    TOP OF HIS GAME

by LAIDinUSA on 6/13/10The Music Box - Hollywood

i had been waiting years to see Sage perform again because he always puts on a great show. i'm not a fan of rap or hip-hop (especially live) but there's something about his style that i truly do like. it's not just his lyrics but the music is more rock oriented which always gets the crowd really hyped. i'm looking forward to the next show already.

    A Genius in the Flesh...

by DavidandMelissa on 6/9/10The Music Box - Hollywood

Seriously this concert with Sage Francis was truly an unforgettable experience He has an amazing stage presence and puts on an even more incredible show. The LI(F)E tour is a must-see.. The live rock/rap performance was incredibly well put together and to hear sage in person the lyrics hit you harder than ever before. It is the best show I have ever been to. I took my wife with me and she enjoyed it so much... She even commented on it being one of the best shows she has ever seen in here life and she has seen ALOT of artists perform. Not only that, Sage is as real as they come, he doesn't put on any air and he is a very honest and humble person. He even came off the stage during the end of his show to give EVERYONE in the audience a HUG!! I mean, are you kidding me? What kind of performer of his status do you know who does that? It was so sweet. My wife and I where both in tears after the last song which was super dope featuring a beautiful violinist!! GO SEE THIS SHOW!! YOU WILL NOT FORGET IT!! WE LOVE YOU SAGE!!

    Mixed feelings

by Battery22 on 6/8/10The Music Box - Hollywood

Although I'm a big Sage fan this concert was a little awkward. Never heard of the FMA but they were interesting (but I wouldn't be able to listen to 'em beyond the concert). B-Dolan was pretty cool. He reminded me of how old Sage's stage presence where it was just him on stage. I thought there would be some interaction with him and Sage but that didn't happen. As far as Sage's performance I felt like that hip-hop crowd didn't really know how to react to the instrumentally-backed lyrics. I know his Life cd was all about that but it didn't go to well with his older songs (although I did like Crack Pipes). I would have liked to hear Specialist performed in its original form as well as a few other songs. One thing that surprised me was that he didn't do Civil Disobedience; a song that would have been PERFECT with a back-up band. I love Sage but the overall concert was decent albeit entertaining.

    Sage Francis was awesome!

by Tarien on 6/8/10The Music Box - Hollywood

This was a great experience and one of the best concerts I've been to in years! The energy was great as Free Moral Agents opened up and B. Dolan's set felt more like a headliner than an opening act. Once Sage came on stage it got even better. While he focused on new songs from his album "LI(F)E , he made sure to play favorites like "Crack Pipes" and "Sea Lion". All performers were so generous and Sage even went so far as to finish the show and enter the crowd. Signing autographs and taking pictures with all his fans. B.Dolan was on hand to sign my album and take photos as well. The rapport that Sage has with the crowd is unprecedented. Sage Francis delivers not just as a great performer but one of the most driven and positive influences in modern hip hop. Highly recommended!

    Sage Francis Killed it!

by nataliecuriel3 on 6/7/10The Music Box - Hollywood

Best show ever! Everyone said the opening acts weren't going to be good, but I enjoyed every minute!!! When Sage came out everyone went nuts, best part was he took my digital camera and took it on stage and was taking pictures with MY camera. Then after the show was over he went out to the crowd and hugged, signed, and took pictures with everyone! Best songs he played; Broken Wings, Crack Pipes and Sea Lion. Recommend this show to everyone!!!

overall the show was amazing. Sage was on the stage for longer than an hour and mixed up his new and older stuff. B. Dolan was great too. He had a very entertaining act including a death defying stunt. I can't remember the name of the first group that played but they had some good songs as well although the vocals were a bit hard to understand. But other than that there are no complaints. We were in the front row right on the stage. At the end of the show sage got off the stage and walked through the crowd and I got to shake his hand and thank him for the show and my girlfriend hugged him for a solid ten seconds before a security guy yellled that it was long enough. A great night I'll never forget.

    Sage in Seattle

by skinnyrobot on 6/2/10Showbox at the Market - Seattle

Went to the Sage show at the Showbox Market last night, and it was well worth it. I had not seen him before so finally got the chance. The live band backing him up was cool. The show was cut short.. terrible news that Sage's (step)dad passed away just 2 days previous to the Seattle show, and he was broken up about it as he discussed it with the crowd prior to his last song. He apologized for not giving us more, but had to catch a flight home that night after the show..bummer. Then he finished with 'The Best of Times' ...Hope all is well Sage.

    Still Stick...

by OncewasMJ on 5/26/10Gothic Theatre - Englewood

Sage gives it his all every time, for every crowd in every city. The new album is killer and he played all our faves from the new CD and some of the best ones from Personal Journals & various other albums. Free Moral Agents did fine as a backup but I thought they sucked as an opening act. Good drummer but that's about it. At the end of the show Sage came into the crowd and gave us all big hugs and he's sicker than ever.

    LI(F)E on the road tour

by BBunsen on 5/25/10Gothic Theatre - Englewood

so Free Moral Agents opend up the show i had never heard of them but then again i am a hip hop kind of guy. they had a decent set though i liked a couple songs but nothing too special. Following Free Moral Agents was B. Dolan and he put on quite a show doing songs from his latest album Fallen House Sunkin City.as well as a few others. the most memerable part of his set was when he took off his clothes revealing a evil kanival jump suit in wich he took two valenteers from the crowd layd them down and jumped over them. it was actually pretty clever and funny. well now was the moment for the headline Sage Francis. Free moral agents came back out to be his live band.he had a lengthy set with mostly songs of his latest album LI(F)E. but he also had some oler good stuff such as sea lions and crack pipes. in between somngs he would heal a non criple so he could walk again and also exchanged names of pets with the crowd . it was verry intertaining. he endid it with the verry personal song best of times wich was really cool to hear live. it was a pretty good show

Sage = Amazing. Opening acts... not so much

    by rellingson2010 on 5/23/10First Avenue - Minneapolis

Sage Francis blew me away. Absolutely amazing. The opening acts were absolutely terrible. I almost left, I was so disgusted with the first band. B. Dolan was not as bad, but still annoying, ignorant, and just overall a bad performer. Part of the problem I think was the volume. I have been to many concerts and I have never had my ears hurt at all. This show was SO loud, I had a headache within 10 minutes. Sage was awesome though, and completely made up for the shaky start.

Sage knows how to bring it

    by paf0 on 5/13/10Middle East - Cambridge

Both Sage Francis and B. Dolan are amazing performers. Sage brought some of my old favorites and played some tracks off his new album. Great show.
