About

SAW The Musical: The Unauthorized Parody of Saw premieres Off-Broadway in Times Square this summer after its smash out-of-town tryout in Philadelphia last year! It follows the events of the first movie parodying Saw, one from Lawrence Gordon and Adam Stanheight finding each other for the first time in the bathroom trap. Can they follow the rules as they discover each other's secrets? Can they escape the game before the clock runs out? Or saw right through? A bisexual love story at its core, SAW The Musical: The Unauthorized Parody of Saw is Little Shop of Horrors meets Avenue Q pushing the boundary on sexuality and how to love.

  • Unique, Unforgettable Experience!

by Cara on 8/27/25Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Expected it to be low-budget and terrible, but took a chance and glad we did, it was indeed incredibly low-budget, but also terribly amusing! The low-budget nature was acknowledged by playing into it with humor and made it all the more hilarious. There were moments I had tears streaming down my face, I was laughing so hard! They had issues with their mics here and there (again, so low budget they probably carry all their gear in a single pick up truck), but they dealt with it with humor and grace. I was also surprised and impressed at the quality of the vocalists, they were incredibly good, they belong in a much bigger production on Broadway! If you have a good sense of humor and are not a stuffy prude, I highly recommend this, it is a very unique experience! Don't turn away for fear of gore, it really wasn't gory.

  • Left at Intermission

by Theatre Lover on 8/26/25Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 1 out of 5

It was awful. Poor sound and the sound tech had. to stop the show to fix it. Unprofessional and raunchy humour. We left at intermission.

  • Must see!

by Shiv on 8/26/25Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

This musical was so much fun to attend! The actors did a fantastic job, the songs were dark yet plucky, dialogue was witty, and overall it is something I would happily see again.

  • Fruit-tastic!!

by Cat on 3/17/25PHILANTHROPY THEATRE - El PasoRating: 5 out of 5

Definitely worth the money! It was very funny and the Applebees mention encouraged my friends and I to go out to eat afterwards! Take advantage of this show!

  • Entertaining

by Review on 1/26/25Rating: 4 out of 5

Enjoyed it. Knew what to expect after seeing some reviews. The volume of music overcame the vocals initially-as a review had mentioned-but improved to hear the performers as the play progressed. It was about a two hour event-aside from intermission. Will rewatch Saw 1 in a new way. The Applebee's reference....and Adam is wild.LOL

  • Fabulously Hilarious!

Did not know what to expect, but it was fabulously hilarious! We had a blast and I have not been this entertained in such a long time!

  • Delightfully Gross

by Spooky Mama on 1/26/25Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts - Terry Theater - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

In the vein of Evil Dead, Saw the Musical is a fun romp into the first movie in the Saw series. We attended the performance in Jacksonville Florida The cast was amazing and kept us laughing or groaning the whole show. A must see for people who love a well done dark comedy.

  • Not for me

I should have read more about the play before buying tickets and should have brushed up on the synopsis of Saw. It was "interesting"

  • Interestingly Good

by Fletch on 1/15/25Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

I had no idea what to expect but ended up really liking it. It is very hard to describe, but overall, great idea, good acting. The only issue was the sound. At first the music was so loud it was hard to hear the actors singing. Seemed to get better as the show went on. What an odd movie to try and make into a musical, but they pulled it off. Only three of them, and all were fabulous. Interesting idea that was pulled off nicely.
