About

ROYKSOPP IN CONCERT:

Norwegian electronica legends Royksopp have been experimenting with synths and drum machines since first stepping onto the scene in the late-'90s. Their live shows are a feast for the eyes and ears as the band plays signature hits like "Eple" and "Happy Up Here" dressed in elaborate stagewear, often making several wardrobe changes during their sets. Whether they're building beats or toying with unique sounds on stage, Royksopp deliver an electrifying performance every time with an amazing light show and frequent guest appearances. Swedish electropop sensation Robyn will join the band for their Royksopp and Robyn Do It Again Tour 2014, treating fans to a special collaboration on a string of worldwide tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Original Royksopp members Svein Berge and Torbjorn Brundtland met at a young age and became friends after realizing their mutual love for electronica music. Although they parted ways soon after, the duo reunited eight years later to form Royksopp, breaking into the mainstream with their 2001 debut Melody A.M, a No. 1 hit in their native Norway. Since then, the band has released three more chart-topping studio albums, won seven Spellemannprisen awards (AKA Norwegian Grammys), and remixed artists like Coldplay and Peter Gabriel. The collaborations continue for the band as they set out on the Royksopp and Robyn Do It Again Tour 2014 alongside the fellow Scandinavian singer.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"The music was so amazing live and they were very energetic and played for an extra 15 minutes which was much appreciated. I would definitely go see them again!"

"That was one of the best concerts ever... the place was cool, the music was great and the people were fantastic. Very well done show! Royksopp are true artists, their music is just amazing. Top -of-the-line performance. Thanks guys!!!"

"Loved it! Great music and great venue -- perfect for the type of music."

    Röyksopp show was inspiring

by insanerobotdog on 3/30/11The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

I've been a long time fan of Röyksopp and was overcome with joy to hear they would be coming to my home city of San Francisco. I have to say that the show as is their music was inspiring and was truly a rare moment of life. I hope to see them back here soon otherwise I may just have to follow :) The opening act, Jon Hopkins, I was unfamiliar with before the show but was equally impressed with. I'm an grateful for the opportunity to have been introduced to such a promising new sound coming out of Europe and look forward to hearing more as he develops.

Dead tired afterwards = best show EVAR!!!

    by meowtime4two on 3/28/11The Masquerade - Atlanta

I was a bit skeptical going into a show at the Masquerade, seeing as I had been there for other shows and they were bad. But I was awesomely surprised when the staff was nice and helpful, there was no smoking in the area (they played upstairs in Heaven) and the sound was great. The total vibe with everyone there was also great. Since, at least in my opinion, Royksopp isn't very well known in the states, the camaraderie between fans there was awesome. Everyone, that I saw, was in a good mood and had a great time. I was so excited to see that one of the female singers came!!! I was in heaven!!! I was amazed at how awesome they were in concert!! Definitely worth every penny of the ticket price! And it was so inexpensive too $25!! Totally entranced!!! You'll be in an excellent and happy mood!! Bottom line: If you're on the fence about going to this concert, get off and get a ticket! You won't regret it!

    Röyksopp

    by DAS24 on 3/28/11Masquerade - Atlanta

The show was an absolute hit! The music brought back memories from "days of yore". Ah, the goodtimes... all-night parties and loungy afternoons. Röyksopp's sound has stood the test of time. To me, their sound is still as relevant and cutting edge as any newcomer out there! The crowd was a mix of 20's and 30 something's which makes me know they will be around, dropping new and innovative tunes for years to come. Two thumbs up on the show!

    Royksopp was the bomb!

by cpeezy on 3/27/11Masquerade - Atlanta

This concert was SO GOOD! The opener, John Hopkins, came out super strong and was absolutely amazing. The venue was perfect for the music because it was big enough for people to move but small enough so you could be close to the stage and really feel the music. Royksopp was incredible. They started off so strong and just kept getting better and better. Their costumes were killer and the crowd was so into it. Overall, amazing concert. I would go again and again, and I have already recommended it to my friends.

I have been tracking Royksopp since their debut album Melody A.M. and it was great to finally see them live. They rarely make it state side, and visiting Atlanta was a total surprise. They were great and performed with tons of energy. A great deal of the set list was new material and the old favorites they played were given a new spin. To me the highlight that evening was the opener Jon Hopkins. I never heard him before he began his set. The Masquerade is not my favorite venue, but it worked. The place was packed just to the comfort limit.

    Royksopp fathered my Groove-Baby!

by Sastard on 3/26/11Masquerade - Atlanta

Seriously fun show. The band cares about their audience, keeping up with quick remarks while maintaining the pace of the show. They knock out the songs, and what glorious music it is! These guys go from a hopping-around-rocking performance, to slow, side-to-side jammin'. A must see. I will return to their shows when they come near. Geez, listening to them live, I've considered following to Dubai!

    Royksopp and Jon Hopkins

by Hazelbrand on 3/26/11Masquerade - Atlanta

I anticipated both artist to put on a great live show but I left in awe. The whole event was true perfection. Jon Hopkins, the opener, destroyed it and definitely had the crowd nice and buttered up. Royksopp is one of the best LIVE electronic groups I have ever had the privilege to experience and I see tons of artist every year. Not to mention Trentemoller was here a few days before and although I love Trentemoller I must say the Royksopp set was on another level . It wasn't just the tunes. Household Management (MJ) promotions definitely showed out. Masquerade in ATL is always a dope spot for a show. The sound was perfect! I'm actually still trying to find out the engineer responsible for the set up that night.

by Jeanie223 on 3/24/11Webster Hall - New York

This was most definitely a 5 star show! Royksopp was out of this world with their Norwegian electronic music staring Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland. I can't wait for them to come back because I'll be there!

by thegirl01 on 3/23/11Webster Hall - New York

Royksopp I am glad to say is one of the few bands I would see over and over again. They aren't just musicians, they're performers. Their whole aesthetic coupled with their amazing songs made for a great night.

Traveled 727 Miles to see you!

by MichelliStehli on 3/23/11Webster Hall - New York

Royksopp was great!! Traveled from Milwaukee to NYC to see them! I would give them 5 stars because they are my favorite band but on here give them 4 only because the 'show' aspect of the event was a bit lacking. I understand there is only so much you can do with this type of music but I would have liked to see a bit something more. Other than that, the music was amazing and I was really pumped to see the woman in the band come with. They were all so nice and you could tell they loved what they were doing. Would love to see them come to the midwest though :( Played 2 extra songs for the audience also :)

    Royksopp was very entertaining

by jkceltic on 3/23/11Webster Hall - New York

They came on about 30min late but they seemed to make up for it at the end by coming back on stage for two encores. The sound was good, Royksopp knows what it has to do to feed into the audience and there stage prescense was effective especially there great costumes.
