Roger Hodgson, formerly of Supertramp, has been recognized as one of the most gifted songwriters and lyricists of our time. As the legendary composer of many of the band’s greatest hits, he gave us “Give a Little Bit,” “The Logical Song,” “Dreamer,” “Take the Long Way Home,” “Breakfast in America,” “It’s Raining Again,” “School,” “Fool’s Overture” and so many others that have become the soundtrack of our lives and helped his former band sell well over 60 million albums.
Hodgson continues to tour extensively worldwide performing not only his classics, but also material from his solo albums.

The show was amazing, sounded just like old times!
I drove 3 hours each way to see this show. I would go again tonight if I could. Quite possibly the best show I've seen and I recall saying that about Supertramp back in the early eighties. Go see this show.
The show exceeded my expectations . I was not sure what kind of band would be with him , but when they started playing it was like magic . Vocal harmonies , blending of the keyboards , unbelieveable Saxaphone , harmonica . Everything was right in place . I wish I could have thanked the Band personally for an absolutely entertaining night . My wife and I are both musicians and we just had to bow our heads to these wonderful talented masters of their craft .To be able to write and perform songs at Rogers level is truly a gift to treasure . Thank You Again !
Roger Hodgson the Legendary Voice of Supertramp was excellent, and better than I expected. He was better in person than his CD’s. His voice has not changed in 30 years. The backup band was very talented and the brass instruments backups were done exactly the way they were recorded. He was truly impressive and I am glad I drove over 75 miles to see him. Now I can remove from my bucket list. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the entire show and His performance and wonderful voice.
Roger was a great entertainer. Down to earth, likeable. Just a great night. His band was amazing. Aaron played sax, wind, percussion, harmonica... everything. He played all his hits and ended with "Give a Little Bit."
Rodger is an amazing singer song writer. Loved the show. I know everyone always wants to hear all the songs they love, wish he could of thrown in " Hide In Your Shell", but it was not to be. Music was great, plus Rodger really has a great stage presence.
Roger has long been one of my favorite singer songwriters.. His show was flawless. Harmonies and instrumentalists were close to perfect!! Every song sounded like the recording. I'm a professional sax player, and this horn player was spot on... Overall sound was impeccable. If you get an opportunity to see and hear Roger Hodgson...do not miss it..
Roger and the band were tight and were very personable with the audience. Roger's voice is unbelievable. Great mix of hits.
Great venue. Will definitely go back for more shows. Easy parking. Easy to get to. Overall great time.
If you love Supertramp like I do, it was a great half of a Supertramp show Friday night at the Twin River Event Center in Lincoln, R.I. The Roger Hodgson half. The Rick Davies half was nowhere to be found. But Roger and his own band didn't disappoint. Every one of his songs had me and everyone singing along to his music. An old friend who we hadn't seen in 30 something years and there he was belting out the soundtrack of our lives. His voice has been preserved well certainly due to the time off he took to be with his family. Now he's back to share his songs with us again as a solo artist and is really enjoying it . Sad that we didn't get to hear the other half, but there just wouldn't have been enough time anyway as the Roger half played two hours and that wasn't enough to fit it all in. But it was enough to send us all home very much satisfied that we heard a great half of a Supertramp concert.
I would give this 4.5 stars if I could. There were some songs that I didn't know and didn't do too much for me. Not sure why "Had a Dream" is not part of his setlist but I was expecting it. Otherwise, it was a great show and Roger was entertaining and actually funny at times. He still has a great voice. His backup band is pretty good.
I always liked the music, but never had the chance to see Supertramp or Roger. That said, I never quite know what I am going to get from this type of classic rock concert. You hope for the best and prepare for somewhat less. Well, I need not have worried - this was an absolute terrific evening of music. If you closed your eyes, you would swear it was a CD playing, not a live performance - and I mean that in the best possible way! Roger's voice was fantastic and the band (keyboard player, drummer, bass player and saxophonist) was really excellent - especially the saxophonist (also flute and other instruments) and keyboard player. Back up vocals were mainly supplied by the saxophonist and keyboard player with the bass player joining at times. Roger played the guitar, keyboard, and piano. All the hits performed very faithfully to the album versions and some excellent songs I did not even remember. He has not toured the US in quite some time so, if you like the music and want to hear it performed in first rate-fashion by the man that wrote and sang it originally, don't miss this concert. Very highly recommended.
As the review heading implies, I had never seen Roger Hodgson or Supertramp before. And didn't think I would see him perform on this tour, as the tickets were overpriced based on the performer's current popularity. I wasn't the only one that felt that way, as it appears 3/4 of the venue was unsold two weeks before the show. Then a "buy one get one free promotion" came out (which I took advantage of); and then the venue (a casino) offered free tickets to those with a "players card" (I don't gamble, but I do have a card for when they give concert tickets away). As fas as the show: I'm really not familiar with the 'deep tracks' (read: anything that wasn't a hit single). But they were enjoyable. Most of the people were like myself and wanted to hear the hits, and Roger didn't disapoint. Got to hear my all favorites from Breakfast in America: The Logical Song, Take the Long Way Home, Breakfast in America, and Goodby Stranger. The older hits found their way into the set list as well: Dreamer, Bloody Well Right, and Give a Little Bit.. Roger sounded great, seemed comfortable with being back on tour, and the backing band reproduced the original sound nicely. Pretty obvious from the above that I'm just a casual fan of Supertramp, and I imagine a die hard fan might totally disagree (in either direction) with my assessment of the show. It was enjoyable, a fun night, and great to catch at least one (Rick Davies being the other) of the two principals behind Supertramp. But had tickets stayed at the original asking price, I wouldn't have been there.
Great time, would recommend to anyone. Roger put on a great show.
Roger sounded as good as he did decades ago with Supertramp! He has an amazing backup band with him... incredibly talented. His.interaction with the crowd was a highlight also...telling tales of what the songs meant to him. Great mix of classics and his solo work. An unforgettable night!
Great show. Great band. Roger's voice sounds same as 1979. 2 hour show was appreciated by all. Venue note: Twin River is basically a big convention hall with a stage and about 3,200 folding chairs. $110 tickets were pretty steep for 3rd row seats on right side with a poor view/angle. Sound was great as long as you are not sitting in front rows in center section as main speakers are left and right of stage leaving a dead spot (muffled) for sound for the poor folks who spent big bucks for the "best" seats.
Overall, I found the performance disappointing, although there were some good moments. First of all, I thought Mr. Hodgson's voice sounded excellent. Other than that, I thought the show did not flow well and there were too many 'deep' moments. It hit bottom with a song (I forget the title) about whether animals would prefer to live in a cage at the zoo or be dead. It is an interesting thing to think about, but the song left me wishing I was at the zoo instead of at the concert. Maybe it is just that I am not a true Roger Hodgson fan. I enjoyed the songs I was familiar with for the most part, but in between them were songs that seemed depressing which just dampened my mood. I will say the band was top-notch. Better song selection and order would have made the show more enjoyable.
I wish Roger sang more Breakfast in America songs. There were many songs he did that were good but unfamiliar to me and the audience. He should stick with what got him here and not so much of "the new stuff".
Saw Roger Hodgson Firday night, August 17th at Twin River Casino in Rhode Island. The show was awesome! The band was amazing! I loved the venue! We had great seats and could see the band perfectly. What a great night listening to the old Supertramp songs brought us back to our high school years. We heard Roger is playing in Lynn, Ma and we will definitely be buying tickets!
Roger Hodgson was in fine form Friday night with almost two hours of classics. He brought along an extremely talented band highlighted by a young Canadian musician who could do it all from playing Sax to keyboards, to singing the Rick Davies lines. Roger kicked off the show with "Take The Long Way Home" and then quickly moved into a great rendition of "School" and wrapped up everything on the encore with "Give a Little Bit". Throughout the concert he engaged with the audience, expressed gratitude for fans traveling a long way (fans behind us had come from Quebec, Canada), and he sought to make it a great evening for everyone. The fans were clearly long time Supertramp fans with everyone singing along and having a great time. Seeing Roger Rodgson live allowed for some of the Supertramp songs that have beautiful layered textures to really shine - songs like "Lady" and "Sister Moonshine" were just great. Roger is returning to Boston in November - if you are a fan check him out!
