Sara Bareilles in Concert

Long before "Brave" hit the charts in 2013 and became her signature tune alongside the 2007 smash "Love Song," California-based singer songwriter Sara Bareilles's music embodied the word. Finding strength in vulnerability as well as her stomping, striding piano lines, the self-taught musician has made her name exploring the complexity of love and attraction with unflinching honesty and incredibly catchy hooks. Her style is pop in almost the classical sense of the word, with songs that directly relate with ticket buyers no matter what they are predisposed to like, as she shown on tours with the likes of Counting Crows, Maroon 5, and Sugarland. All of that touring paid off on her third full-length studio album, The Blessed Unrest, which debuted at #2 in the spring of 2013, right behind Jay Z. She showed herself to be in total command of the studio, as displayed in the anthemic "Brave," which she co-wrote with Jack Antonoff of the band Fun. But while she flourishes with layers of sound or fronting a rollicking band, Bareilles is just as powerful sitting at a piano by herself, which she proved with the October 2013 solo concert DVD and album, Brave Enough: Live at the Variety. Whatever the setting, her authenticity and ability to musically reveal her own truth cannot be denied.

Bareilles is going on a 30-city tour in 2019 celebrating her fifth studio album, Amidst the Chaos. The tour begins at the Fox Theatre Detroit on Oct. 5. She will visit Chicago, Boston, New York, St. Paul, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh and Orlando before ending the tour on Nov. 26 at the Fox Theatre Atlanta.

    Quality show

by Becca on 11/26/19BB&T Center - Sunrise

The show was a quality act. Sara's voice and sound was amazing and she was extremely personal. The venue was good. I saw a lot of underutilized floor space that could have had more seats for sale. A sign where the merchandise stand is located would be helpful. Especially if you didn't enter in the main center doors to see where it was. Drinks were standard price and lines were fine.

    Amazingly talented!

by Amanda W on 11/26/19Daily's Place - Jacksonville

Sara Bareilles is so amazingly talented. She plays the piano and guitar while she sings, but she does it with such grace! Her voice is so clear, it is unreal. She is also super funny when chatting with the crowd. I would go see her again and again if I could! Highly recommend!

Not a good "IN PERSON" experience

by ScubaDo on 11/26/19The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

Sara Bareilles was warm, sweet, owned the stage and sang like the dynamic diva she has always been. Her band was exceptional and the evening's music was perfection. Unfortunately the venue sucks. The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory needs a lot of improvements to become the music venue it thinks it is. Example, the seats on the ground floor have very little rise from one row to the next making it difficult to see the stage without having to slide side to side to see around the person in front of you. The big screens on the sides are great, but I paid a couple hundred bucks to see Sara in person NOT on a screen. If you can't get tickets in the first 10 rolls don't expect to have an unobstructed view of the stage without standing up and obscuring the stage for the people behind you, which a lot of people did. Lastly the cheap, uncomfortable, non-permanent chairs are a joke. I know the area is designed for a standing youthful audience, but it simply does not work for a more adult crowd. My suggestion is to buy the cheapest lawn tickets available, bring your own comfortable chairs and enjoy the show via the big screens along with the vibe of the crowd with no expectations of actually seeing the act on stage or having an "IN PERSON" experience, just enjoy the TV show.

    Perfect Pitch

    by A. on 11/26/19BB&T Center - Sunrise

Not sure how this girl does it but I’ve seen her lives 3 times now and never heard her hit a bad note. She is beyond talented as anyone who follows her career knows. Her writing and playing is exceptional and then you throw in the vocals and she’s a force to be reckoned with. Can’t wait for her next concert whenever that may be, I’ll definitely be there!

    Sara Bareilles is the Queen

    by j. A. on 11/26/19

OK so after a whirlwind tour of Florida we were fortunate enough to see two Sara Bareilles shows in two nights (Jacksonville & Sunrise - near Miami) . For anybody reasonably close to me I have gone on a crusade for the last 12 years trying to convince anyone who will listen what a talented, likable and refreshing artist this is. My wife first discovered her in 2007 on the weekend edition of CBS this morning which nobody ever watches. I found the record and we immediately memorized it. We were fortunate enough to see her on her first tour in 2007 at the 300 seat World Café, and have seen her a dozen times or so since (not counting Waitress). It’s been so rewarding to see her evolve as artist, writer and performer. Right off the bat, and still, her shows have an intimate feel and at times it’s as if she’s just performing for the two of us. She’s genuine and sincere, and humbly strives for a world with more empathy, understanding and acceptance while hoping we all find a “soft place to land”. Her shows are getting better and better After reaching significant commercial success with her first 4 records she defies all logic and traditional wisdom and decides to waltz into her record company and tell them essentially “Yeah… for my next trick I’m going to score a musical “Waitress” based on a quirky movie that came out 8 years ago. Bold and ambitious, she defied the odds and became an international rock star by writing a Broadway musical. Again, if you haven’t seen it, shame on you because it’s not from us not telling you. We saw it 4 times in its progression twice with her starring as the lead character. We immediately bought tickets for the family to go too… It will be around forever, take the time and go see it. So the shows this weekend, same setlist both nights but she’s been consistent with that throughout this tour and previous ones. The Friday night Jacksonville venue, Daily’s place, is a 4000 seat open air amphitheater. We had seats maybe 10 rows from the stage but had our own row at the back of the floor seats. We were able to stand the whole time. It was a love fest, intimate and engaging. Everyone was dancing, swaying and singing along as if we were all welcoming home a long lost friend. The sound was crisp and clear and it was great for us personally to see Sara in a concert setting for the first time in like 7 years. She hasn’t lost a thing. We were accompanied by two of our best friends (first timers) and it was clear from the start that they were “getting it”. We loved everything about this venue and show…. Perfect. Sad we will most likely never get to see her in a place this small again, she’s getting to be too popular. Saturday was the BB&T Center in Sunrise Florida near Miami, a gigantic hockey arena home to the Florida Panthers. This is a BIG HALL, and sadly was only about half full. We were wondering how she would fare in such a cavernous venue. Our seats (by design) were in the last row of the floor on the aisle next to the soundboard. We always try and get last row so we can stand up all we want without offending those behind us and having them yell “Sit down” when they feel like sitting. Sara was certainly up for the challenge and not intimidated at all. This show was noticeably more intense than the night before. Sara seemed extremely focused and on top of her game. From where we were, the sound was absolutely perfect, not easy in a venue designed for sports and not music. We noticed in this venue, there was not the positive vibe we clearly noticed the night before. Perhaps because a lot of tickets remained unsold, and local radio stations had given many away. It did not seem that most of the people there were all that familiar with what they were about to see. Some of the people we spoke with were ONLY familiar with songs from the Waitress. All in all, the crowd was not as unconditionally adoring as they were Friday, but by the end of the night they were. Sara crushed it. It was good for me to have the opportunity to catch up on many details if the show that I missed on Friday, develop a better appreciation for her band and things/details about her stage presence and performance that I didn’t notice earlier. I could study the little things more intensely. So the tour is essentially over, I’d guess she will do some more shows at some point, or maybe defy all conventional wisdom and join the circus, cut a record with a barbershop quartet or maybe take some time and live life, perhaps start a family. In any case her artistic ability and creativity have been an inspiration to us and we will be forever grateful. She is one of the very few that give old-timers like us hope for music down the road.

    Bittersweet

    by T. O. on 11/26/19BB&T Center - Sunrise

This is the first time I wanted to leave a concert because of the opening act. Emily King sang off key, weird dance moves and songs that made no sense. As I thought I can't take one more note it was over. Thankfully Sara Bararielles restored my faith in music. She is incredible. Music, lyrics, singing were awesome. Her band is amazing. She brought me to tears, made me laugh and made me think. Thank you Sara Bararielles for your music.

by Lucas on 11/26/19BB&T Center - Sunrise

Sara is an amazing artist. She gives her all in each performance and is a crowd pleaser. She loves what she does and it shows. She super talented as a singer, songwriter and most importantly a superb performer!! I’ve seen her twice and I loved both performances. This time I was 5 rows away from the stage and that was an incredible experience! Can’t wait to see her again! Only thing that can top my last experience is to meet her back stage!

    absolutely wonderful!!!

    by D. L. on 11/26/19BB&T Center - Sunrise

So aside from her beautiful voice and wonderful musicians she has with her, she is the first artist I have ever seen who came out before her show to introduce her own opener!! Like really can she be more down to earth? She walks around stage reading signs, signing books and even sang Happy Birthday to an adoring fans wife!!! Honestly the best show!!!!

by Diana on 11/26/19BB&T Center - Sunrise

She is extremely charismatic and talented. I saw her in a large setting but she was very interactive with the crowd and made it feel like you were in a small bar. Loved the strings part of her band and that she sand songs from Waitress.
