Great game! Loved the variety of refreshment choices. Loved refreshments being outside. Hated the river flowing thru the outer part of the stadium after the game.
This was a bucket list event for me so I can't say it wasn't worth the money or the trip but I can say that it really didn't live up to my expectations. The Rose Bowl stadium, with all its history and tradition, is only a decent place to visit for that reason. The fan experience at the Rose Bowl is pretty terrible. The stadium boasts a capacity for 90K+ but really should only seat about 65K in a modern stadium. Long concession lines, horrific restroom facilities, and it's nearly impossible to climb your way out to the isle once you've made it to your seat. I used to watch UCLA games and wonder why they have such poor attendance. Now I know. You have to REALLY want to go to a game at the Rose Bowl to deal with the nightmare of logistics in and out of the area. The stadium is over 100yrs old and its probably time to just level the thing. Parking at over $100 is insane for a college football game. I've been to college football games all over the country and this is by far the worst fan experience I've had.
Was very surprised at the sad state of this stadium. The hike up 10" rise concrete stairs with no handrail was difficult for many, many people, especially older and those with disabilities. Could be fixed using a portion of the ticket revenue. This is a serious issue! Many people near me didn't feel they could leave and use the bathroom because they were worried about getting back to those stairs! A good number of bathrooms were old and falling apart, no sinks or hands sanitizer, many workers using these. Unacceptable, especially during Covid times. There needs to be a walkway around the top to get around and to evacuate. This stadium was a run-down high school stadium. Really shocked it houses the Rose Bowl
The Rose Bowl was fantastic. Anyone we met, workers or spectators, were kind and friendly. Concession prices are outrageous but unfortunately that could be expected. The stadium is in great condition as it should be for a historic site. What a game! What a memorable experience.
Getting to the game long lines for shuttle. The game was fantastic but fans stand and we couldn’t see. To old to stand that long
Being a Penn State fan I thought it was the best game ever. I do think they need to do something about the concession stands. They were a little chaotic.
Seating was tight, and uncomfortable. Finding your seats appeared to be difficult with lack of seat markings, everyone appeared to be lost and accusing others of being in there seats, when in fact they were not in the correct section. Food and merchandise were outrageous in cost, one slice of pizza for $16, come on now, many vendors ran out of food before the 4th quarter! The experience of the game was great, but that will be the last time I go to one. The event parking staff, were inexperienced and failed to give correct information to our questions for the general parking.
Loved the venue and all it had to offer. Unfortunate that hats and shirts being sold were not to my liking. Was disappointed that the venue advertised “cashless” as there many vendors outside the gates with wanted souvenirs & snacks that were cash only.
The Rose Bowl was really a lot of fun. The stadium and atmosphere was amazing and the other fans I sat by was a great a group of people
Great experience! Had a great time at the game. Glad I went.
The day was beautiful, the sun was shinning and the entire area was a constant party. My son and I are from Ohio and are Buckeye fans. We realized that we were way out numbered as there had to be a 80/20 mix of mostly Utah fans. Regardless, everyone that we met was over the top excited for the day and the game. We sat on the west side of the stadium which was supposed to be the OSU side but as I mentioned there were so many Utah fans there, the side meant nothing. We had a father/ son sitting next to us from Chicago that were OSU fans but all in front and behind were Utah fans. As I mentioned the fans were all a lot of fun and there for the exciting game. When OSU pulled it out at the end, we could not yell loud enough. The fans that stayed to watch the trophy presentation and then the singing/playing of the alma mater was the perfect ending to the great day.
The tickets and parking were easy to manage. Doing all the things suggested before getting there was great bee got in without any issues. The Rose Bowl is classic but old and not very comfortable. Stairs were steep and no handrails. Sound system poor. Hard to understand commentators. Staff very good. Getting out was very reasonable considering the large number of people.
I was disappointed with the seeming inability to handle the crowds efficiently. My expectation was that this even—which is 100 years old would do a better job. There were too few COVID-19 vaccination and testing confirmation lines with crowded back-ups. Adding to that was too few security accesses in to close proximity to the COVID lines. It created a mass of people standing, waiting and slowly moving in an area set up to move people onto the game quickly. Some of us were late to the game. Others of us were held up by a rope walkway for coaches to enter the game. We were not allowed to proceed to our seats—some of which were an entrance or two away. Oh—and I stood there for maybe fifteen minutes and not a single coach passed through. My question is who were those coaches, anyway, for both teams were already on the field with only a few minutes before kick off. People were pleading to be allowed through to get to their seats but were told they couldn’t. Some went under the ropes anyway without permission, desperate to get to their seats. I must admit I have never been to a stadium of this caliber that did not have parking—simply cars shown the way to park on the grass of a lovely park and quasi golf course. I understand this is an old stadium built before such crowds were anticipated. I understand that it is a difficult spot to arrange for the number of cars driving to attend the event. I paid $50 to Park and no one even scanned my ticket. And finally, I am 70 years old and did not anticipate walking such a distance from Lot 9 to the stadium. Some system to transport older folks or all folks f from especially the far away lots would be helpful. These things did not ruin my experience, but as an Ohio State fan it would have been a much less fun experience had the Buckeyes lost.
Well we payed way too much. Seats were bench seats and were so squished it was really bad. Game was fun.
Of the 3 Rose Bowl Games in the last 7 years. I’ve attended, the 2022 Rose Bowl was the best game by far, Utah and Ohio State delivered the main an event you must see live to appreciate the pageantry and majestic Grand Daddy of them all. Get their early for the Fanfest and walk around the stadium to see and read about prior games to player history. Head to gate A at the stadium at least an hour before kickoff to avoid the long lines for security. That will give you chance to walk the stadium to look around, use the restroom and grab last minute snacks. It’s better to get a good lunch before going to the stadium than spend a lot of money on overpriced.poor quality food in long lines. Try to get seats from rows 20 to 50, anywhere in the Stadium for best viewing. As for the shuttle ride back to town; try to get your seats on the south half of the stadium (east or west). This will give you a chance to get to the B gate ahead of most fans . Also; never trust a line to the shuttle until you are within a metal fence area. I have seen hundreds of people forming a line not realizing it leads nowhere. Take a little extra time to walk down and around the bottle neck of people who are trying to squeeze their way in only to be told by security they have to walk 100 yards further to find the end of the line. Security and the Rose Bowl organization need to figure it out to avoid a great event turning contentious with drunk and angry fans. I’ll be back again when our Utah Utes deliver another Pac-12 Championship! Go Utes!.
I have been to the 3 Rose games in the 7 years. The 2022 Utah and Ohio State has been the best by far. You can’t beat the pageantry and atmosphere of this game and most seats here give a great view of field. Rows 20 to 50 are the best anywhere in the stadium. The food is poor quality and way over priced, so make sure you get a great lunch before you go. The shuttle bus back to town is a joke every time; total pandemonium and kayos. Security needs to do a better job directing and provide fencing so everyone knows where the line starts and ends. My advice is to get your seats on the south half of the field and as soon as
Easy to purchase, easy to use electronic ticket, easy to be admitted to the game.
We were seated in ADA seating, with a permanent chair and a folding chair. The folding chair was surprisingly comfortable. Restrooms were close by, but very small with maybe 8 stalls, so lines were really long. Since ADA seating is on the concourse level, hordes of people walked close to our seats, sometimes stopping to watch the game over our shoulders for extended time periods. Very few people were following the masking guidelines. I did not observe any attempt to enforce those guidelines. So my biggest recommendation would be, if you are buying tickets to this stadium with the idea that COVID guidelines will make you feel safe, don't buy tickets. The game was incredible though and the experience was fun.
Could mot pull up ticketmaster app on phone horrorible time for many game goers
