RuPaul's Drag Race on Tour
Even beamed into people's living rooms through their TVs, RuPaul's Drag Race is one of the biggest and most fabulous shows on Earth — it was only a matter of time before its cavalcade of queens ended up in Las Vegas. Specifically, they took up residence at the Flamingo, in a room that for more than a decade hosted the Donny & Marie variety show. A far more colorful and extremely ambitious production, RuPaul's Drag Race LIVE! involves big dance numbers, wild wardrobe changes, all-star catwalk crawls, vicious lip-sync battles and, well, a "bitch-slap" competition that calls for audience involvement. The mission is to make fans feel like they're in the middle of an interactive episode taping — a rotating cast of beloved queens previously seen on the show partakes in a series of challenges, performances and face-offs. The crowd determines a winner via the Clap-O-Meter, an outsize applause measurement device made to look like big lips and a giant tongue. The choreography comes from longtime Ru pal Jamal Sims (Step Up, the Oscars, live-action Aladdin) and is set to tunes previously heard on the series (think Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Britney Spears) as well as new original music from RuPaul, producer Leland and Tom Campbell. Meanwhile, the vibrant and often delightfully absurd sets transport viewers to a veritable wonderland of neon sass.
RuPaul's Drag Race in Concert
RuPaul's Drag Race debuted on Logo TV in 2009 and became an instant hit. It didn't hurt that the show's host, mentor and head judge was already the most famous and beloved drag queen the world had ever known, but the series quickly demonstrated its power to captivate audiences of all backgrounds and launch incredibly colorful new stars. By the time it kicked off its 12th season in 2020, the reality competition series had been nominated for 23 Emmys and won nine, not to mention increased awareness and (rabid) appreciation of drag culture, as well as gifted unto the world such truly inspired queens as Trixie Mattel, Bianca Del Rio and Alaska Thunderf*ck 5000. In 2017, RuPaul's Drag Race leapt to VH1 and also off of the screen via the Werq the World tour. That larger-than-life spectacle proved to be a hit, running for years and also paving the way for RuPaul's Drag Race LIVE! in Las Vegas, starring show alumni Yvie Oddly, Aquaria, Asia O'Hara, Derrick Barry, the Pit Crew and many more.
Lot of great performers and fun storyline. Not PG for kids
Discouraged that two of the entertainers on ticket were not there and instead of a second number by a couple of the entertainers or bringing someone new into the cast, the host tried feeling space with complete unfunny nonsense. I am a fan of Evie but he is not a very good host. Very monotonous and a bit crude and not really funny. All the queens were great, however Jorgeous, Jada and Danala, (sp?), made the show. To be honest, would have had more fun paying a $5 cover at a local bar and watching house queens. Sad, because everyone in the cast were some of my ultimate favorites on drag race. Side note to Evie, probably shouldn’t continue to disrespect the person and the production that allows you the vehicle to travel the world and make money. If you are that bothered by the reality show that you chose to be on, then maybe go back to Colorado and continue performing in a local bar.
Great show and costumes, started on time and wonderful entertainment!
Outfits were wonderful. The dancing was great and the ones that sang were fabulous! Great show.
Every minute of the show was hilarious! Well worth the time and money spent to see these queens in action up close. Highly recommend any RuPaul Drag Race fan to experience this show!
This event was so much fun! The whole process from purchasing tickets to finding our seats was a breeze. I have never been to a drag show before, but like most of America, I love Ru Paul's Drag Race on TV. My daughter-in-law and I had a free evening during our Vegas trip, and we decided to check out the show. We loved the venue, and the performance was off the charts! If you have time to see the show, you definitely should.
The show was a lot of fun for everyone. Plenty of crowd interaction, great entertainers and sone excellent costumes and wardrobes. Was a shame RuPaul was not in attendance.
Even though the show was almost two hours long it felt very rushed and unorganized. Yvie kept doing an extremely fake voice and the consistent stale jokes about sex and children got old very quickly along with making you uncomfortable. Just overall an odd choice of topic given the already huge issue surrounding drag queens and grooming. Each drag Queen did a mash up of 2-3 parts of songs in one outfit with an obvious reveal. Would have been much better for them to do one full song, leave, come back for round 2 later and do another full song. Show would stay on track time wise but you’d get to see more of the queens instead of just one show and at the end for them to just bow and say thank you.
The show was great! There were phenomenal performances! The show provided humor and fun entertainment. I loved it!
Very professional and polished, much better than I expected.
Exceeded all expectations. Dancing and wardrobe was top shelf!
I was very disappointed, the show was called RU Paul’s Drag Race and I thought Ru Paul was going to either host the show or perform and he did not. Even a member of the audience yelled out to the host where is Ru Paul so I couldn’t be the only one thinking the same thing. It should have been stated somewhere in the description that he won’t be attending. The show was good just was extremely excited to see him but no Ru Paul.
I absolutely LOVED it. It was so much fun, such a great time. Had some laughs by the host, the queens did amazing, all around awesome show. Hope they come back all the time!
I absolutely loved the show. It was much better than I anticipated and it was fun, vibrant and very professionally done. My only complaint is that I left wanting more like at least a half hour more. But over just a fantastic variety show done in drag.
It was awesome. Thank you for coming to WV!!! Please come again.
The show was amazing!! The Queens put their heart and soul into their performances and Yvie was hilarious!!! My only gripe was the venue, they did not have the big tvs that cast a closer view for the people in the back. But nothing wrong with the show or the performance or the Queens <3
Great venue, the show was amazing! Ru never disappoints. Mixed drinks need to be bigger for the price. I saw Ru in Louisville a month ago, different show, also amazing, but the drinks were huge!
The show was amazing! the cast kept everyone entertained! the venue was easy to attend and not overly crowded
Had an absolute blast! However, 2 of the queens that I was most excited about seeing were not there. I didn’t know if certain queens were going to be at select venues or not, but I was sad to not see them there after thinking for months that they would be because they were listed. Overall though, still an awesome experience! I wanted to go again the next day.
If you are looking for a fun, spooky and entertaining drag show, look no further. With host Yvie Oddly you will be taken on a creative recounting of favorite Twilight Zone episodes with fierce queens lip syncing and dancing with gorgeous back up dancers. The costumes are amazing, filled with gore and surprising reveals.
