About

Rodney Carrington on Tour

One of America's most popular comedians and an actor and author to boot, Rodney Carrington shows just what kind of good times can happen when country meets comedy.

Since the breakthrough success of his first major-label release Hangin' with Rodney in 1998, Carrington has been a favorite of audiences all over the world thanks to his enjoyably raucous take on the best things in life, starting with whatever's in the bottle in front of him. With signature songs like "Just One Beer," "Wish She Would Have Left Quicker" and "Put Your Clothes Back On," he proves that some jokes just go better when combined with the twang and swagger of a country tune.

In addition to being one of America's Top 10 highest-grossing comedians, Carrington headlined his own ABC sitcom with Rodney and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses. In 2017, his special Here Comes The Truth brought his blue-collar brand of stand-up and musical comedy to Netflix. His 2020 tour of venues across the U.S. and Canada follows the release of his latest album, Get Em Out, which hit No. 1 on the iTunes comedy chart.

Rodney Carrington Background

Rodney Carrington has been providing proudly blue-collar audiences something to laugh about ever since his earliest days as a performer at local venues and on radio shows in his native Texas in the ‘90s.

After years of touring nationally, Carrington's breakthrough came with the 1998 release of Hangin' With Rodney, a CD that introduced listeners to the combination of comedy and country music that fast became his trademark. In 2000, he scored his first Top 20 album on Billboard's country chart with Morning Wood, an equally raucous collection that included such fan favorites as "A Dozen Roses" and "Older Women."

Along with earning platinum sales as a recording artist, Carrington's achievements include starring in the ABC sitcom Rodney (2004-2006) and co-writing and co-starring with superstar Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses (2008). In 2007, he made the jump to the publishing world with his first book, Coming Clean. His Netflix special Here Comes the Truth debuted in 2017. Get Em Out, his eighth comedy album, was released in 2019.

  • very good show

by Homer Sapien on 3/19/24Choctaw Grand Theater - DurantRating: 4 out of 5

The early show was amazing but he went over raunchy in the the later show. He would have very broad appeal on the expansion of the early stuff.

  • Rodney never disappoints!

Love Rodney Carrington, he holds nothing back and is funny as hell. Started right on time and we enjoyed the opening act. But Rodney stole the show. Laughed so hard!!

Rodney is quite possibly the funniest comedian out there. I would go see him again and again...

  • Not really what I had expected.

by HH on 3/4/24Rating: 4 out of 5

My husband is a long time Rodney fan and he loved the show but for me there were some laughs but not funny as his earlier shows. Had more serious parts and he called out an audience member early on and it kinda took me awhile to get back into the comedy part. It was a nice night out though & the seats were a lot better than had expected.

  • Very comical

  • Mellow

We love Rodney Carrington, but at this last event in Fresno, there was a little bit of an interruption from someone in the audience, where he had to stop his show. I felt like that set the momentum for the rest of the evening. He wasn’t as energetic as he usually is, he was still funny, but it just wasn’t the same show that were used to seeing with his energy and humor.

  • could have been better

by Nana on 3/1/24The Lerner Theatre - ElkhartRating: 4 out of 5

The seats that I had reserved were close to the stage so the price was higher, however the right side of the stage was hidden by a large speaker, preventing us to see some of the show. I wish I had spent less money and got seats further back more towards the middle.

  • Priceless gift

    by KYGirl922 on 2/27/24Clowes Memorial Hall - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

My husband & I purchased tickets as a gift to take my 70 yr. old dad to see Rodney. It was the perfect gift for him, as he would never take himself, he is hard to buy for, and RC is his absolute favorite! We were smiling from ear to ear during the entire show, our cheeks hurt from laughing so much! That memory with my dad will be cherished forever, and that is a priceless gift 🩷

  • Great

by Dee on 2/27/24Clowes Memorial Hall - IndianapolisRating: 4 out of 5

He was really funny. He was probably offensive to some but that is what comedy is about. If u can’t handle it you shouldn’t go to a see a comedian with NO filter.

  • Very funny but crude

by Gregory on 2/27/24Clowes Memorial Hall - IndianapolisRating: 4 out of 5

Entertaining and funny. Wish his material was a little more clean. Nice voice. Incorporating singing with jokes was novel.
