SALT-N-PEPA IN CONCERT:
As one of the first female rap crews in history, Salt-n-Pepa became virtually synonymous with the brand of bump n' grind hip hop that dominated airwaves in the late '80s/early '90s. With their stylish image and candid, cheeky lyrics, Salt, Pepa, and DJ Spinderella struck a major chord with audiences that continues to reverberate today at their electrifying live shows. Whether fans are out to hear "Push It," "Shoop," or "Whatta Man," Salt-n-Pepa will deliver all the hits and more on their 2014 tour dates with fellow legends New Edition.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Representing Brooklyn and Queens, Salt-n-Pepa formed in 1985, blazing a trail for women in hip hop with their platinum-selling 1986 debut LP Hot, Cool & Vicious. The albums biggest hit "Push It" topped charts around the world, launching them to international superstardom and sparking extensive global touring. After several more successful albums, the trio scored another worldwide hit with 1991's "Let's Talk About Sex," a frank discussion of safe sex that was later reworked as political jam "Let's Talk About AIDS." The height of their fame, however, came in 1993 with Very Necessary, their top-selling album to date and the vessel for smash hits "Shoop" and "Whatta Man." Reuniting in 2007 after a five-year hiatus, Salt-n-Pepa proved they could still pump up the jams, giving fans plenty to be excited about as they hit the road for another electrifying tour.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Salt n Pepa brought the house down! Music was pumping, DJ's were bumping, the dancers were vibing and Salt n Pepa brought it! The crowd was so charged thanks to the energy of the dynamic duo and their team."
"Salt-n-Pepa can still bring it. The entire theater was up on their feet singing, dancing, and cheering."
"Amazing show. They performed all the classics and even did a great tip of the hat to other R&B / hip hop acts that came before and after them."
Though the show was a good show they only played for 50 minutes. For money paid way to short on stage.
Salt n Pepa literally had the floor moving ! Everyone was on their feet moving , dancing ... Great show , can’t wait to see them again !
I was extremely disappointed. They were on stage for roughly fifty mins.
The show was great, dj played prior to the show and he was great. Salt and pepper performance was great also but it only lasted 25-30 minutes which was extremely disappointing
This was the worst concert I have ever been to. They didn’t play any song in its entirety and it was over in 45 minutes. Don’t waste your money on this concert.
Only performed 45 min. Didn’t finish a complete song
Salt n Pepa was fantastic, however the show was only 45 minutes long. I was a little disappointed in how short it was, but I was definitely entertained the entire time.
I have been to their concerts in the past but this one was so disappointing. The concert started at 8:10 and lasted until 8:55. I paid 200.00 for tickets for it to last 45 minutes. I love their music and they put on a good show in the past so I do not know if it was because it was held at the Hard Rock Casino or what but I was let down. The best part was Spinderella & the back up dancers because they rocked it. I will end up seeing them again in May with New Kids on The Block so maybe it was just because of the casino. I hope so...
I loved the show! The energy from Salt 'N Pepa and stage crew/performers, from the start, was very high and on point! I would definitely go to another concert at Morongo again!
It was bad. Except for Color me Bad and All 4 one nobody could sing. Sound was bad. They all yelled in the mikes and needed backup. They didn't sing their own hits and sang covers. They wasted time bringing tons of people on stage. Too disorganized and too much time between acts,. Everyone walked out during Vanilla Ice's act. I went with my high school girlfriend ( we are in our 40's) and grew up on this music. We paid $101 each for the tickets, had an obstructed view due to large speakers on side of stage. We had a few laughs dancing to a few songs, but it as really a huge disappointment.
it was ok. couldn't see from the back, it was in the flat room and we are short. music was muffled for the most part. a lot of feedback. the show was just ok, disappointed
My girls and I could not wait for a short get away after a crazy year at work. We all grew up listening to this music and were looking forward to a night of dancing and drinks. Coolio opened the show and was amazing! Rob Base made you feel like it was 1990 all over again and Salt N Pepa had some HOT HOT HOT men on stage with them. I would like to know who the saxophone player for Rob Base was, he was GORGEOUS!! Vanilla Ice threw water all over people along with the entire water bottle, he then invited about 50 women on stage to dance along with him. It took away from the show and in turn made people leave before they would have. I am going to this same show in February in Erie Pa, and I hope by then Vanilla Ice has heard how awful of a show he puts on and changes his act!
Salt n peppa were great the crowd interaction was good I had a lot of fun with them. But vanilla ice was by far the best out of everyone. He kept everything interesting he could have done a few more of his own songs but the fact that he allowed people on stage danced sang threw water bottles into the crowd freestyled and had confetti I have to say his concert was the second best I've ever been to in my life! Really hope he comes back soon!!!!!!!!!!!! I will definitely buy tickets if he does. I could have definitely lived without coolio he was boring and barely performed, and rob base was ok but again I could have lived without. I thought the Dj between sets was more entertaining than coolio. Come back soon vanilla!!!!!!!
This show was a great visit to my teenage years. All the acts were engaging and entertaining, but Salt n Pepa killed it. They were great. Vanilla Ice was a close second! Thanks for putting this show together.
Great concert, was free to move around. Able to get up and dance with Vanilla Ice!! It was GREAT!!
Over all it was a very good concert I really enjoyed the show the only thing I didn't like was they were on BPT instead of regular time so they started late so the concert didn't end till 1100
The concert was awesome, the artists were great. Big shout out to CandyMan who took the time to take pictures and sign autographs for the fans.
I went to see S-N-P and Color Me Badd mainly. But the other bands did their thing well also, especially Klymaxx! Those ladies look amazing to this day and can still belt out 'Meeting in the Ladies Room'. S-N-P were amazing to see live!! They still know how to put on a great show and get the crowd pupmin'! They played all of their hits except for like 2 that I really wanted to hear but oh well maybe next time they come...If you've never had the pleasure to see this influential hip hip group- Do It!! Salt N Pepa Foreva!!!
Awesome show, lots of breaks could have use a better introductory crew. I myself in my 40s appreciated the opportunity to take a trip back to the time I enjoyed growing up. Loved the music, love the artists, enjoyed the show.
This event description suggested that it was going to have several old school bands playing, the only one that was real was Salt N Pepa, up until then their were several impersonators and bands, no one has hear of. I want my money back.
