Not a Bad Song in the Show!

by doctj on 10/6/10BJCC Arena - Birmingham

I would pay to download every performance in the whole show! There wasn't a boring or dull tune from start to finish: no, not one! All the lead-on bands were great, and Hank was truly at his best. The best show I've seen in 56 years, and I have seen a few of them, I promise!

    Rowdy Friends needs audio help

    by Hippie2 on 10/4/10BJCC Arena - Birmingham

Awesome to have 4 different groups/entertainers to perform!! But the audio distribution needed lots of updating! We were in the upper part of the lower level and got mostly just 2/too loud music drowning out any vocals. Very few times we could make out any words to the songs. We left early after 2 songs from Hank due to the audio drown out.

Jamey Johnson and band put on a show!!

    by Tang20 on 10/4/10BJCC Arena - Birmingham

Would recommend if you really like country. First time seeing Josh Thompson and Jamey Johnson ( really loved the guitars). Hadn't seen Hank in 20 years - is really outspoken on his political views! Glad to see he backs what he sings!

    Hank Jr. was very Entertaining

by DrDB on 10/4/10BJCC Arena - Birmingham

I had the privilege of attending the Hank Williams, Jr. Rowdy Friends 2010 Tour at the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center on October 1, 2010. He was quite entertaining and played a lot of his songs from the "That's How They Do It In Dixie - The Essential Collection" CD as well as a few Waylon Jennings tunes. I was amazed at how talented Hank Jr. is on a multitude of instruments. Of course we all knew he was a talented singer and guitar player. However, he played the piano in a Jerry Lee Lewis tribute and also the fiddle equally well. He had the audience eating out of his hand. Hank is a somewhat conceded and has strong opinions on being a southerner, his political views, and his background--but that is part of what makes us love him, and his music! I've played nothing but Hank Jr. music for three days following the concert.

If you want to go to a concert or your first concert.... this is the concert to go to. He really knows how to put on a show. Includes the audience and the other guys, Josh Thompson and Ford absolutely wonderful.

Good combo. Wish Jamie J. had played more. Wish Hank would have played more of his hit songs.

2 much hank jr not enough Jamey Johnson

    by brd7777 on 10/3/10BJCC Arena - Birmingham

I really thought they would come out 2gether and play b/c i went 2 jamey johnson last year by himself and he was much better by himself!! HE IS A HEAD LINER!! I just cant believe Hank doesnt understand this!! I mean if you havent seen Hank b4 then it would have been great!!(I have seen hank 6 or 7 times) B/c Hank always puts on a great show BUT i went 2 see JJ not hank jr. SO HEADS UP OUT THERE IF YOU A JAMEY JOHNSON FAN WASNT WORTH IT B/C HE DIDNT PLAY BUT ABOUT 45 MINS BUT IF HANK JR FAN ENJOY IT B/C YOUR GONNA SEE ALOT MORE OF HIM THAN ANYTHING ELSE!!

    Great concert

by vmdesign on 10/3/10BJCC Arena - Birmingham

The show was incredible. Josh Thompson is going to be a great musician. Colt Ford was entertaining--I don't care for his music, but he puts on a pretty good show. Jamie Johnson was unbelievable. And how can you go wrong with Hank Williams, Jr? The show lasted almost 4 1/2 hours (with breaks between artists, obviously) and was well worth the cost.

    Didn't understand a word

by nathb on 10/3/10BJCC Arena - Birmingham

I had a great night with my friends and the atmosphere was great. However, music was so loud that the lyrics of the songs could not be understood!! Don't drown out the words....that's what we want to hear!!!
