SO FUNNY!

Russell Peters on Tour
The rare North American stand-up comedian who can sell out arenas from L.A. to London to Sydney, Russell Peters returns to the stage with his latest roving revue, dubbed The Deported tour.
The current show features Peters' first set of all-new material since taking a break from stand-up after filming his 2016 Netflix special, Almost Famous (though he was hardly idle during that stretch — on top of starring in a handful of films, Peters also launched his own prime-time series, The Indian Detective, which came to Netflix in 2018).
Despite ascending to rock-star status in the comedy world — complete with dramatic, dry ice–assisted entrances — Peters' routine is still rooted in relatable, everyday anecdotes, as he regularly reenacts amusing family conversations that give his jokes a broad, cross-cultural appeal.
Russell Peters Background
Raised in the suburbs of Toronto by Anglo-Indian parents, Russell Peters is a true 21st-century comedian, with a massive international following that reflects the connectivity of our world in the online age. And he actually owes his big break to the Internet.
After paying his dues on the Canadian stand-up circuit for 15 years, Peters became one of the first comedians to go viral — in 2004, clips of his Comedy Now special began circulating on the then-nascent YouTube platform, with his astute observations on racial stereotypes earning him fans across the cultural spectrum.
Since then, Peters has sidestepped the traditional Hollywood star-making machinery to cultivate audiences in places most North American comedians never venture — countries like Lebanon, Singapore, and Indonesia.
Despite never starring in a massive film or TV series like Jerry Seinfeld or Chris Rock (who once quipped that Peters is "the most famous person nobody's heard of"), he orbits the same stratosphere when it comes to selling tickets. In 2013, Forbes magazine ranked him the third-richest comedian in the world with annual earnings of more than $20 million. However, in recent years, Peters has made significant inroads to becoming a household name in America, thanks to his well-received 2016 Netflix special, Almost Famous.
The jokes were great and it was new. Even with the old jokes repeated, they're just as funny as if I had seen it the first time. A definite must see!
From the get go Russel was very entertaining. Crowd was there to laugh and have a good time and he sure delivered. Loved his jokes and clapped hard. Talking about politics- against bush was not too funny, but the rest of night was all laughter!! Loved his ending line, "SOMEBODY IS GOING TO GET HURT!!!!"
Russell Peter has done it again. Still one of the funniest comedian that focus minority jokes.
I would definitely go to another of Russell Peters shows. He was really good and only had one person on before him who was just as good and performed for 10 min. and then Russell came on and played a good set for nearly 2 hours. He's a must-see.
Overall I liked the show. But I know russell can do better. I have watched all of his shows and I realize he reuse his jokes a lot. Its funny but the same joke can't be told 5 times. I would love to see russell come out with some new jokes. Owen smith is one heck of a funny guy. I would like to see owen smith perform. I also think that it could be a little bit longer.
From the first joke to the last, Russell Peters was hilarious. Best comic I have ever seen. On spot with every joke, definitely going to see him again!
New material. Great time. A few parts were stretched... but its a long show and Russell did good as always.
He's always amazing when he gets on stage! I had a blast!!
I'd already seen Russel Peters during his 2006 round in NYC. Brought my sister to this event as a birthday present. We both felt the first half of the show was stellar--I was pleased to see Peters was making a lot more edgy, overt political commentary in his discussion about Arabs. By the second half of the show, however, the material seemed to fizzle into strange directions relating to stereotypes on men and women, very generic commentary that I felt didn't really reflect some of his best material. All in all, the show was good and maybe this was just a bad night. If you haven't seen Peters, GO SEE HIM! Definitely a worthwhile experience.
Russell Peters is alway hilarious...last night was a great show!
Ok, know your audience Pete..Desis pay money to come hear u make jokes about our culture. Yeah u were funny, but the Arab "b" jokes, we got it. U didnt have to go on and on. Overall, it wasnt as funny..I laughed continuously through his opening act..not so much with the act...Overall, i would just go get his shows on DVD now.
We were in tears. It was such a fun evening. Love, love, loved it!
i got there early and had the privilege of hearing both DJ Spinbad and DJ Startingfromscratch, both were on point. The music flowed seamlessly fusing styles together, even to the point where I was surprised but also very excited. Owen Smith opened for Russell and he was also very funny. Russell put on a great show where he even recycled some of his older stuff that has made him so famous. Russell is definitely one of the funnies guys out there. I would never have paid so much money for another comedian but Russell and the whole show is worth it!
Was a little dissapointed with Russell Peters. The first part of the show seemed to drag on and then he kicked into gear in the later part. Overall I was a little dissapointed.
Awesome show, very funny. Will definately see again. Wish it was longer, but great performance.
Great show at a small venue! My stomach still hurts from laughing!
I was in stiches and so was the rest of my family.I would go back and see him in a heart beat.A few days later I am still laughoing at the jokes.
Our family attended the Saturday evening show at the ACC for two reasons: First we ALL enjoy Russell Peters' sense of humour and have been fans for years and secondly it was a special event that evening for our family - that being our son's 16th birthday!! We wanted to give him a special surprise gift to make it a memorable occasion for him and we scored big time! He is quite often very subdued in showing any emotions but Russell had him in hysterical laughter. Was the best family evening we have had out in a while. Thanks for an amazing evening. Cheers :)
Russell Peters' Anniversary Tour is terrific. Would much prefer to see him in a smaller venue especially at these prices and the way he worked the audience. Still a great show!
We had seen him on TV and thought he was quite funny. We had expected to be laughing out loud more than we did. Besides a couple of times that we laughed out loud, most of the material brought out a grin or no response at all. For the price we paid for tickets I don't think I would recommend the show to friends. I would wait for the dvd.
