About

RUSH took rock music into uncharted territory and to unmatched heights fueled by the once-in-a-lifetime interplay of Geddy Lee (bass, keys, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals), and the late Neil Peart (drums, lyrics). Selling over 45 million albums worldwide, garnering seven Grammy Award nominations, tallying billions of streams, and earning induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, the pioneering trio’s incalculable influence has spanned generations, attracting one of the most ardent audiences in history. These musicians effectively reimagined and redefined rock without boundaries, striking a balance between elite instrumentation, anthemic vocals, provocative lyricism, and timeless storytelling both sonically and thematically. RUSH notably achieved “the third most consecutive gold/platinum studio albums by a rock band behind only the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.” Furthermore, their accolades have included becoming Officers of the Order of Canada in 1996, achieving the Canadian Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in 2012, and receiving recognition with both a star on the Canada Walk of Fame and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The world tragically said goodbye to Peart on January 7, 2020 following his battle with brain cancer. Honoring Peart and the legacy the band had forged together, Lee and Lifeson celebrate RUSH on tour in 2026. It’s a moment for new listeners to finally experience this music live in all of its glory and another chance for the group’s faithful fanbase to rally again.

  • One of the Worst Concerts!!

by Anonymous on 5/26/15Smoothie King Center - New OrleansRating: 1 out of 5

Horrible, I think the problem was with the mixing. Couldn't understand the vocals! Bass was way too loud and over powering. We left after 5 songs!! I saw them in the early 80's and remembered them being one the better groups to hear as far as their sound. Very disappointing!!! Hope it got better after we left! We saw Fleetwood Mac at this arena and it was awesome. It wasn't the arena!

  • RUSH R40 in New Orleans!

by alterna63 on 5/26/15Smoothie King Center - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

I was just playing around on the computer last Friday morning and brought up the concert for that night held in New Orleans. I had just seen this show on Wednesday night, and when I saw a great seat pop up on Alex's side, 16 rows up in line with what is the second row, I purchased the ticket. I took off 1/2 day at work, came home and got my favorite RUSH jersey, and off I went to New Orleans on a solo trip. I got there after the end of the third song, no biggy. They played Camera Eye which they did not play when in Houston. This was a big treat for me. I was not enamored with the first part of this show (tour) but the second half of the show is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! Makes it all worth the over 700 mile round trip. I would do it again! Hope they still tour after R40!

  • Rush is the best, PERIOD!

by Duggyfresh on 5/25/15Smoothie King Arena - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

No other band in history can ever do what Rush does. EVER! End of review. Go see them if you can, whether you've seen them before, never seen them, or seen them multiple times. You won't regret it, cause you'll never forget it, and every concert you see after will make you think, "Damn, that was good but not AS good as RUSH."

  • Great show!

by Green6six on 5/25/15Smoothie King Center - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

There is a reason these guys are one of the elite rock bands in the world. The reason is that they are 3 super talented musicians who have created timeless rock music that has spanned generations. They were rockin out before I was born and they have stayed true to themselves and continue to make awesome relevant music. Bottom line.....Rush is awesome and put on a clinic every time they play. This show was different than the previous times ive seen them. Hard to explain but it was a show for the people that really love Rush. They jammed out a lot more and just let it all hang out. Honestly, I knew Alex Lifeson was an awesome guitarist but holy cow if he'd had ripped any more his guitar would have bursted into flames. The guy went off! They showed off a little or maybe a lot and I loved it. Do yourself a favor and see Rush before you leave this Earth.

Phenomenal concert, great performance. Rush sounded amazing. Great light show. Very entertaining!

  • Need some horns

by GregVH on 5/25/15Smoothie King Center - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

Maybe if they get another couple of guys for the band they might be able to make it someday.

  • Better than any other live band!

by MisterDigger on 5/25/15Smoothie King Center - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 11th time seeing them in 35 years. As usual, they never put on a bad show. The humor continues to get even stranger. The light show and video is always the best, although I did miss the videos for Main Monkey Business and the jack-in-a-box for Roll The Bones. Alex and Geddy just seem to be getting better with age, but I could feel a very subtle sense that Neal is now slightly past his peak. He is still the greatest rock drummer ever, but just not up to marathon solos any more.

  • As always, Rush was phenomenal.

by graychef on 5/25/15Smoothie King Center - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

Rush. I've seen them three times now and what a show. Concert started a little after 7:30 and lasted until around 10:45. Three hours of awesome. First set was for the die-hards. Second set went through the fan favorites. Technically brilliant. Superb sound. Top notch performance.

  • Rush brought complete joy !!!

by MomLisa2014 on 5/25/15Smoothie King Center - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

I purchased two tickets for Rush for my husband for an anniversary gift , I decided not to go and our grown Son went with him instead! My Son told me the concert was awesome, but watching his Dad get so pumped up and happy was something he would never forget !!! Thanks Rush for rocking out and giving my very hardworking husband a wonderful chance to unwind and feel young again !!!!!

Rush was great, Neil Peart still has what it takes. The whole band was awesome. The sound engineer running the vocals could have done a better job.

  • Rush

by Rhot on 5/25/15Smoothie King Center - New OrleansRating: 2 out of 5

Very disappointed. Rush sounded great, but too mush unknown music.

  • RUSH in New Orleans

by JayAre on 5/24/15Smoothie King Center - New OrleansRating: 2 out of 5

How a band of this caliber can perform a show with the horrible sound they put out is unexplainable. The bass was so loud and distorted you could not hear anything else. Vocals were muddy, any talking during video clips, etc was just unintelligible. What a way to ruin what will more than likely be my last RUSH concert ever.

  • Rush blew the roof off the building in New Orleans

by ShaggyWaggy on 5/23/15New Orleans Arena - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

OK, I went into this show thinking that #1 Geddy's voice was going to be old and gone. Saw him on some awards show doing Tom Sawyer a few months back and he sounded so bad.... Well, last night I drove 2 hours to New Orleans in a beat-up old car playing Rush 8-tracks, thinking, sadly that as much as I respect these guys, that they were going to be old and slow. NOT. Rush utterly BLEW the roof off the building. Geddy's range went waaay up there and stayed there, hitting notes consistently I haven't heard him hit since the '80s. Alex shredded on guitar like a young guitar god. Neal, who I think has slumped a bit in his energy in live shows in the last 15 years or so, was his old machine self a human thunderstorm - incomprehensibly good. I've seen them six times going back to the Power Windows tour in '86 and this was the best of all as far as passion and execution. They played like they were 30 years old. They kicked our butts. Not one ounce of surrender in that show - not one hat tip to age - They played forever until I was just thinking - "how many peoples' legs are going to collapse from standing up the entire show before Geddy and Alex's fingers and Neal's arms fall off." Oh yeah - I and everyone in sight STOOD FOR THE ENTIRE SHOW - it was that colossal. Last night was the best hard-rock show I ever saw. Take that to the bank. Anyone complaining about too many newer songs in the first half of the set - well the point is that they threw in so many in a row at the beginning that it was truly a statement: That those wanting a fossilized hits show were forced to either give the new stuff a good listen or walk out. The new stuff stood the test and broke new ground. A lot of stuff on "Clockwork Angels" is the best new material since "Permanent Waves." And it made the older stuff that much sweeter. "Camera Eye" and "Jacob's Ladder" were an out-of-body experience I'll remember 'til the day I die. Played hard and true. That's not even mentioning the insane laser show and the video shorts. Playing so much VERY old stuff at the end turned it into a true metal show - showing how it's done. Again, best hard rock show I ever saw, and I've seen a lot.... See this tour if you want a good last (?) look at an epic band, and if you've never seen them, prepare to be schooled on what a ROCK CONCERT truly is.... If they do retire, as rumor has it, then they went out on top.

  • Rush transcends time

My 18th Rush show. They always play to an audience that shows up year after year!

  • Best show I have seen

    by ru4outoo on 5/22/15BOK Center - TulsaRating: 5 out of 5

I have been to allot of concerts and Rush R40 is by far the best I have been too. This makes the fifth time to See Rush And I am gratefully to see them possibly for the last time.

  • RUSH Still Rocks!

    by jpwhite139 on 5/22/15Austin360 Amphitheater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Maybe I'm completely biased as a big Rush fan---But this was an outstanding show at a great venue! What I really thought was great was the set list. Instead of just a "greatest hits" set list, they did a retrospect from their last album all the way back to their beginning. They focused on more "deep tracks" and included some essential Rush standards. The stage was also deconstructed slowly as they progressed backwards-until ultimately a very minimal set up. This venue never disappoints. This was my fourth show here and as always, they have it down. Even buying a t-shirt was painless as it was very orderly. If you get a chance---see this show!

  • Kinks not out yet

by FrogTide on 5/22/15American Airlines Center - DallasRating: 3 out of 5

I have seen Rush in concert over 20 times, so I have a real appreciation for the band AND I can tell when they are "on", "off" or some where in between. For the Dallas show, they were somewhere in between. Sitting on the 8th row you get a real view of facial expressions and gestures of the band members. There were numerous "oops" moments exchanged. Beginning with Geddy's " Hello Houston!" Media reviewers noted this as a moment of "humor". Uhm...no. He forgot where he was. Then there were miscues on almost every song that only one with a keen musical/Rush ear could detect. Most of them by Alex. No question they were there. These were not major moments, but rather Kinks are not out moments. This was only the 6th show of the tour and after an admitted near total hiatus relative to practices over the last 2.5 years and Alex noting in interviews that at first they sounded like a garage band. Another 5 or so shows they should be back to Perfect. GREAT set list!

  • Amazing!!!!!!!!!!

3 words, Best. Show. Ever I have never been to one of their shows before! I am so glad I went!

  • Rush not the best!

Rush was so loud you could not make out what was being sang. I would not pay to aee them again!

  • R40

    by sroberts44 on 5/21/15American Airlines Center - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Rush at 40 still sound better than about anyone out there. Geddy hasn't lost anything from his voice. All three of the guys still have they're chops. Since this isn't a tour supporting a album they played music from their whole catalog. They seem to be changing the setlist up somewhat every show. They played almost 3.5 hours. During the intermission the stage and light rig was completely changed. This is a show for the ages. If this is their last tour their going out at high point.
