We love going to the games (my father, my 2 boys, my 2 nephews and assorted teenager friends of my two sons). The facility is great, the staff in all parts are friendly, helpful and unobtrusive yet present and take action when needed. I love the no smoking rules and the announcers and all of the video information during the game is great. The RiverCats always act and play professionally and the visiting teams are great too. We love $1 hot dog and ice cream night. We always feel safe in the parking lots and there always seems to be enough employees to cover everything, from the concessions to the parking lots to the stairways up and down the stands. Love the dancing usher and the dancing kettlecorn guy!!!
What we don't love is that there are too many outside activities going on such as RiverCats Idol. The hot dog or t-shirt cannon, the frisbee toss, the person catching the ball for tshirts or cash, and things like the red, white and blue dot race are okay and fun, but the idol and pie in the face are awful and there are just too many things. Also, a mute button for the rude drunk people would be nice, but you can't have everything :)
So much emphasis is placed on these activities that it seems the game is just there to support the activities, not the activities supporting the action of the game, and we are there to SEE THE GAME. A few of these extras sparsely placed throughout the game would be fine, and fun. We do enjoy many of them, just too many distractions from what we should all be there for, to cheer on our Cats and watch some well-played, exciting baseball.
Sacramento is lucky to have the team right here and tickets are reasonably priced, parking is easy to get into and out of and things are well run. GO RIVERCATS!!!
