About

ROYKSOPP IN CONCERT:

Norwegian electronica legends Royksopp have been experimenting with synths and drum machines since first stepping onto the scene in the late-'90s. Their live shows are a feast for the eyes and ears as the band plays signature hits like "Eple" and "Happy Up Here" dressed in elaborate stagewear, often making several wardrobe changes during their sets. Whether they're building beats or toying with unique sounds on stage, Royksopp deliver an electrifying performance every time with an amazing light show and frequent guest appearances. Swedish electropop sensation Robyn will join the band for their Royksopp and Robyn Do It Again Tour 2014, treating fans to a special collaboration on a string of worldwide tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Original Royksopp members Svein Berge and Torbjorn Brundtland met at a young age and became friends after realizing their mutual love for electronica music. Although they parted ways soon after, the duo reunited eight years later to form Royksopp, breaking into the mainstream with their 2001 debut Melody A.M, a No. 1 hit in their native Norway. Since then, the band has released three more chart-topping studio albums, won seven Spellemannprisen awards (AKA Norwegian Grammys), and remixed artists like Coldplay and Peter Gabriel. The collaborations continue for the band as they set out on the Royksopp and Robyn Do It Again Tour 2014 alongside the fellow Scandinavian singer.

    Intriguing

It was a great show with awesome lights and sounds. I love all their music in studio version better. I went in with high expectations which explains my slight disappointment, though that's my fault. I also don't go to concerts much. I had a good time, and would recommend it to anyone that likes this type of music.

    Royksopp threw down

by Dariusmc on 11/20/09The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

I had a great time listening and dancing to Royksopp last night. The Regency Ballroom isn't the best venue, it's kind of a big empty box, but the band had great energy, pounding bass lines and the lighting was better than most at that venue. Lot of great have-to-dance beats and lots of people dancing in the crowd too.

    Royksopp killed it!!

The show was amazing. I had never been to the Regency, the venue was awesome. The only way it could have been any better is if any of the Swedish girls, i.e. Lykke Li, Robyn, etc... came too.

They definitely worked the crowd. The vocalist (while not Robyn or Karin--as most were hoping would appear) sounded close enough to the studio versions that you could feel the floor boards bounce as everyone was nodding/jumping along. They played all the hits--and were clearly into the set (+ 2 encores). The only negatives: the sound quality was just OK, and the ventilation in the room is pretty harsh.
