of what they do so not to be able to understand them because of muddied sound mixing is a problem. Other than the sound, the concert was enjoyable from beginning to end. I highly recommend this act to anyone who wants to be entertained with witty lyrics and great music!
This was an amazing show. Terminal 5 was the perfect space for their show. Amazing views of the stage. The energy of this band is incredible. They will get you moving and grooving to their butt-shaking songs. Good times. Everyone seemed to leave the show energized and pumped.
