They played 24 songs end it didn't drag once. Banger after banger. What a wonderful night.
I might be biased but because they’re my favorite band. But I’ve been to probably 300+ concerts and including Saves the Day over 15 times, and even having friends who are famous in the industry, still best show ever. The show beat out all the times I’m backstage or hangout with various bands and artists. House of Blues was the perfect venue for Saves the Day.
Saves The Day has been my favorite band since I was 15 (I’m 35 now) + this show was such a dream. I have seen every Portland show that they’ve put on since I was in high school. I even went to their show when I was pregnant with my daughter (who is now 16). My daughter + I flew from Portland, OR to see them play the Stay What You Are set at the House of Blues in Anaheim. It was the most epic show EVER. I got to experience them with my daughter + that made it so special. A night I’ll never forget.
House of Blues undersold VIP and we all had to suffer. The sound was good. The strobe lighting was weird? It kept hitting the crowd at eye level. But worst of all, GA was packed and overflowing, while several sections of the venue were empty and off limits. It made it difficult to find a good spot to watch the show from, and no matter where you stood, you were being jostled by people walking in and out and all around(fine for a show) but annoying if you’re just trying to watch. We could see mass amounts of empty seating that would have been prime for watching the concert, but instead there was packed over flow in the bar areas and sides. Poor planning, they should have released these areas for use.
Saves the day is always amazing they could play in a dumpster on fire and it would still be the best performance.
Saves the Day killed it and the crowd had a special energy. 'Stay What You Are' is an all-time album. Experiencing it in it's entirety, live, with everyone singing along - it was spiritual. Thanks to the band for the joy and memories you create.
After watching Saves the Day live, I am prepared to call them one of my favorite bands of all time. Great band, amazing show.
Fast entry. Venue spacious. Band was clear and great
Seriously probably top 5 shows I’ve ever been to. Set list was perfect! Let’s get them to play again!
I had never seen Saves the Day, but Through Being Cool was a staple for me back in ‘99-2000. I was excited for this show. I really think the band sounded great! The HOB Anaheim has great sound, so that helped. I like that they played 20+ songs. My biggest critique is their stage presence. It was just kind of dull. I’m not trying to be mean, just explaining why I’m not giving them 5 stars. In comparison to other bands I’ve seen recently, (Lagwagon, the Interrupters, Tiny Moving Parts, NFG), this show just wasn’t as good. All that said, it’s great to see that they’re still doing it!
Chris C. is by far the best front man of any pop punk band. The energy he exudes is pure joy to experience. The sound was spot on and the crowd was 100% emotionally invested in the music. I will continue to see this band when ever they tour, for forever.
Saves the Day have remained one of those bands that are as good, and quite often better, live as they are on their albums. They brought so much energy and passion and played SUCH a wide range of new and old material I was pleasantly surprised and re-impressed with this band. I've been a fan for quite some time, so I certainly appreciate them pulling out Holly Hox and Banned from the Back Porch right up to some of the new stuff.
Awesome show!! Saves The Day only gets better, nothing like hearing your favorite songs live.
Saves the Day was AMAZING...high energy, great songs, and very good people!
Great show! Good mix of old and new songs. Decent sized venue.
Concert was awesome. I went to see Bayside, but I liked all the bands that played
The overall concert was great. We went to see Bayside, and they were amazing! Transit was also good, and we had never heard of them before.
The venue has a really good sound system and all of the bands were great.
The concert itself was simply outstanding. Loved the performance put on by both bands. They really got the crowd rockin' for such a modest venue. I was a little put off by the venue as a whole, since the bouncers were annoyingly pushy. It seems as if you can't even answer someone's question without being shoved around, but I guess that defines their job description. ATM accessibility wasn't the greatest since both machines malfunctioned and they only accepted cash in the area where the bands were actually performing. That aside, the overall experience was positive and I would see the show again.
