SALT-N-PEPA IN CONCERT:

As one of the first female rap crews in history, Salt-n-Pepa became virtually synonymous with the brand of bump n' grind hip hop that dominated airwaves in the late '80s/early '90s. With their stylish image and candid, cheeky lyrics, Salt, Pepa, and DJ Spinderella struck a major chord with audiences that continues to reverberate today at their electrifying live shows. Whether fans are out to hear "Push It," "Shoop," or "Whatta Man," Salt-n-Pepa will deliver all the hits and more on their 2014 tour dates with fellow legends New Edition.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Representing Brooklyn and Queens, Salt-n-Pepa formed in 1985, blazing a trail for women in hip hop with their platinum-selling 1986 debut LP Hot, Cool & Vicious. The albums biggest hit "Push It" topped charts around the world, launching them to international superstardom and sparking extensive global touring. After several more successful albums, the trio scored another worldwide hit with 1991's "Let's Talk About Sex," a frank discussion of safe sex that was later reworked as political jam "Let's Talk About AIDS." The height of their fame, however, came in 1993 with Very Necessary, their top-selling album to date and the vessel for smash hits "Shoop" and "Whatta Man." Reuniting in 2007 after a five-year hiatus, Salt-n-Pepa proved they could still pump up the jams, giving fans plenty to be excited about as they hit the road for another electrifying tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Salt n Pepa brought the house down! Music was pumping, DJ's were bumping, the dancers were vibing and Salt n Pepa brought it! The crowd was so charged thanks to the energy of the dynamic duo and their team."

"Salt-n-Pepa can still bring it. The entire theater was up on their feet singing, dancing, and cheering."

"Amazing show. They performed all the classics and even did a great tip of the hat to other R&B / hip hop acts that came before and after them."

    Such a Disappointment

by NMendez on 9/20/16Selland Arena at Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center - Fresno

We've been to a few concerts of this type and this one was the worst one ever! It was so bad we left at the second intermission.

    Disappointment

by myoma on 8/2/16Verizon Arena - North Little Rock

No one sang a complete song; more DJ than show; performers needed backup. A lot of odd music mixing. I would have been more entertained listening to the radio.

    Fun concert

by Pharmhog on 8/1/16Verizon Arena - North Little Rock

This concert was all about nostalgia and fun, and to that goal it was a great success. There were no Grammy worthy performances but none were expected. It was nice to see the artists you grew up listening to. Time was kinder to some than others, but for the most part all of the artists put on a good show. Tone Loc and Young MC were out of breath and visibly tired, but then so was I. Salt N Pepa, Kid'N Play, and Vanilla Ice absolutely killed it. Some backup singers and dancers would have been nice but the audience participation made up for some of that. All in all, it was a good trip down memory lane and everyone had a good time.

    Poorly coordinated

by Sheray13 on 8/1/16Verizon Arena - North Little Rock

Each individual artist did pretty good, although there were minimal stage props. However, the transition from artist to artist took too long. The lights would come up and the on-stage DJ would play music. A lot of the artists would do crowd interaction that had already been done. I just don't think that this concert had the funding that it needed to take the tour.

    Cut Vanilla Ice

by Sherrill73 on 8/1/16Verizon Arena - North Little Rock

The DJ first of all was fantastic, it had the feel of a party not a concert and the acts were great. Sat and Peppa should have been the headliner without a doubt . They put on a great show. Vanilla Ice had a creepy clown and just wasn't good. People left on him. Take him out and add someone good like some real OG rapper.

I really had no expectations before going to the concert. I had a lot of fun but I did hear others saying they were disappointed. I really enjoyed the concert and would go back to see them again.

by AllieBubblez on 8/1/16Verizon Arena - North Little Rock

Every artist who preformed that night was great. Theread was so much energy and the music was amazing. The dj's where great and played a little bit of everything and it got the crowd up and jump like for real jumping and singing along. I loved Vanilla Ice's ending for everyone to come get a selfie.

by Scrob on 8/1/16Verizon Arena - North Little Rock

Absolutely great concert. It took me back to growing up in the Ville (Jacksonville). I would love to see more old school hip hop acts. There were several I never got to see perform.

The show was fun, lively, and exciting. I enjoyed the throw back songs they performed. However, I would have liked them to play more of their own songs. They really didn't perform on stage for very long.

    Awesome! I Love the 90s!

by JBennett2 on 6/13/16KFC Yum! Center - Louisville

The concert was fantastic. The concert lasted about 4 hours with an act playing about 20 minutes each. Each of the acts played all the old favorites. They also threw in a few old school hip hop songs that weren't their songs but everyone knew. I loved reliving all my old favorites. My only criticism is that they should have had a comedian or a DJ in between acts. The MC that transitioned the acts was terrible, the flow was off when he took stage. Also, they did a tribute to Muhamed Ali, which was great, but many people thought it was over and left early.

    I love the 90's

by Raynebug79 on 6/8/16KFC Yum! Center - Louisville

We had a great time! Took my daughter for her 18th birthday present. Was kind of disappointed that Tone Loc was not there as supposed to be but was shocked to see Coolio instead! Salt N Pepa only sang 2 of their owns songs, quite disappointed with that, as well as a lot of other concert goers! Over all had a good time.

    I loved the 90's

by Anonymous on 6/8/16KFC Yum! Center - Louisville

Keeping it real- I love 90's music. It was so awesome having all my favorites together. But somethings could be improved. The MC was awful. Sexist and disgusting. He spent too much time talking. We had a lot of time in between acts and honestly we would've rather the awesome DJ that was playing before the show started would've played between the acts. He was amazing. And the group Color Me Badd should just retire. It was painful to watch. Everyone else rocked it.

    I was so disappointed!!!!!!!

by Anonymous on 6/7/16KFC Yum! Center - Louisville

when I was growing up in middle school and high school, all of these songs brings back a lot of memories of my wonderful younger years when I listen to them. Wanted to relive those days at this concert but I was really disappointed. I was mostly looking forward to seeing Salt N Peppa, but they did not play any of the old favorites and did not sound the same AT ALL. Actually the only artist that sounded the same as back then was Coolio. I paid $195.00 for two tickets on the floor and they were horrible. Could not see the stage and people on it.
