Totally worth it! Wish I could have gone eveyday, So much things to do, watch and eat!! :-)
Enjoyed the fair! Bought a ticket package in advance for two people which was great except that there were not enough tickets for two people to play an equal amount of games and ride an equal amount of rides together. Overall easy to navigate, very friendly staff. If I could adopt the elderly women working the ride ticket booths and call them my own grandmas I would!! I think it would be fun to have more street performers for entertainment while you are walking around. Also think the games and rides are a little expensive. Six dollars a person to hike a piece of felt to the top of the slides is a lot....similar feelings for other rides.
FUN PACKAGE WITH TONS OF RIDE TICKETS AND GAME TICKETS AND FREE DRINKS, LOVED IT, HOP ON THE FERRIS WHEEL AND SEE THE OCEAN. THIS IS AN ANNUAL EVENT FOR US. BEST FAIR IN SO CALIFORNIA!
Great deal, especially game coupons! Looking forward to next year!
Loved everything about the fair. So glad we purchased ride tickets online
The event was great! Very family friendly. There was a little something for everyone. The "kids free" days were great as well. The kids zone was perfect for my little one and the fun zone was perfect for my older child. Haven't been to a fair like this since I was a little girl.
We've always gone to the Los Angeles County Fair at the Pomona Fairplex, but this year we decided to go to the San Diego County Fair in Del Mar and we were pleasantly surprised. It was well organized, parking was great (we paid the $20 for preferred parking which put us right at the entrance gate). The food was fabulous!!! And, even though it was very hot there was an occasional breeze from the ocean. The restrooms were very clean as attendants were on duty in each one the entire day to keep things clean and people moving in and out. We had a great day.
I bought tickets to the fair online because it saved me money. The Fair didn't do a good job on signs directing where to go. The line there was short, so if I would have went there first it would have been a fast process.
Spending quality time with my son and creating positive memories!
There's a profound lack of fun at the SD County Fair. Parking can be a NIGHTMARE (do NOT attend on the Albertson's Discount Tuesday), there's no where to sit down, they want to keep you on your feet and moving and consuming. Many of the traditional exhibits are fascinating, but an equal number of really loud and ugly rides/attractions are over-the-top unpleasant. Having the creepy carnies go "Uh, just a minute" when you pay for something with a $20 dollar bill was extremely unpleasant, as they disappeared, I presume to scan it and make sure it was genuine. The food consists of deep-fried everything. Overall it's too big, too loud and too ugly. A county fair ought to be enjoyable, not some kind of scene out of a nightmare. There's fun to be had, but you have to search for it and you have to ignore a lot of other crud and noise. Extremely crowded, very expensive for what it is, and the impression of being squeeze for money at every turn is distinctly unpleasant.
we visited mainly for kids and they just loved it. I am glad I could make it for the event and I am looking forward to it every year.
, Food very expensive! But one of the annual events to attend.
We really enjoyed seeing all the animals. The parking was convenient and free. It was nice that they separated the little kids and big kids. We enjoyed the butterfly farm and pretend farm.
Great deal if you want to see the free music concerts. Great variety of carnival rides. Great variety of things to see and do. Your quintessential fair with unhealthy fried fast food, sugar, noise, plastic and oversized stuffed prizes. Found the healthiest vendor and sat in the quiet garden area in back - was a good break from the crowds and noise. Great for the whole family, but if you have children with a wide range of ages, hard to please everybody, as the kid rides are on the opposite end of the fair. Lots of great free activities for lil' ones to do in the Infield. The turkey stampede was very fun. The butterfly tent was awesome!
Was too crowded and the gondola operators did not understand the meaning of "roundtrip". However the food and fireworks were deftinitely worth the trip and money.
The exhibit itself was very cool with lots of great stuff to see. BIG warning, no photography of any kind allowed. Lots of stuff to see, no way to image them to take with you. This really deflates the experience largely in my opinion otherwise I would have rated it five stars.
