Sam Smith is definitely the new crooner in town. We got to the venue a bit late and was stuck all the way in the back, but we still had a great view and the acoustics were awesome. It's refreshing to hear artists like Sam Smith. There are tons of amazing artists in the UK.

About
Sam Smith has been captivating audiences with their unique high tenor since first appearing as the vocalist on Disclosure’s 2012 single “Latch.” In 2014, the London-born singer instantly became one of the UK’s greatest pop exports after releasing their first album, In the Lonely Hour, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart and went on to achieve platinum certification five times over in the U.S. The album also earned Smith four Grammys, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year (for the Darkchild remix of “Stay with Me”), as well as Best New Artist. Smith then co-wrote and performed the opening theme “Writing’s on the Wall” for the 2015 James Bond film Spectre, which earned them an Academy Award. In 2023, Smith released their fourth full-length, Gloria, featuring the Grammy-winning Kim Petras duet, “Unholy,” which became the singer’s first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 — and the first song by an openly non-binary artist and transgender artist, respectively, to reach the chart’s top spot.

Rating: 5 out of 5by Anonymous on 9/19/14Echostage - Washington Rating: 5 out of 5 Sam Smith was breathtaking!
by Anonymous on 9/19/14Echostage - WashingtonThe show was opened by Broods, a band from New Zealand that I had not heard of but really enjoyed. The lead had a unique and fantastic voice and their music was catchy and upbeat. Definitely going to download some of their songs! When Sam Smith came to the stage, the entire crowd went wild! The doors opened at 7pm and Sam didn't come on until 9pm which was irritating but proved to be well worth the wait. He voice is absolutely flawless and sounds the same in person as it does on the album. He did a few throw backs, mostly songs from his new album and some covers of female divas like Whitney Houston. He was incredibly humble and charming on stage and I would absolutely recommend that anyone go see him live if given the chance.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Just as Amazing Live
by Michie12 on 9/19/14Echostage - WashingtonConsidering the kind of material that Sam sings, you would expect the show to be a lot of slow ballads. However, he managed to make the show really balanced with uptempo songs and ballads mixed in. He also has a charisma on stage that just makes you fall in love with him in person. He even managed to get us to dance a little bit and two step in a crowd! He did not disappoint and was able to go through all the songs that are well known. So unless you know nothing from him, it will be hard to not find something to sing along to. I was fortunate enough to catch him in one of three places on the East Coast and thank goodness because the show was amazing. One of the best I have been to this year. Go see him live!! It is worth it!

Rating: 4 out of 5 Excellent Sam Smith concert
by cmt62 on 9/18/14House of Blues Boston - BostonSam Smith was charming and his voice was excellent. I wasn't overwhelmed by the arrangements he chose for some of his hit songs. I thought he slowed them down too much, but his voice made them great. He had good interaction with the crowd and told some personal stories. The one thing that was disappointing was how Ticketmaster handled entry to the show. There was a long line (around 3 blocks) that didn't have to happen. I thought it was mishandled.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Sam Smith - Brilliant
by Peaches16 on 9/18/14House of Blues Boston - BostonWhat a phenomenal show. This guy is destined for the huge arena's. He is a genuine star who has the personality and voice of his generation. He is as humble and talented as his Adele and will be as big a name as hers shortly. Not a note out of place and brought the house down with his rendition of Whitney Houston's :How Will I Know."
Rating: 5 out of 5 Truly one of the best voices around---Sam did not
by ILUVPARIS on 9/18/14House of Blues Boston - BostonTruly superb and worth the wait standing in the world's longest line to get in. His voice was incredible. He did mostly his first album + a few others from earlier material. Get tickets if you can!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 Sam Smith was Perfect, The Apollo? Not So Much
by Anonymous on 6/20/14Apollo Theater - New YorkSam Smith was amazing, if you get the opportunity to see him, do not hesitate! It is so worth it. The Apollo was very disappointing... between the acoustics and seats.
Rating: 5 out of 5by Anonymous on 6/20/14Apollo Theater - New York Everything about this concert was amazing! One of the best I've ever been to. I would see Sam Smith again in a heartbeat.
Rating: 5 out of 5by Maurina on 4/25/14The Belasco Theater - Los Angeles Sam Smith was AMAZING. Despite arriving almost 4 hours early and having to stand for about 6 hours, it was all worth it. My friend and I were able to get front row spots, which was ideal since it was my first actual concert. The venue is in a good location; it's in close proximity to several food places which is convenient when you get hungry in line. The opening act, Keeta, did a great job and I loved some of the songs she sang. I feel like most people didn't enjoy her performances as much because they didn't know her and also because they were so anxious for Sam to come on. One main problem is that the ticket stub said 7pm. This was the time when ticket holders were able to come into the venue. I recommend that they put in the actual show time. However I understand why they do this. Overall, the event was very fun and it made me more excited and anxious for Sam's album to be released.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Pleasantly surprised
by SmilingMona on 4/22/14The Belasco Theater - Los AngelesI've been following Sam Smith for awhile and was hesitant that he had a tour before his album release. But he was great! he sounded exactly like his EPs and had such a sweet charm while performing. He's very humbled by his success which is good to know. My only complaint was when 50% of Disclosure showed up that he would perform the original version of "Latch." That would have gotten the crowd dancing.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Amazing
by Latingman on 4/22/14The Belasco Theater - Los AngelesSam Smith is Amazing in concert, I would perfer a seating venue then a standing room only. There where to meny annoying young kids pushing and complaining how long they had to stand.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Sam Smith is amazing and already a superstar!
by NMonks on 4/21/14The Belasco Theater - Los AngelesSam Smith is crazy talented and takes you under his spell instantly!! He is unspoiled and humble, yet he confidently uses his gift to the max and gives you an experience of a lifetime when he starts to sing. If you ever get the chance, go to his concert!
Rating: 5 out of 5 Legendary talent in the making: Sam Smith
by huangela on 4/21/14The Belasco Theater - Los AngelesHe has a voice like no other. Seeing Sam Smith live was an unforgettable experience. I'm addicted to his EP Nirvana and he sounds even better in person! Everyone with ears, you NEED to check his music out.

Rating: 5 out of 5 GO SEE SAM SMITH
by Cjmirvine on 4/19/14The Belasco Theater - Los AngelesSam Smith was incredible. His voice sounds exactly like the recording and he sounds so humble and sincere when talking to the audience and giving background to songs. However, the opener was trash. Her name was peeta i think and she was such a try hard and did not have a unique sound. I tried to give her a chance but no she was that bad. Luckily sam saved the show for me.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Loved Sam Smith!!!
by mTorres88 on 4/19/14The Belasco Theater - Los AngelesSam Smiths performance was astonishing! I loved everything about it. From the music to the people. The ambience there felt very intimate as it was a small venue. And a big plus was that Sam kept making eye contact with the audience as he sang. I hope he comes back to LA again soon.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Sam Smith's voice is wonderfully silky
by ablankspace on 4/19/14The Belasco Theater - Los AngelesApart from the sleazy couples who were grinding up on each other around me, Sam Smith was an amazing show and I'm so glad I got to see him live in a small venue.
