SALT-N-PEPA IN CONCERT:

As one of the first female rap crews in history, Salt-n-Pepa became virtually synonymous with the brand of bump n' grind hip hop that dominated airwaves in the late '80s/early '90s. With their stylish image and candid, cheeky lyrics, Salt, Pepa, and DJ Spinderella struck a major chord with audiences that continues to reverberate today at their electrifying live shows. Whether fans are out to hear "Push It," "Shoop," or "Whatta Man," Salt-n-Pepa will deliver all the hits and more on their 2014 tour dates with fellow legends New Edition.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Representing Brooklyn and Queens, Salt-n-Pepa formed in 1985, blazing a trail for women in hip hop with their platinum-selling 1986 debut LP Hot, Cool & Vicious. The albums biggest hit "Push It" topped charts around the world, launching them to international superstardom and sparking extensive global touring. After several more successful albums, the trio scored another worldwide hit with 1991's "Let's Talk About Sex," a frank discussion of safe sex that was later reworked as political jam "Let's Talk About AIDS." The height of their fame, however, came in 1993 with Very Necessary, their top-selling album to date and the vessel for smash hits "Shoop" and "Whatta Man." Reuniting in 2007 after a five-year hiatus, Salt-n-Pepa proved they could still pump up the jams, giving fans plenty to be excited about as they hit the road for another electrifying tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Salt n Pepa brought the house down! Music was pumping, DJ's were bumping, the dancers were vibing and Salt n Pepa brought it! The crowd was so charged thanks to the energy of the dynamic duo and their team."

"Salt-n-Pepa can still bring it. The entire theater was up on their feet singing, dancing, and cheering."

"Amazing show. They performed all the classics and even did a great tip of the hat to other R&B / hip hop acts that came before and after them."

The worst concert I have ever been to

by nalaweimer on 11/9/10Reliant Arena - Houston

This was really a bad concert, concert hall was empty. Artists sang very few songs, sound was horrible. A waste of money.

THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME ATTENDING A CONCERT SINCE THE 90'S!!! I ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE OF THE FRESH FEST CONCERT!!! I WAS A BIT DISAPPOINTED THAT DOUGIE FRESH DID NOT APPEAR, BUT THE PERFORMERS WERE ABLE TO COMPENSATE FOR HIS ABSENCE. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE!!!!!!!

Salt n Pepa brought the house down!!!

by boricuashorty on 11/8/10Reliant Arena - Houston

Overall I think the concert was great. It's a shame Doug E Fresh couldnt make it but that's ok. The only set back was Naughty By Nature's inability to refrain from all the foul language and one of the members of the duo feeling the need to pull his pants down so all could see his underwear. To me, that was particularly uncalled for.

It would have been better with more artist. I didn't like Treche pulling his pants down at all!!!! That type of foolishness was some what I was trying to get away from by attending an old school concert. I enjoyed seeing Curtis Blow and Slick Rick. Salt and Pepper Rocked it!!

Fresh Fest was awesome! Great music, great crowd. Listening to all of the old-school rap artists was like taking a step back in time. The entire concert was just incredibly fun. Made me feel like a teenager again. I would definitely recommend this to a friend and I would certainly go to a similar concert in the future.

    AWESOME!!!!!

    by Renee001 on 11/8/10Reliant Arena - Houston

This concert was exactly what I needed. All of the artist was remarkable and the crowd acted in a mature manner. It is refreshing to attend a hip hop event that didn't conclude with drama. Looking forward to more concerts for the mature hip-hop lovers. Thank you for bringing them to Houston.

Fresh Fest... Audio could have been better

    by Char0221 on 11/8/10Reliant Arena - Houston

This was a good time to go old school. The sound could have been a LOT better and the set seemed to be very short for the price.

    Salt N Pepa were Wonderful

by TazsAngel on 11/8/10Reliant Arena - Houston

Salt N Pepa and Kid N Play were wonderful they had a great time the entire night. The major problem with the show is that the mic were way too low so you could barely understand the words the performers were saying

Loved Salt n Pepa and Naughty by Nature

    by precious210 on 11/8/10Reliant Arena - Houston

It was a good show- sadly it was a VERY small audience. Tickets were overpriced for the amount of people that actually showed up. Performers and DJ was very entertaining.

    Good but not great

by AJones on 11/8/10Reliant Arena - Houston

Unfortunately, Doug E Fresh was not there due to illness. My friends and i did have a great time but i thought the performers should have played more of their famous songs. Seems like Salt n Pepa only played 3-4 songs and they were the headliners. More than 1/2 the place was empty-marketing or venue should have been better.

    FRESH 2 DEF!!

    by AngieC912 on 11/8/10Reliant Arena - Houston

I am an avid concert goer and this concert has easily made it to my Top 10 list. It was so much fun and such a good party. All the acts were great and put on a good show!! To see Kurtis Blow, Kid n Play, Slick Rick (although without Dougie Fresh), Naughty by Nature, and Salt N Pepa perform was beyond awesome. I bugged out the entire time and everyone looked so good and it brought back so many memories!!
