For as much as Sammy Rae & The Friends may be a band, this collective of dreamers and artists considers themselves a family first. Fronted by singer and songwriter Sammy Rae, the group flourishes in any spotlight with a combination of all-for-one and one-for-all camaraderie, palpable chemistry, deft virtuosity, and vocal fireworks. Their sound is a mélange of Sammy's influences, rooted in classic rock, folk, and funk and sprinkled with soul and jazz.
Complete with a rhythm section, two saxophones, keyboards, and plenty of percussion, Sammy Rae & The Friends have delivered their high-energy, spirited and unrestrained shows to sold-out audiences around the US and Europe. Their newest single, "Closer To You," arrives just as Sammy Rae & The Friends gear up for gigs this summer at SummerStage NYC and Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, with a world tour scheduled for Fall 2023.

Sammie Rae and the Friends were fantastic as usual! Had a big crowd of my friends with me and everyone had a great time. Love them!

I had an absolutely fantastic time at the Sammy Rae & the Friends show at SummerStage. The only reason I will not give 5 stars is for two reasons: 1. I think water should have been more accessible. It was so hot out there that I felt like I was going to faint. I was not about to wait in line for 30 minutes to get Liquid Death, so luckily I asked one of the workers and they told me about the water station nearby. I would have loved it if there were at least one more water stations placed at the venue so that I would not have had to walk as far. 2. The speakers were a little bit loud. I know that going to a concert warrants loud speakers and ringing ears for the next couples days or so, but I felt that the volume could have been lowered a bit. OR another option could be the sale of earplugs should anyone want some. Other than those two things, the Sammy Rae concert was truly a spiritual and emotional experience for me!!
The venue was great. So glad I paid for bleacher seats. Would've been a very different experience. The grass was close to full by the time the show started. Sammy Rae and The Friends were so expressive and clearly having a great time on stage. Can't wait to see them again.

Sammie Rae and the Friends, as usual, were amazing. With the size of the crowd, those standing would have benefited with the video screens focused on the stage.
