The view was great, however, they packed us in like sardines at the tables so close that it was not comfortable. In fact, because we were so crowed for space, we accidentally spilled our water glass, twice, necessitating a table cloth change. The service was good and the food was, well just ok. Less chairs, people at the table would be a much needed improvement.
DAUGHTER, GRANDSON AND I (GRANDFATHER) HAD A SUPERB AFTERNOON AT THE RACES. WAITRESS ERIN WAS FANTASTIC AND THE WATER LADY KEPT OUR GLASSES FULL. FOOD WAS EXCLLENT AND THE STAFF DID A FINE JOB. 5 STARS. WE WILL BE BACK!!!!!
Our day at the Saratoga track was delightful. Great history and the grounds are beautiful with food vendors, live music and small pop up shops .watching from the turf terrace was very nice . Unfortunately the food at the terrace is not very good, staff also seemed overwhelmed.
Turf Terrace is a lovely place to sit, relax and watch the Saratoga races….but….the food is simply awful! I had a Mezza plate. The hummus and veggies ok, pita so hard it was inedible, icky babaganoush and the tapenade was unpalatable. Drinks were ok, if a waitress was available.

They could remove 2 or 3 tables from the row of tables to give the people a little more room. It was just like being jammed into a small airplane seat.
Tables to tight-have to disturb everyone at your table and the next table every race to get up and place a bet. NYRA no good payouts. Rough to have a Pick3 win that only paid $8.60. Should have been 3-4 hundred.
Excellent table above the finish line and near betting windows. Service was excellent and so was the food. Portions were plentiful.
Turf rest is the way to go! Food drink service is great. Betting close by. Great view. And won a few races and an exacta
Great views. Too many tables pre-allocated for insiders leaving nothing for people who come for a week every summer. NYRA pricing way way too high. Expect $500 per couple for table, moderate food, and 3 drinks each. The meet has just turned into a cash grab.
The location is great! View of the track is spectacular. The food needs a complete overhaul. The food a major disappointment. Come on! You can do better.
Fabulous view to watch the races, but will never pay to be seated there again . Let’s start with just how filthy the place is. Everything felt dusty , dirty and gross. The food at Turf Terrace was soooo overpriced for what we were served. The menu choices were as bland and boring as the food and our server. The only time we got service from the time we were seated was when we waved her down. The food was disgusting. 28 bucks for 2 teeny tiny crab claws that looked like they were floating in dirty water for a week on a bed of wilted lettuce (weeds) was really disappointing. My husbands burger , which he ordered medium, was dry and tasteless . I could go on and on, but to sum it up Turf Terrace was a huge letdown. Overpriced, gross food, dirty dusty surroundings and terrible service.
