About

RUSH took rock music into uncharted territory and to unmatched heights fueled by the once-in-a-lifetime interplay of Geddy Lee (bass, keys, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals), and the late Neil Peart (drums, lyrics). Selling over 45 million albums worldwide, garnering seven Grammy Award nominations, tallying billions of streams, and earning induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, the pioneering trio’s incalculable influence has spanned generations, attracting one of the most ardent audiences in history. These musicians effectively reimagined and redefined rock without boundaries, striking a balance between elite instrumentation, anthemic vocals, provocative lyricism, and timeless storytelling both sonically and thematically. RUSH notably achieved “the third most consecutive gold/platinum studio albums by a rock band behind only the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.” Furthermore, their accolades have included becoming Officers of the Order of Canada in 1996, achieving the Canadian Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in 2012, and receiving recognition with both a star on the Canada Walk of Fame and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The world tragically said goodbye to Peart on January 7, 2020 following his battle with brain cancer. Honoring Peart and the legacy the band had forged together, Lee and Lifeson celebrate RUSH on tour in 2026. It’s a moment for new listeners to finally experience this music live in all of its glory and another chance for the group’s faithful fanbase to rally again.

  • Rush solid as a rock!!

by dbuller on 6/27/15TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

The first couple of songs were a strange choice to start the show. They were new songs and in my opinion not two of there better new songs. But! after that this show was amazing at their age to play at the level they did for three hours was a thing to behold. Alex and Geddy were better than I have ever seen them, Im not kidding I have seen over 20 Rush show's and this is the second best one I have seen. If there is any doubt about going to this show don't give it a second thought you will not regret it.

  • Rush: R40 TD Garden Boston MA June 23, 2015

by Nasri on 6/27/15TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Rush was beautiful. They played flawlessly for 3 hours. They can still bring it. Three men making all that music at that age at that level for 3 hours. Geddy Lee plays bass, keyboards, floor pedals, sings, and captivates the audience, all in the same song. What a talent! Neil Peart is the best drummer on the planet at age 62. The concert was a lot of fun.40 years of music. Three consummate professionals. No warm up band.

  • Rush continues to impress!!

    by Dmanfan1 on 6/27/15TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

The show was awesome! I certainly hope it isn't the last tour! Not only did the play very well- they sounded fantastic! I haven't missed a show since 1982 and R40 was a sonic and visual masterpiece of the bands body of work. ... I wish I could live it all again!

  • The last Rush concert!

by Sijo on 6/26/15TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I'm sure everyone would agree that its hard work keeping a relationship together for over four decades. This is particularly true in relationships born of artistic creativity such as a band. And yet, the members of Rush have managed not only to keep it together, but grow in amazing ways as well. With only one early personnel switch due to original drummer John Rutsy's medical issues, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, along with Neal Pert have managed to create and sustain what is arguably the best 'musician's band' in rock and roll history. Rhythm virtuoso Peart attacks the drumkit with the precision of a brain surgeon and ferocity of a Spartan soldier, while changing timing signatures with fluid ease. Oh, and all those deep, thoughtful lyrics (check out songs like Scars, Red Sector A and The Countdown)...yeah, the drummer writes all of them! Geddly Lee has managed to maintain his rafter-high shrilling voice after all these years and wails out through the night in an effortless glide as he plays bass and keyboards at the same time (which, by the way, was my inspiration for learning to play drums and keyboards simultaneously). On guitars and background vocals, we have one of the most under rated ax men in rock. Alex Lifeson's lead work is precise, distinct and tasteful, no matter how fast (or slow) he's working the fret board. As good as these three gentlemen from Toronto are individually, this is a case of the total being more than the sum of all its parts. Every tour, Rush pulls out weapons of mass percussion from their musical armory and wields them as though they had never stopped playing them at all. Whether the blasting out a classic like 'Tom Sawyer' or 'Subdivisions', a deeper cut like 'The Camera Eye' or simply jamming away on an amazing instrumental, the audience is always enraptured by the amazing musicianship of this power trio and it is this fans deepest sadness, that this may well be their last tour.

  • Thanks for the memories

by Anonymous on 6/26/15Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Once the concert star i had a great time. The atmosphere was festive and everyone was have a good time talking to there concert neighbors. I thought the music selection was fabulous and fun. It went in reverse order to the from newest to oldest as well as the constant stage dressing as a reminder of the passing of time. The song Loosing it was a beautiful touch. The instrumentals gave me the energy as if the concert was just starting. The ticket vender (VIP Nation) as miserable collection of incompetence. They left many of their claimed benefits unanswered and their representatives were prevaricators.

  • Incredible

by dldnh on 6/26/15TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

After all these years they've still got it. So much fun to hear them play new and old songs alike. They were just incredible!

  • Best Rush show in years.

    by sbrocker11 on 6/26/15TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing show. Played a great set of older classic songs. Band is still tight. Did not miss a beat.

  • Good

by Rapmon on 6/26/15TD Garden - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

The musicianship was stellar. Geddy's voice was great. The first 3 songs I could have done without. They should have played Freewill and Limelight. The sound at the Garden isn't very good either. But they are 3 of the best musicians ever.

  • Every Rush concert is amazing. This was incredible

by Footfan on 6/26/15TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

This is a concert for the real rush fans. Don't expect listening to all classics played at every concert like limelight and you will have a lot of good surprises when you hear they play songs they have not played for years. I won't spoil your experience with the set list but if you are a hardcore rush fan you won't be disappointed. This was my 9th concert and one of the best I've seen

  • Rush Rocked the Garden

by Rushahead on 6/26/15TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 16th Rush concert and may very well have been their best performance I've seen. Geddy's can hit the high notes as good as ever, Neil was unbelievable on the skins and Alex had his best performance I've ever seen him do with more complex playing than ever. All I can say is wow!

  • Rush rocks my socks

by McDaviez on 6/26/15TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Rush is still crushing it after 40 years! The show was an amazing blast from the past and it was a great concept. Out of the 7 Rush concerts I've attended, R40 was hands down my favorite!

  • Rush does it again!

    by bted11 on 6/26/15TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely amazing show! The Canadian power trio never disappoints with their gifted, versatile talent they have dedicated themselves to for 40 years. Their large-scale touring days may be over after they wrap up in Los Angeles on August 1, but I could see them staying musically active for some time. As long as they stay healthy enough, we'll see them come out with more awesome music followed by shorter tours. Heres to Geddy, Alex and Neil, cementing their legacy as the greatest rock band in the history of the world known as Rush!

  • The R40 Tour is EPIC

by XanaSu on 6/26/15TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I bought my tickets to this show back in February, and I couldn't wait for June 23rd to come. I felt like a kid waiting for summer vacation to start! Rush's R40 show was such a gift to their fans. Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart gave us a retrospective show that started with the song "The Anarchist" off of their 2012 release, Clockwork Angels, and ended with "Working Man", their first single off of their self-titled first album from 1976. These men put their hearts into the music they performed for us. I can't imagine the amount of work and practice it took to prepare for this tour, but it has certainly paid off. Geddy's mature vocal chords are still strong and hitting the notes on point, and I love watching him sing while playing bass, keys, and foot pedals. Alex was phenomenal. His personality on stage is always fun to watch, and he is still shredding like he did back in the day. The Professor, aka Neil Peart, is precision personified. He always looks so calm and composed while playing incredibly fast across the entire kit. His arms and legs engaged the entire show. I don't know how he does it. In addition to the great music, they had fun video snippets featuring folks like the Trailer Park Boys, Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, Tom Morello, and more. I wish that I could live it all again!

  • AMAZING!

by Foomazing on 6/26/15TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Rush put on a spectacular show that spanned more than a forty year career. This was my fifth time seeing them and every time I leave feeling I got my money's worth. They pulled out obscure songs from their catalog that they have not played in decades. And, they change the set list from show to show, so if you have the chance to travel and see them again, it will be at least half a different set list. Yes, they will play some of their hits like Tom Sawyer and Roll the Bones, but this set list is for the true Rush fan. Expect songs like Xanadu, and Jacob's Ladder thrown in with Anthem. It is true that your favorite song may not be played, but with a catalog that spans more than forty years, they could play for ten hours and still leave out your favorite. I found myself sitting in awe of how amazing each member is musically and trying to listen to each note as it was played with precision, but the songs are simply too complex to be able to keep up. If this is their last tour, then BRAVO! What a way to end an amazing career. Thank you Rush for providing years worth of entertainment and sharing your gifts with the world.

  • Old men playing old rock 'n' roll

  • Awesome show as always with Rush

by DaveTwoOh on 6/26/15TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Once again a fantastic show by Rush, each tour seems to get better and better, which is incredible considering these guys are in their 60s and they play a pretty intense style of music. All the basslines, Guitar solos and drum fills were accounted for in every song. No cheating, no glossing over, or phoning it in. These guys RULE, bottom line.

  • A+ Rush show boston
