Rodney Carrington on Tour

One of America's most popular comedians and an actor and author to boot, Rodney Carrington shows just what kind of good times can happen when country meets comedy.

Since the breakthrough success of his first major-label release Hangin' with Rodney in 1998, Carrington has been a favorite of audiences all over the world thanks to his enjoyably raucous take on the best things in life, starting with whatever's in the bottle in front of him. With signature songs like "Just One Beer," "Wish She Would Have Left Quicker" and "Put Your Clothes Back On," he proves that some jokes just go better when combined with the twang and swagger of a country tune.

In addition to being one of America's Top 10 highest-grossing comedians, Carrington headlined his own ABC sitcom with Rodney and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses. In 2017, his special Here Comes The Truth brought his blue-collar brand of stand-up and musical comedy to Netflix. His 2020 tour of venues across the U.S. and Canada follows the release of his latest album, Get Em Out, which hit No. 1 on the iTunes comedy chart.

Rodney Carrington Background

Rodney Carrington has been providing proudly blue-collar audiences something to laugh about ever since his earliest days as a performer at local venues and on radio shows in his native Texas in the ‘90s.

After years of touring nationally, Carrington's breakthrough came with the 1998 release of Hangin' With Rodney, a CD that introduced listeners to the combination of comedy and country music that fast became his trademark. In 2000, he scored his first Top 20 album on Billboard's country chart with Morning Wood, an equally raucous collection that included such fan favorites as "A Dozen Roses" and "Older Women."

Along with earning platinum sales as a recording artist, Carrington's achievements include starring in the ABC sitcom Rodney (2004-2006) and co-writing and co-starring with superstar Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses (2008). In 2007, he made the jump to the publishing world with his first book, Coming Clean. His Netflix special Here Comes the Truth debuted in 2017. Get Em Out, his eighth comedy album, was released in 2019.

  • Rodney Carrington was offensive

by RoadieDawg on 1/15/10Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium - SpartanburgRating: 1 out of 5

While I knew that Rodney Carrington was vulgar I had no idea that he could be so offensive. I have no problem with his cussing or vulgar humor, but I do have a problem that over ten minutes of his routine dealt with making fun of religion and church. I was highly offended. I have heard / seen anything to do with him for the last time.

  • Rodney Carrington was lacking

The Rodney Carrington show lacked length and a good opening act. We spent $110.00 for two tickets for a show that lasted one hour and twenty five minutes. I thisnk the opening act sucked and should have been longer. Although Rodney was funny- his show was way to short and he didn'y play enough of his songs. There was no meet and greet/ autographs and we were not alllowed to take pictures. That was the worst. The best part was the videos before the show. I think the price was way to much for so little.

My friends and I loved his performance and the preview videos. We laughed the entire show - so much my face hurt. Most of the jokes were in good taste - not vulgar. I would go again anytime.

a great show and a great venue. 2 comments: The show was too short. Rodney was only on stage for about an hour and he needs a different opening act. I can't even remember his name, but i was not impresses.

  • Short Performance but Awesome!

    by carebear8504 on 1/11/10Beau Rivage Theatre - BiloxiRating: 5 out of 5

Rodney's performance Saturday night was awesome! I was laughing so hard I was crying! His show was mixed between some new material and some of his older material. No matter how many times you hear his jokes, they never get old. He is just hilarious! I did not like his opening act though. The show was also to short for my taste. I felt like the show ended just as soon as it had began. But then again, "Time flys when you're having fun!" I also wish there would have been an autograph session after the show. My husband and I would have really liked to meet him! Wonderful performance Rodney! Come see us again soon!

I have seen his show a couple of times, and it's always different and funny. Within 5 minutes of his show opening, I am crying from laughing so hard. He is the funniest comedian I have ever heard.

He started at warp speed, getting our attention, and kept it up to the end. Hilarious and a great singing voice. We loved the video clips he included. A great night of entertaining and forgetting about everything else.

This show was the best I have ever seen. Rodney gives you a pre-warmup to laughing by showing all the bloopers from his network show. His live show will make you laugh till your cry. He is such a gifted entertainer giving you both comedic and singing enjoyment. If laughter is good for your health, then your health should be good for an extra ten years after seeing this show.

Rodney's delivery made me feel like I was one of his buddies – hanging out, drinking a beer, and hearing him tell story after story about his life experiences. I can't wait to see him again!
