Great show. wonderful mashup of classical and classic rock. Great voices. Rob Evan and Chloe Lowery are highlights. Wish I could see it again.
We saw a commercial on TV for this group. We ordered tickets and were so impressed! We absolutely loved the performance and it was truly something different than we usually see. I would see it again in a minute!
Every aspect was entertaining. From the lighting to the singers to the orchestra I enjoyed it so much. Would love to see this group do more shows like this. Go see it!
Most exciting concert o have ever been to. Non stop music from extremely talented artist.
The singers were outstanding. The mix of classical music & rock was perfect. The guitarist was incredible. I would recommend this show to anyone.
You immediately know you have seen many of the faces before when they come on stage. The lady who played the violin continually was an act by herself. The ability of some to be singing rock and then switch to opera midstream was astounding. The voices of each were just amazing.
This was most amazing! The way the classical music just morphed into rock (and vice-versa) was so smooth. There was a great balance between both kinds of music and a great variety of singers and singing styles. All we so very good. We were sad that the show did not sell very well -- the advertising here in the Quad-Cities is abysmal to say the least. Hardly anyone knew of the show. I would not have except that my husband was asked to be one of the orchestral musicians (they use local musicians for much of the orchestra) and so I wanted to go. Again, had the advertising been better, I'm sure they would have filled the theater. So many people missed such a great evening.
Saw this amazing show on opening night of the tour. Wasn't sure what to expect but I was familiar with some of the cast. What a stellar performance by all. Co-Creator Rob Evan ledt the vocalists through a fanciful journey of the human spirit, all told through a unique mash-up of famous classical music and classic rock songs. First goosebump moment was when an opera picec (sung gorgeously by Ximena Borges) segued seamlessly into Tony Vincent's standout performance of Elton John's "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me", seeting the stage for fellow vocalists Kimberly Nichole and Chloe Lowery (bringing the house down with her soaring powerful vocals). Guitarist Tony Bruno added muscular riffs and melodic solos to lead the rock band sharing the stage with a live orchestra and vocal choir. The accompanying light show and video graphics added the finishing touch to a truly mesmerizing experience. Máiréad Nesbitt, a featured performer audiences may recognize from "Celtic Women" dazzled with her lyrical violin playing and spriteish stage presence. This show is simply magnificent and will delight music fans of all ages and tastes. There has never been a show like this and it is NOT to be missed!! Just awesome!
Nothing here made me stand up and jump... the orchestra was small in number and seemed emotionless... no power... and the new fiddle player was more posturing than musical dexterity... I think a smaller venue would have helped... the cavernous Palace Theater in Albany was too big for this ensemble.
Two hours of your favorite well-know classic rock hits for The Who, Styx, Aerosmith, Zeppelin, Muse, Heart, Foreigner, Pink Floyd, Queen, U2, Elton John and more mashed-up with well-known classical themes from Mozart, Beethoven, Stravinsky, Strauss, Tchaikovsky, John Williams, Copland, Handel, and more! It's a visual delight as well as audio bliss! Featuring a couple of Trans-Siberian Orchestra veteran vocalists, Broadway vocalists, Mairead Nesbitt of Celtic Woman fame, and a sensational band they perform with local orchestra and choirs to deliver a robust and chilling soundscape. Absolutely stunning! Two shows was not enough for me!
Loved the concept and the delivery was great... 'Orchestra and Choir sections could have been larger, the Rock Band members seemed to carry the show... That may have been the point. Lighting was blinding on occasion and made it difficult for this audience member to enjoy what I was listening to.
This was only the 3rd performance of the show on this tour. The overall sound before intermission was a bit weak. Singers and musicians were very good but something was lacking in the energy of the sound. After intermission an adjustment must have been made. You could now feel the base vibrate inside your body. Fiddle player was excellent and exhibited the most energy of all the performers. The lighting setup caused us to relocate our seats within the balcony because the moving lights would stop at times and be shining directly in our face so we couldn't see the performers on stage.
It was pleasurable to see a great show with gifted musicians and singers. I just love the violins and horns mixed in with the rock band. Great video effect that tells a story. Just sorry to see a lot of empty seats at the Palace. It was deserving of a sell-out.
Great show, music and songs were performed well. Hope they play at the Beacon Theater in NYC in the future. Will go to see them again.
Different, dynamic musical synthesis. There is nothing like it. Excellent vocals backed by proficient musicians. Contours of classical, opera and rock music generating an elaborate mix of sound.
absolutely first class, invigorating, inspiring, fun, amazing, creative,....SO glad we drove to Albany and spent the night. well worth the time and expense....
Rocktopia was phenomenal! Very well done!! Violinist was amazing. Vocals were fantastic. Orchestra was amazing. Band was great!
This show/concert/production is an unbelievable thrill to attend. Local choirs with local symphony and these all star musicians and vocalists with top notch video and sound. Loved every moment from beginning to end!
The most astonishing, unforgettable event I've seen. The concept is brilliant and the cast is outstanding.
Classic rock, some classic classics and energy! A beautiful group of people who performed from their hearts. Local musicians working with international stars.
