I had the privilege of attending the Hank Williams, Jr. Rowdy Friends 2010 Tour at the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center on October 1, 2010. He was quite entertaining and played a lot of his songs from the "That's How They Do It In Dixie - The Essential Collection" CD as well as a few Waylon Jennings tunes.
I was amazed at how talented Hank Jr. is on a multitude of instruments. Of course we all knew he was a talented singer and guitar player. However, he played the piano in a Jerry Lee Lewis tribute and also the fiddle equally well. He had the audience eating out of his hand.
Hank is a somewhat conceded and has strong opinions on being a southerner, his political views, and his background--but that is part of what makes us love him, and his music!
I've played nothing but Hank Jr. music for three days following the concert.
