Fun time with an excellent group of singers dancers and musicians
The chorus produced a fantastic program. There is no other musical group that does an upbeat, uplifting and fun holiday program in San Diego like the chorus. The singers were fantastic, the dance team really enhanced the program and musicians accompanied the group but also did jazz solos on their own.
Okay, let’s talk about the San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus because WOW. I had the sheer joy of catching all three of their shows this past season, and let me tell you—I am living for it. First up, “Jingle”. Picture it: holiday spirit, fabulous harmonies, and just the right amount of sparkle. I left that show with more holiday cheer than a Hallmark movie. Fast forward to spring, and we got “Freak Out”, their disco extravaganza. Yes, they went full-on 70s, and it was everything. I didn’t know I needed to see that many men nailing disco choreography until I did. The energy was contagious—I was ready to dig out my cha-cha heels. But then… “Let’s Get Loud”. Oh, honey. The moment they hit the stage with Beyoncé, I knew we were in for something special. Add the San Diego Women's Chorus and the Tijuana Chorus into the mix, and suddenly I’m in the middle of a musical rainbow coalition, just soaking up all the love and activism. Beyoncé would be proud. Honestly, if you haven’t seen the SDGMC yet, do yourself a favor and get on it. These guys are slaying the game, and I’m officially a fan for life.
The shows were amazing !! I came for the Saturday night show and stayed another night in San Diego to catch the Sunday show too!
This was my first experience seeing one of your shows. My daughter in law was one of the dancers so of course I went to support her. I had no idea what to expect. I must say, it was the best show I have ever seen and I was blown away at the talent on that stage! A truly professional production! The finale was so exciting and I was on my feet! Thank you for what you do and I look forward to any upcoming productions. God bless!
A little slow at the start but once the Tijuana chorus came on stage, the choruses were so good that I got goose bumps and became joyous.
Another great all around show from the Gay Men's Chorus. This performance included an LGBTQ chorus from Tijuana and the SD Women's Chorus. Full of dance and sound.
We've been to a couple of their performances and loved every one. This one was just plain FUN!
Loved the music , costumes and venue. Felt like a lot of work went into this performance.
The chorus was great for both shows! The band was a little overpowering the first show but they got it right for the second performance so I could hear the choir better. Great music, fun dancing, nice choreography and variety.
I wasn't sure what to expect with "Freak Out". It blew me away. The singing was uplifting and the dancing and rollerskating kept me entertained! Great music. You can't beat the seventies!
Fun, animating, energizing, powerful and over the top A must see!
There is something powerful about a chorus of voices. I loved the music, and the choreography was delightful and amazing. This show really means "Christmas"to me. Thank you so much for the loveliest evening. My sisters and I loved it!!
First time to the show. Definitely will not be our last. Took my daughter for her birthday we had an amazing time. Wonderful music great singing, funny, good dancing. Loved the audience participation. If you are wondering if this is a show for you, go see it you won't be disappointed.
Loved all the funny dance scenes, wonderful tapping, and always the moving messages of peace and acceptance for everyone
It was such a fantastic show! We first went last year and plan to go next year. Everyone is so talented. We really liked the guest who won the super gay idle contest. She had such a great voice!
Lots of energy, singing and dancing with a dash of camp for good measure. All the performers were engaged and really exceeded my expectations. While audience participation isn’t my thing, there was zero pressure to participate (meaning I didn’t feel embarrassed because I didn’t sing along, etc). Loved the orchestra and the conductor too. It’s a great addition to holiday activities!
Amazing event watching the Mexico City and the San Diego choirs sing! I would give the event 5 stars except for the parking. I bought it with Ticketmaster. We put in the address from the web and when we got there the ticket was not recognized. So due to time we went in to park…only to find out that the entrance on the other side of the same garage was the correct entrance. So I paid $30 for parking instead of $10. It was frustrating and not the way to start a nice evening. Once there the event was marvelous.
I haven't been to many concerts. But I look forward to attending the next concert! I had such a great time this time. Very entertaining and I found myself smiling the whole time. It was very fun and having sat up in the balcony I still had a great view. The songs were great, the performance was awesome, and I loved the attire.
