This is the 10th year for me seeing this show. It never gets old. However, it may be my last. Horseshoe prices are so much more than Star Plaza was. I paid less and Star Plaza and it included dinner. The other drawback for the Horseshoe is the smoking that is allowed. Even though it's not allowed in the theater that smell still lingers.
Show and Casino were good... But traveling through some sketchy neigborhoods to get there ans was even worse leaving at 11:30 at night and driving through an industrial area to get back to the motel and also Lake effect snow and below zero conditions. Will not go back if it is here next year.
I'm 63 years old - my two daughters, ages 42 and 39 grew up with me playing this wonderful music, so naturally, they attended with me! Even my mom, who's 86, came along, and she enjoyed it because she heard me playing this music when I was a kid! The only suggestion I have is to maybe have some other groups - there were so many of them!!!! We love, love, love this show!
We had a great time. I would have paid the ticket price to see any one of the three bands. Grass Roots were fabulous - they played their favorites and some newer music - their voices were wonderful. Then the Buckingham's came on also wonderful, great voices and music. Couldn't have been better. Finally, Peter Noone and Herman's Hermits came on. I've never laughed so hard at a concert before, again music was great and Peter's voice is 100% wonderful. I know it must seem odd to the musicians that so many of us come to hear them but also sing along but that's what we did listening to them on a transistor radio! way back when. We'll make this an annual event. Well, worth any ticket price! Also, very accessible for anyone handicapped.
Once again this show provided a trip down memory lane through the music I listened to back in the 60's. Pleasant memories of high school, dances, and dear friends were shaken loose from the cobwebs in my mind. Since I went with my BFF since high school (over 53 years of friendship), there were a lot of "remember when" moments for us. We look forward to coming to this show every year. It is a chance to slow down and take a moment to remember when all we had to worry about was what dance was coming up and who we'd be going with. Definitely helps decompress from the crazy junk going on in the world today. The "meet & greet" after each group is also a great way to get your album autographed or just say hello to the groups.
Have seen this show five times. Enjoyed every time
Been going for a least 20 years the show is great love it.
This show had been at the Star Plaza Theatre in Merrilville In.for over 25 years. Moved to the Venue this year due to Star Plaza being shut down. Great music by The Grass Roots, Buckinghams, and Pete Noone( Herman’s Hermits). Energetic and lots of fun. Will be back next year for sure.
Loved Herman’s Hermits!! Totally going to see them again! Great show!
As usual, all three bands were incredible. Can’t wait to see them again
Went to see theGrass Roots and they were so awesome but the big surprise was Peter Noone! What a performer! He really gives his all, in the vein of great Vegas entertainers.
Saw Salute to the 60's for the 27th year in a row last Saturday night. That statement alone tells you what a great show it is. The Grassroots and the Buckinghams were both great as usual. Then Peter Noone with his Herman's Hermits comes on and the energy Peter puts out with all his great songs is amazing. His voice is even better than it was in the 60's and he seems to have a lot of fun doing the show. Thanks to Charlie Blum for all the years he has kept booking this show, even though they tore down our theater and he had to find a new one!
This is the second time I've seen this show and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time!
I’ve seen Salute to the 60’s concert more than 5 years in a row. It is always amazing. I plan to go again next year too.
The whole entire experience from the Venue to the Salute to the Sixties was by far the best out of five years in a row I’ve seen this show!!
The Show was as good as always. A little different atmosphere than we are used to. The seating at the Venue is great. Doesn't appear to be a bad seat anywhere. Peter Noone is definitely our favorite.
I would see the show again. It was great! Could go year after year.
Loved all of the show including the Grass Roots and the Buckinghams. Always putting on a great show. I will be back to see them again.
The Grassroots were great. They did all their hits and sounded fantastic. Nice tribute to the Veterans. Class act. The Buckinghams still have their terrific sound. The brass brought me back to the sock hops, and the tribute to Chicago was spot on. Nick's solo was a display of his many talents. Loved it. Peter Noone and the Hermits were spectacular!! They get better all the time. What showmen. The Tom Jones, Johnny Cash and Mick Jagger sets were phenomonal. Peter has an incredible range and is so talented. He kept the audience so engaged. He is truly a master entertainer. All three bands really enjoy what they do and it shows. I can't wait for next year.
