The best sounding show I've heard in a very long time.

  • Loved it!

Roger was amazing at Twin River on August 18. He started the set with "Take the Long Way Home" and ended with "Give a Little Bit" - just a really nice concert. Roger was very personable (after the first song he asked for the lights to come on so he could see and talk to us) and he really seemed into the music. My wife didn't know what to expect as she's never been a huge Supertramp fan, but at the end she wanted to buy his "Live" CD and a t-shirt! Thanks for the great concert!

  • Hodgson still has it!

Roger Hodgson is a down-to-earth guy. He talked and joked with the audience throughout his set. His voice sounds exactly the same and his backing band is phenomenal (sax player is very multi-talented). We had a great time!

  • Roger Hodgson gave everyone their money's worth

by EngieZap on 8/16/12Snoqualmie Casino-Mountain View Plaza - SnoqualmieRating: 4 out of 5

Roger Hodgson put on a great show, performing over two hours and playing a good mix of classic Supertramp songs and his own solo material. Hodgson was jovial & friendly with the audience, seemed to be enjoying himself and commented on how beautiful it is up in our corner of the country (The Pacific Northwest). He has definitely aged (as have we all) but his voice is still in fine form hitting all the high notes without any problem even with all of the songs he performed (and there were A LOT!). The crowd loved the big Supertramp hits like 'Take the Long Way Home', 'Logical Song' and 'Give a Little Bit', but the high points for me were 'Hide in Your Shell', 'If Everyone was Listening' and a great rendition of 'Fool's Overture', something I never thought I'd hear in concert. I took off one star for all the Snoqualmie Casino staff who spent the whole time trying to stop people from taking photos & videos of the concert. Look, nowadays, everyone has a camera on their phone and most can take videos as well. Just give it up already with the whole policing the crowd to try and stop people from taking photos & videos. First, It really distracts from the concert and second, you're never going to be able to stop everyone from doing it. I was just in San Francisco a couple months ago for the Marillion concert at the world famous Fillmore and they had no problem with me taking photos the whole concert with my digital camera.

  • Mr Hodgson the Master

by Zlancer on 8/15/12Snoqualmie Casino-Mountain View Plaza - SnoqualmieRating: 5 out of 5

I knew the show would be good, but the clarity and overall quality of the music and show was top notch. Flawless. Took my 23 y/o daughter who now says she's completed one her musical 'bucket list' items. Roger is a master at his trade - thanks for coming to the great Pacific Northwest.

I was lucky enough to see my favorite performer, Roger Hodgson, twice this year. The first was in Temecula, California, in February, and then in my home town, Portland, Oregon, last week. The show was awesome. His voice was perfect, and he has such a well-known sound. Mr. Hodgson played all of his dazzling songs that we have come to know and love all these years. My favorite song was Fool’s Overture, which is a collage of different passages, mostly instrumental in the first half. It reminds me of a movie soundtrack. I think it is the best of Mr. Hodgson’s true masterpieces. And, it’s my favorite because it’s long, and you can get lost in the sounds and the feelings of the song. The show lasted about two hours. Roger Hodgson’s concert was wonderful, and it was a very magical evening.

  • A must see if you love Supertramp

    by trekman2001 on 8/13/12Oregon Zoo - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5

Fantastic show. I was expecting Roger to play mostly solo stuff but I was pleasantry surprised that he played almost almost all Supertramp with a couple of songs from his first album. He has a great band playing with him and I think this will be the closest we'll ever get to a real Supertramp show.

  • Roger Hodgson: Supertramped Us!!!

by Waynzie on 8/13/12Snoqualmie Casino-Mountain View Plaza - SnoqualmieRating: 5 out of 5

Having been a Supertramp fan form the 70's one must not miss seeing Roger Hodgson. When I saw that he was coming to the N.W. I had to get tickets. After seeing him I was so very glad that we did. It was like seeing Supertramp in the 70's. I was blown away at the talent he had with him on the tour. The energy and fun that they had playing was refreshing for all that came out for the show. The weather was outstanding and venue was awesome. It is easy to see that Roger loves playing his songs and it he has many great ones to share. Get out and see him!

Roger played many of the old tunes from Crisis What Crisis, Crime of the Century, Quietest Monments and Breakfast. His cocky humor and relation with the audience rounded out the show as a thoroughly enjoyable event.

Roger was gracious and made us feel like he was truly happy to be in Portland. His classic songs were obviously why everyone came and he did not disappoint. You have to give him kudos for continuing to play those with a genuine desire to please his audience. What a great performer.

  • Hodgson Super but ain't no Tramp!

by reichspeed on 8/13/12Snoqualmie Casino-Mountain View Plaza - SnoqualmieRating: 5 out of 5

Wow! I have not followed Roger since Supertramp broke up, so my expectations were not all that high and was afraid he's just push his own stuff and not do much of the music that we're all so familiar with. Gratefully, I was wrong. The band played the Supertramp songs so perfectly that as hard as I tried, I could not hear one thing missing in any of the songs. Every nuance, fill and harmony was spot on. Extremely talented sax player and keyboard player. Those guys could easily play with any band around and they made a wise decision going with Roger. Fantastic.

  • Roger Hodgson, what a pleasant surprise!

by YOURBUDDYDAVE on 8/13/12Snoqualmie Casino-Mountain View Plaza - SnoqualmieRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was one of the best I have seen all year and definitely at the best venue. All the songs from the past put a huge grin on my face and the band reproduced them note for note. It was 5 thumbs up for me!
