sammy and the wabos -no mas-no mas

by sadaboutsam on 9/14/11LAKE TAHOE OUTDOOR ARENA AT HARVEYS - Stateline

The show started late, no opening act I guess? I read that Joe Satriani played the night before in Murphys California but was not at the Tahoe Show. Sammy barely played two hours and the sound was horrible. Half way through the show he put on some stupid alien mask and left the stage. It almost seemed as if he begrudingly returned to finish a short show. Sammy seemed as if he was going through the motions. I have seen Sammy with VH, with the Wabos, and Chickenfoot since I was 14. I watch his show in Tahoe at least once a year, if not twice a year and have never been disappointed until now. This show was the 18th time that I have seen Sammy and it will be my last. It is unfortunate that he blasted EVH in his book about going through the motions but it seems as if he is at this point himself. I have bragged about his live performances over the years to anyone who will listen and recommended to anyone who has not seen Sammy live. After the Tahoe show on 9.10.11, I will not be praising his performances, I realize that entertainers can have an off night for a variety of reasons, but we didn't even get a reason.

The show was fantastic, joe satriani was too good of a opening act but it still was great, sammy is awsome. Murphys is one of the best venues I have ever been to. I enjoyed the show very much

Sammy Hagar and the Wabos at Lake Tahoe

by Metal1961 on 9/13/11LAKE TAHOE OUTDOOR ARENA AT HARVEYS - Stateline

This was not one of Sammy’s best shows.. I have seen Sammy Hagar about 10 Times in the past and every show was outstanding!! The Songs were great, he interacted with the crowed and he was full of energy.. This show I didn’t see any of that out of him or the band.. Also to make matters worst, the show was delayed 45 minute and the band took another 20 minutes to get on stage and played for less than two hours. I’m a big Sammy/Chickenfoot and Van Halen fan, and I’m sure I will go see him again, but for the first time I will need to think about it before I buy my tickets.. Sammy, you and the band are better than that!! And with the economy so tough right now, I think we all deserve better when we spend our hard earn money to go and see a show.

    Lightning,Thunder, Sammy!

by Mommachick on 9/13/11LAKE TAHOE OUTDOOR ARENA AT HARVEYS - Stateline

A little ol' thunder storm couldn't keep the faithful out. The rain cleared two hours before the show. Sammy as usual was right on. The tequila was flowing the music was loud and a great time was had by all.

    Sammy rocked Murphy's (Ironstone Vineyards)

by FatVal on 9/13/11Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - Murphys

Sammy Hagar knows how to rock, and indeed he did! He was in a great mood because he had never played @ Ironstone Vineyards in Murphy's, California. (He kept calling it Murphyville or Murphytown...Ha!) What an amazing venue! It was definitely worth the drive there! (An hour and 45 mins from Sacramento) Sammy's voice is still as strong as it has ever been. He jammed on his guitar, he danced & skipped around the stage as if he was still in his 30's (he's twice that age!!) and he joked & teased the crowd. Great show! Great songs! Great time!

Sammy and the Wabos in Lake Tahoe

by 4952 on 9/13/11LAKE TAHOE OUTDOOR ARENA AT HARVEYS - Stateline

Sammy never lets you down when you go and see him in a concert whether it be the Red Rocker or with a group! My first concert was Sammy Hagar , the Red Rocker at the Cow Palace, San Bruno in the early 1980's with my younger brother. This time my husband and I went because we have been wanting to see Sammy Hagar. He put on an unforgettable show and would have loved a chance to meet him and the rest of the Wabos. Look forward to our next "Sammy Concert" and want to be in with the fans behind the stage this time.

Sammy and the Wabos in Tahoe!

by spsangui on 9/13/11LAKE TAHOE OUTDOOR ARENA AT HARVEYS - Stateline

I took my wife to go see Sammy and the Wabo's in Tahoe as a birthday weekend for her. There were some thundershowers in the afternoon, and an alert was sent out to let us know that the concert would start 45 minutes late...excellent feature. The venue was small and intimate, but supplied all you needed for food/beverage/stuff to buy areas. Sammy and the Wabos played for about 2 hours and I have to say that Sammy sounded great. He played the Ironstone venue the night before, but Sammy still had tons of energy to give to the crowd playing a back to back. His song list covered the entire gammit of his career from Montrose to Sammy's solo stuff, to Van Hagar and then to Sammy's Wabo's/Chickenfoot era.

    so so

by MtnGal75234 on 9/13/11Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - Murphys

Sammy seemed a little off. The timing was not great. Songs did not flow from one to another. He did tell several funny stories. At one point he said "I hope there isn't a curfew here" but then just 2 songs later he abruptly stopped playing and left the stage. He did come back and do 2 more songs as an encore. It just didn't seem like a long enough show. I've been to several concerts at Ironstone and this was the least enjoyable. I really thought this would be a high energy, ear pounding show. But it was slow, too many breaks in the music. Joe Satriani played great. Even though I don't really like music without words, I enjoyed his talent. The sound system was set up better for Joe than for Sammy too...Joe's part of the show sounded way, way better.

    Hagar

by Mach5000 on 9/13/11LAKE TAHOE OUTDOOR ARENA AT HARVEYS - Stateline

The show started late. It rained. Sammy was good but if your only going to play for an hour hour and fifteen minutes. You should think about an opening band. I thought it was going to be like going to a Rush concert no opening band. 3 hours of Sammy Hagar no such luck Sammy only played hour and 15 minutes. Rush will play for 3 hours!

by SwimFreak on 9/13/11Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - Murphys

I loved the venue and will look for more concerts at this facility. A beautiful place to see a concert. Joe. Satriani opened for Sammy. The whole show was on point. The sound system was awesome and all the rockers were great!!!!
