Awesome. All the band's were amazing. Security handled situations professionally
great show. slayer made all worth while, they still have it. there was only 6000 folks in attendance. my ticket was upgraded from the lawn to the pit because security didn't want to babysit my friend and I on the lawn. it was a true willie wonka golden ticket moment. I have been going to shows for 30 years and this has never happened.
I was looking forward to King Diamond and Slayer, they did not disappoint. Been too long since I've seen them, they both still got it
The only good band on the bill was King Diamond. They were amazing yet every other band was boring. This festival was horribly booked
The final two acts were worth the ticket price, King Diamond and Slayer. The first half of the day was fun just hanging out but the music wasnt memorable. The place was relatively empty which made the heat bearable and since the show was far from sold out we were able to get free upgrades and sit in the second tier, which was great since it rained that night. Would definately go again just to see King Diamond and Slayer. If bands like Anthrax and Volbeat could be considered for the future, that would be a killer show.
The event was only about 1/3 full, if you had lawn seats like I did you get upgraded to seats free. Would hate to be someone who paid more for seats to have everyone from the lawn get the same. Only had two stages this time and not much of a variety, most of the bands sounded the same. The first two main stage acts played at the same time as the last two second stage acts so you could only watch one or the other. All of the main stage bands were good, King Diamond and Slayer were awesome. Unless the band variety changes and they have much more 2nd stage bands I will not be going again.
My son and I have attended all of the Mayhem Fests. This by far was the worst of them. The attendance by the fans and the bands were way down. The show was still good and we had a good time but it didn't seem like Mayhem. I feel this was the last ride for this tour. Which is sad.
depressing how little were in attendance. I've been a faithful attender for many years - this year, the parking lot wasn't even full
Slayer killed! First time seeing King Diamond and I must say, why the hell did I wait so long to see him? Can't wait to see him again! Sister Sin and Shattered Sun are now on heavy rotation on my iPod. Overall, killer festival as usual. Our VIP rep Sean was amazing. He is a class act and really takes care of you. Hope to hang with him at the next VIP nation event.
The mayhem fest was downsized a good bit. The lineup mediocre. If it wasn't for Hellyeah!, and King Diamond I wouldn't have went. Sister Sin was awesome! There was only about 5500 tickets sold, so everyone got to sit in the pavilion, which was better than sitting in the mud!
Nobody was there. Everybody who had lawn seats were moved up to the seats. If it wasn't for King Diamond and Slayer nobody would of showed up.
Very condensed festival this year. only ever heard of like 1 band on the side stage. That said whitechapel, hellyeah, and kind diamond were great. I left before slayer came on. Ive seen them a few times, and their live show is nothing special. They were definitely lacking a true headliner to bring in more of a crowd. Slipknot/Lamb of God are out together. Rob Zombie i think is out on his own tour. Not sure who else they couldve gotten, but it needed a big name band. I really hope this is not the end for mayhem, ive gone every year. But its not looking good.
Not happ I payed all most 100.00 for a seat and then they lowered the price on the sets that I payed 100.00 for for 45.00 dolers and hade the lown shut off to I will never go a gen....
Slayer still puts on a great show and Gary Holt does the band and songs justice.
This concert sucked. Too many lousy bands and the headliners sucked, too!
Very disappointed in the line up. The crowd was so small that they forbid lawn seating, made everyone sit in sticky hot plastic seats. I only watched one band perform, and left after that.
I was stunned on the sheer smallness of the festival as a whole. Only one stage besides the main stage. Ticket sales were down so much everyone got pavilion seats without paying more money. I loved the music. Never seen King Diamond so that was a treat. His voice is so amazing. That man can sing high notes low notes and growl all in one line. Freaking awesome. As a true heavy metal fan.... No matter what the festival was fun. This was my 7th festival and I still loved it.
Mayhem is not what it used to be. The second stage lineups were very week. This is the 1st year that I did not take off or leave work early to see non main stage bands. I really only went for Slayer and King Diamond. I could tell that I was not the only person to feel this way since the venue was empty. Staff members were going around and upgrading people from the lawn to the lower sections or the GA pit. Someone came up to my group and gave some of us pit passes, but not everyone, so my buddies got to go down to the pit and I had to keep my space on the lawn. I really hope they can get some stronger bands for next year.
This is always a great show. The bass are great each year and slayer kicks ass.
I was at Susquehanna Bank Center and they only used a very small space instead of the whole parking lot like they usually do and everyone was squished together. They had no programs with all the bands and there were no name bands there which is probably why we had such a small space. The only band worth seeing was Whitechapel.
