About

Sam Smith has been captivating audiences with their unique high tenor since first appearing as the ebullient vocalist on Disclosure’s 2012 breakout single “Latch.” At only 22, the London-born singer instantly became one of the UK’s greatest pop exports after releasing their first album, In the Lonely Hour (2014), which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart and went on to achieve platinum certification five times over in the U.S. The album also earned Smith four Grammys, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year (for the Darkchild remix of “Stay with Me”), as well as Best New Artist. Smith then co-wrote and performed the opening theme “Writing’s on the Wall” for the 2015 James Bond film Spectre, which earned them an Academy Award. Smith’s 2017 sophomore album The Thrill of It All cemented their place at pop music’s forefront, opening atop the Billboard 200, while 2020’s Love Goes boasted collaborations with genre-leading contemporaries like Calvin Harris, Normani, Burna Boy and Demi Lovato. In 2023, Smith released their fourth full-length, Gloria, featuring the Grammy-winning Kim Petras duet, “Unholy,” which became the singer’s first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 — and the first song by an openly non-binary artist and transgender artist, respectively, to reach the chart’s top spot.

  • Lines are too long, entry and exit are smooth

by Kalei on 8/28/23Rating: 4 out of 5

Entering the venue was very simple and the ticketing process + metal detector went smoothly. The biggest areas for improvement from my perspective are the merchandise booths and the bathroom lines. They're just too long. There needs to be at least two merchandise areas at the venue and they need to be staffed by more people to make the lines shorter. With the bathrooms, the fact that there are two entries to the restrooms and only a few stalls per restroom make the lines terribly long at key points of the show when most people are going to try and use the restroom. It's just a painful process. Exiting the venue was pretty painless and straightforward.

  • Underwhelming

by Iesha on 8/28/23Rating: 3 out of 5

This was a decent venue but the show itself was lacking. There was no real show production, stage presence, or audience interaction. The energy was very low across the board. as a huge fan of Sam smith I was underwhelmed with his entire set & performance. The opening act was a great start to the show however. She was great & gained a new fan For sure.

  • Good concert, glad I went

Jesse Reyes was great, she’s very underrated artist. Sam was beautifully talented. His stage, dancers and singers were all fantastic.

Truly enjoyed the concert. Obviously, he is one of the best male vocalist and it didn’t disappoint. Besides, he showed us that he’s a good performer as well! Love it ❤️❤️❤️

Visiting Portland and decided to see Sam Smith as a last minute decision. What a great decision! Amazing show, incredible voice and enthusiastic audience. The venue is the perfect size with perfect acoustics! A night with my beautiful niece I will never forget. ❤️❤️

  • Flawless

by Amber on 8/28/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Sam Smith is a legend! He is so talented and his vocals are just absolutely flawless. He sang his heart out and we could all feel his love. The ensemble performance was entertaining and energetic! Worth every penny of the ticket price. It was a masterpiece of an art, music, costume, special effects, and dance show.

  • Wow

  • superior experience

by iamcarrie on 8/28/23Rating: 5 out of 5

over the top perfection. freeing. fun, singing and dancing along. Sam Smith is gorgeous and i really wanted to slap their belly lol. the concert and the amazing artist and staging elevated who i am… i am 70 and really felt like getting naked in the stands! unheard of for me to get close to feeling like that. thank you Sam for all that you have evolved to be and in showing the vulnerability and imperfections we all hold in our bodies and psyches.

  • Great Concert; Less Than Perfect Staff

by DaniLavell on 8/28/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Incredible show, the lighting and stage decor was amazing as well as the performers! Sam Smith was just as ethereal and beautiful as ever! The venue staff could’ve been more diligent and efficient in their organization of getting patrons in and out of the venue smoothly. They let a lot of people who hadn’t been standing in line for hours bypass security and get a better spot in the venue- which seemed very unfair to me as well as a lot of other concert goers who had taken the time to wait for hours in preparation. They were ill-prepared for the crowd to go through screening and it showed. They were asking other staff what to do in the moment, and it made them vulnerable to people bypassing screening and taking advantage of the situation. The staff also could’ve been a LOT better at helping people out of the venue. We were told to take an elevator to leave the venue, but without specific instructions as far as which floor or any other helpful details. Finally a manager helped us navigate our way to the ground floor to find transportation and head home safely. All in all, perfect show- but less than perfect staff organization at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.

  • First Concert

by FC on 8/26/23Rating: 5 out of 5

This was my partner’s and I fist Sam Smith and Jessie Reyez concert ever. Both of them were amazing and really enjoyed their performance. I loved how they connected with us and interjected with all the audience. I am for sure going to see them when able to do so.

  • First Half Was Great - Second Half Didn't Flow Well

by KB on 8/26/23Rating: 3 out of 5

Loved the sound of Sam's voice and his most popular hits. He was great about interacting with the crowd. Outfit changes --- pretty good, but they didn't seem to have a good flow to them. The dancers were distracting and seemed really out of place. Didn't enjoy them at all. Ended with the Gay Cabaret. Didn't remind me of any cabaret I've seen. Didn't seem like entertainment, rather more of attempting a shock factor. Disappointed. I should have read the earlier concert reviews prior to buying tix. There were a lot of empty seats and the floor was half filled.
