About

RUSH took rock music into uncharted territory and to unmatched heights fueled by the once-in-a-lifetime interplay of Geddy Lee (bass, keys, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals), and the late Neil Peart (drums, lyrics). Selling over 45 million albums worldwide, garnering seven Grammy Award nominations, tallying billions of streams, and earning induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, the pioneering trio’s incalculable influence has spanned generations, attracting one of the most ardent audiences in history. These musicians effectively reimagined and redefined rock without boundaries, striking a balance between elite instrumentation, anthemic vocals, provocative lyricism, and timeless storytelling both sonically and thematically. RUSH notably achieved “the third most consecutive gold/platinum studio albums by a rock band behind only the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.” Furthermore, their accolades have included becoming Officers of the Order of Canada in 1996, achieving the Canadian Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in 2012, and receiving recognition with both a star on the Canada Walk of Fame and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The world tragically said goodbye to Peart on January 7, 2020 following his battle with brain cancer. Honoring Peart and the legacy the band had forged together, Lee and Lifeson celebrate RUSH on tour in 2026. It’s a moment for new listeners to finally experience this music live in all of its glory and another chance for the group’s faithful fanbase to rally again.

  • Not many hits

by Laytonman on 7/16/15Maverik Center - West Valley CityRating: 2 out of 5

They looked good and sounded good, but their set list seemed to be mostly obscure selections and they only played a couple of their familiar hits. I was disappointed.

  • Rush!

by DisappointedAICFan on 7/7/15Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Stellar show. They put everything they had into it. Perhaps the best Rush concert I've attended.

  • So So

    by SatchBt3 on 7/6/15Prudential Center - NewarkRating: 3 out of 5

Losing it was awesome. The rest of the show was average. Alex was sloppy, the roadies constantly on stage was distracting. Too many new and weak songs in the beginning they never got the crowd back

  • Second Set of R40 was epic

by Beezermjk on 7/6/15Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The second set of Rush's R40 concert at The Garden was amazing.

  • Great night

by Commish625 on 7/5/15Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

This was only my second RUSH show and it was amazing. The first set was a good mix of "new" songs and a few old ones with the second set consisting of most of their classics. It was amazing just to watch them each play their instruments with such technical mastery to go along with an ever changing set. It was all I could have hoped for. the only complaint I have is that the section I was in stayed seated through the whole show, including Tom Sawyer. I did stand and got into an argument with a person behind me whose argument was that nobody else in the section was standing. Other than that I had no complaints.

  • Rush Puts On A Really Great Show Every Time!

by Silversurfer212 on 7/3/15Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

This is my 11th Rush concert that I've attended and I must say that each concert gets better every time I see them. Although the band is in their 60's, their age doesn't show and they always give a great performance with 100% effort. Geddy Lee is simply amazing with his bass playing as he switched to different instruments after each song! Alex Lifeson's playing is memorizing and still amazing to hear. Of course, nothing tops the Master of the Drum Kit than Neil Peart! He gave a terrific drum solo and his setup is still incredible as he uses every piece of instrument! He didn't use his signature rotating drum kit stage this time , but it didn't matter as his timing and workmanship was great and perfect. The band started off with songs from their more recent albums and went back in order by ending with songs from their first album. After the intermission, Geddy and Alex had a huge stack of amplifiers on stage only to be broken down to just one for each at the end of the concert simulating their earlier days playing in their high school gym back then. Overall, the sound quality of MSG was great and so were the lighting, lasers and background videos used. I really hope that this is not their last major tour of this scale as they stated earlier but they will still continue to play live even in smaller venues. I will still continue to see them as long as they play live.

  • R40

by DOCEMPIRE on 7/3/15Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

RUSH IS ONE BAND THAT NEVER DISAPPOINTS AND 29JUN15 AT MSG WAS NO EXCEPTION. THE SHOW WAS AMAZING FROM START TO FINISH. RUSH PLAYED SOME TUNES THAT I HAVE NOT HEARD THEM PLAY IN 30 YEARS.

  • Awesome!

by DanieleFromItaly on 7/3/15Prudential Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

I've traveled from Italy to attend double Rush gigs: this one and two date later at the MSG. Like every time that I've had the opportunity to see them live, the concert was really great! Awesome setlist, good sounds (but better at the MSG), great fun from the trio! And changes in the two setlist! Looking forward to see them in Europe (maybe in Italy :-)). Daniele

  • Rush was awesome as usual

    by Rick4080 on 7/3/15Prudential Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

Rush sounded fantastic! Geddy sounded great and the show itself was just great! Thanks for all the years of great music guys!

  • A masterpiece

by JefffromCinti on 7/3/15Nationwide Arena - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

One of the most entertaining Rush concerts I've witnessed...and I've been to over a dozen in my life, spanning 30+ years. The song selection was excellent, covering the trio's entire career. Nearly every album was represented. The reverse order and stage changes were brilliant. Geddy's voice was very strong., probably due to Columbus being the start of a tour leg, Musicianship was first rate as always. The crowd was really into it, with the specter of this being the last major tour for the group.

  • Rush R40 Live

by CR401 on 7/3/15Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

From the first time seeing Rush in 1977 to last Monday night, they will be forever one of the best rock bands in history and my all time favourite. I do hope this isn't their last tour, but if it is, Geddy, Alex and Neil put on one AMAZING show and continue to be the best live act. I saw their 2112 tour and Farewell to King (plus others) but even back then, they were show stoppers. I love these guys. Worth every penny!

  • by Rich762 on 7/3/15Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 2 out of 5

As much as I like going to the Garden, this time was different. We were in section 225 and (maybe it's me) but the sound was different than previous concerts I've been to. It (to me) sounded muffled; clarity was lacking

  • Just no words

by Smish1 on 7/3/15Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Rush put on an amazing show for their R40 show at Msg. They truly captured the years by playing songs like Losing it, Jacobs Ladder, Xanadu, Cygnus x-1, working man, subdivisions Etc. Geddys voice was top notch, Neil Just pummeled the drums and Alex just flawless on guitar. Three hours went too fast!

  • Rush Rocks !!!

by RushRules2112workingman on 7/3/15Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Better with age !!! I have seen Rush around 15 times and I must say this was one of their best shows !! starting with the last album working backwards. great to hear some songs they have not played for years !!! Geddy sounds better then ever!!! Alex is so underrated as one the great guitarist of our time.. Neil is the best drummer ever !!! Hope they are not done , would love to see th again .

  • Incredible performance, spot on.

by Djmikie on 7/3/15Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Rush, multiple times, and like a good wine, they get better with age. Geddy's voice, Alex's guitar playing, and Neil, there are no words. This show has got to be one of my top 5 shows I've seen in my life. Raw talent. The staging was great too, I love the way the show ended. I will not ruin it by telling you. A must see for the true Rush fan.

  • Perfect evening with Rush!

by dolebopper on 7/2/15TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Another awesome concert experience from my all time favorite band, Rush! Everything was perfect. The sound, the video, the lights, oh and the band played with fire and passion like they always do. I have seen Rush roughly 40 times and I have never been bored or disappointed. They push the bar higher and higher. This is music! These are real musicians, with something to stay and man do they bring it! Each and every night!

  • Great show! Better balance needed....

by jgarc on 7/2/15Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I really enjoyed the show! It was awesome! My only negative was that Geddy's vocals were too loud in the mix followed by Alex. I doubt it was seating, since it was in the garden but, Neil's drums were drowned out throughout.

  • R40 tour is great!

by SSQCE on 7/2/15Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

The boys rock out like they are in their twenties. A high energy show with a great set list for the avid Rush fan. Maybe the last chance to catch them in a venue near you.

  • Rush R40 unbelievable !!!!

by MirekK on 7/2/15Prudential Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

Let me start out by saying that I have followed this band since the 5th grade (1982) and this is only the 3rd time I have seen them live. Rush does not disappoint ,the quality of the music ,their showmanship and the fact that they can still fill an arena after 40 years can tell you something just by itself . I decided to take my 16 yr old daughter and she could not believe the sound that came out of the trio. The chemistry between the 3 is evident as they delivered 110 percent with a flawless powerhouse performance, incredible considering theses guys are in their early 60's and they could still perform as if they were in their 20's . The sound was of great quality with a laser light and video to enhance the show. There was an intermission half way through the show that gave everyone a chance to stretch and take a break and then back to the music. The group performed about 2 songs from their latest album to their debut album only skipping the stuff from Hold Your Fire, Power Windows and Presto they also performed 2112 in its entirety . It has been said that this may be the groups last major tour, so if you get a chance to see them do not let it pass you by , I certainly won't if they come around again.

  • words cannot express it all

    by iwh888 on 7/2/15Prudential Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

I'm already a long time Rush fan, but even I was shocked at just how good this concert was, on so many fronts. Firstly, the concept, playing back through their extensive catalogue was a really good idea. Next, the choice of songs was remarkable, covering the classics but somehow throwing in surprises (Losing It in my case). They also vary the set during the tour. Then there's how they play. Not only are all of these guys serious virtuoso's but how they hit the songs so accurately whilst still conveying such feel is remarkable. I simply can't think of any musicians that have greater mastery of their instruments, these guys just get better and better and they enjoy it. Then there was the whole package around this feast of awesome music, The set layout changed song by song starting with their latest up to date technofest, reverting back through the marshall stack era all the way to ending up with just a single amp each propped up on a chair by the time they got back to their first album. combined with all of the videos behind and in between songs, as I said at the start, words cannot express it all
