About

Rodney Carrington on Tour

One of America's most popular comedians and an actor and author to boot, Rodney Carrington shows just what kind of good times can happen when country meets comedy.

Since the breakthrough success of his first major-label release Hangin' with Rodney in 1998, Carrington has been a favorite of audiences all over the world thanks to his enjoyably raucous take on the best things in life, starting with whatever's in the bottle in front of him. With signature songs like "Just One Beer," "Wish She Would Have Left Quicker" and "Put Your Clothes Back On," he proves that some jokes just go better when combined with the twang and swagger of a country tune.

In addition to being one of America's Top 10 highest-grossing comedians, Carrington headlined his own ABC sitcom with Rodney and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses. In 2017, his special Here Comes The Truth brought his blue-collar brand of stand-up and musical comedy to Netflix. His 2020 tour of venues across the U.S. and Canada follows the release of his latest album, Get Em Out, which hit No. 1 on the iTunes comedy chart.

Rodney Carrington Background

Rodney Carrington has been providing proudly blue-collar audiences something to laugh about ever since his earliest days as a performer at local venues and on radio shows in his native Texas in the ‘90s.

After years of touring nationally, Carrington's breakthrough came with the 1998 release of Hangin' With Rodney, a CD that introduced listeners to the combination of comedy and country music that fast became his trademark. In 2000, he scored his first Top 20 album on Billboard's country chart with Morning Wood, an equally raucous collection that included such fan favorites as "A Dozen Roses" and "Older Women."

Along with earning platinum sales as a recording artist, Carrington's achievements include starring in the ABC sitcom Rodney (2004-2006) and co-writing and co-starring with superstar Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses (2008). In 2007, he made the jump to the publishing world with his first book, Coming Clean. His Netflix special Here Comes the Truth debuted in 2017. Get Em Out, his eighth comedy album, was released in 2019.

Don't go if your stomach is hurting, it will hurt a lot worse by the end of the show. Laughed so hard I thought I would die. RC's show is the don't miss of the century.

I was told by friends that went last year they really did not care for it. I thought it was fantastic. He is a very funny man. Everything he said was funny. He puts on a very nice show. If people were offended then they should have done some research before going. It could not have been better unless I got to me Rodney in person.

  • Rodney Carrington was hilarious!

by thekruser on 10/19/09Spreckels Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

I have all of his albums, and know them almost word for word. This show was all original content, unlike some comics who just reuse the same material time after time after time. He sang a few of his most popular songs, as I am sure the crowd would have been displeased if he hadn't. This was my first experience with a live comedy show and it was completely AMAZING! I definitely recommend Rodney Carrington to all of those who enjoy adult stand up comedy! Note: Definitely not for children or those who offend easily!

  • Rodney's got his game on

by Reidlowe on 10/19/09Spreckels Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

We had an amazing time on Saturday with Rodney. He is definitely a talent that we'd love to see more of. I wasn't aware he had a tv series and we'll be looking for that, and the movie Beer for my Horses is also something we'll be looking for. His talent to tell stories from a point of view that's simple and twisted is one of those talents you have to respect. If you want to see what I mean, go watch I got my game on" on Youtube, then do some searching for his videos. Rodney writes songs that are clever and typically from the other direction..."put your clothes back on" is a favorite...as well as "Show them to me"...Rodney, keep doing what you do!

  • Rodney was a blast

    by 7575 on 10/18/09Spreckels Theatre - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

I have seen Rodney on Comedy Central and looked forward to his first live show here in San Diego. He humor is down to earth and everyone can relate. Only complaint was the show ended to soon, 1 hour is not enough, I could laugh with him all night. Great story teller.

  • Theatrical genius!!!

by Schofield on 10/18/09Spreckels Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Have a bunch of his CD's but have to say that he is way better in person. Damn funny and was laughing the whole time. If he came to the San Diego area more often I would come and see him everytime. He makes it seem easy and does it flawlessly and the songs that he sings are histerical. If you enjoy volgar humor with a twist of family humor he is the guy guy to see.
