    Mayhem

by PeterPandemonium on 8/4/15The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman - Woodlands

This was my third Mayhem Festival. It was my second at The Woodlands. I went there again because I knew there would be reserved seats and a roof for the main events. The other time I was at the COTA Racetrack in Austin. No shade in August!?!? The music has always been topnotch! If there is complaining to be done, it would be about the Texas Heat! There should be some tents to provide shade. There should be some free tap water. Some benches to rest and recover would be a great thing! Consider booking the Texas shows in a cooler month. Otherwise, access to signings by the up and coming bands was really fun! Merchandise was good. Food was acceptable. All the Staff were courteous and very helpful. The Metal Community was the Best!!

    The festival was good

by RonDamonValdez on 8/4/15The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman - Woodlands

The selection of bands for the second stage could have been better. But he selection of bands for the first stage was exceptional.

    Mayhem disaster

by Fuglymaniacs on 8/4/15The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman - Woodlands

Mayhem fest promises alot and under delivers bigtime. Starting with the band line ups. Band sets are short Scheduling an event in early August in Texas when is 112 degrees and show starts at 1pm. We skipped all bands except Hellyeah,King Diamond,Slayer (KK is a penis). Too hot, too expensive ($4.50 water) and overall weak lineup. We will definitely skip this event in the future. Turn out was weak. The Cynthia Woods Mitchell sucks! !

I had a good time at the festival. I thought the venue and the bands that played were awesome.

    Finally! Got to see Slayer!

by Superwood on 8/4/15The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman - Woodlands

Whitechapel, Hellyeah, and Slayer get top honors. Lots of no charge Rockstar drinks and a goodie bag. Venue is safe, clean, plenty of restrooms.

    slayer was awesome

Slayer was great, rest of the bands were so-so. Food selection at the venue sucks.

In the overall, poor booking lineup for the second stage. Great bands, that I personally enjoyed, but no name power for most people. Sucked that they didn't open the lawn, but with the poor ticket sales, I understand. All bands played a great show. It was super hot, but bearable with great music. Very bummed to hear this was the last year of the Mayhem Festival.

    Better luck next year...

by neanderthalDave on 8/2/15Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - Tinley Park

This years line up was disappointing from the start but I got tickets anyway since its the only traveling heavy metal fest around. There were some good bands and I did enjoy myself but they entire event was so much smaller then previous years, instead of 3/4 stages and around 20 bands there was 2 stages with about 10 bands. Lack of ticket sales was obvious by the fact that they didn't even open the lawn area (I've never seen that before) and upgraded everyone to pavilion seating witch was bittersweet because the atmosphere of the festival I'm used to just wasn't there this year.

Where did all the people go??

by Wyzo on 8/1/15Aaron's Amphitheatre at Lakewood - Atlanta

I've been coming to UpRoar and Mayhem Fest since 2012. Always a great show. However, this year was fraction of what it used to be. It was very noticeable: Fewer Bands: NoBIG headliners to draw a large crowd. Concessions: Everything in the front was closed, including the bathrooms Only 1 stage in the back: Always had at least two, sometimes three No People: about 1/3 or less of the regular crowd Merchandising: Not many vendors selling merchandise. No jumping motor cycles. Get it back together PEOPLE!!!

    Terrible lineup

    by AlDubs22 on 7/29/15XFINITY Theatre - Hartford

The only reason I attended Mayhem Fest was because there was a $20 ticket offer, had there not been I would not have attended as the lineup besides Slayer was incredibly weak. That being said I understand why tickets were $20, as there was not a large crowd and that was disappointing. If Mayhem should continue they should probably find a better lineup.

    King diamond was incredible!

by Yeasatan on 7/29/15Nikon at Jones Beach Theater - Wantagh

King Diamond was unbelievably good, terrific song selection and rhythms and solos played to perfection! I've seen him several times and have always enjoyed his performances. Slayer started slowly but eventually played old classics and whipped the crowd into a frenzy! I was so amazed to hear Hell Awaits live, i've seen Slayer over 100 times and never heard that before! Tom's vocal range is bereft of high notes but that was fine as he's still awesome. Gary Holt is a pitiful replacement for Jeff Hanneman. His solos suck, hey there's notes there, try playing them rather than just making noise!!! But a great time was had by all of us and it was still a great time!

    The end of Mayhem

    by ray362 on 7/29/15Xfinity Center - Mansfield

This year Mayhem (Mansfield) was downsized by about 1/2. There was only one second stage, and the one that was used was a "third" stage in the past. It was so small the bands could not even put up their banners. The bands that were on the bill played their asses off, and all were very thankful for the people that did show up. These were mostly bands that would see in large clubs or House of Blues type places. In past years the second stage has had bands like Anthrax, Body Count, Cannibal Corpse, Machine Head, etc. I get the feeling the Mayhem promoters aren't interested anymore

Slayer Appropriate as Headliner. JR Stood Out

by Jimvike on 7/28/15Jiffy Lube Live - Bristow

Can't beat that amount of bands for the price. Jungle Rot was best on side stage and Hell Yeah was excellent as a band on the main stage. Slayer showed why they are so accomplished.

    Slayer was amazing as always!

    by HITMAN19832006 on 7/28/15Xfinity Center - Mansfield

There were many bands and honestly too many. I thought Slayer, Shattered Sun, Sister Sin and King Diamond were amazing. An honorable mention would be Jungle Rot. However, the rest of the lineup left something to be desired. In particular, Code Orange was the worst act of the festival by far...they didn't show up to their set on time. When they did show up, it was a nightmare. The pantomime they performed on stage were pretty standard and unnecessary plus not in sync with the music. We in the audience were stunned by this almost Sharknado level performance. Then they demanded respect. Sworn In is an emo band. There I said it. I had no idea how they're on this tour. They had the bad luck of coming to a crowd still reeling from Code Orange. Telling us they didn't give a fuck if we liked them didn't help. Overall, not much metal for a supposed metal festival. Too many bad hardcore bands pretending but fooling no one.

Slayer was worth it, most the entire day, not so m

by Jonnymaglite on 7/28/15Xfinity Center - Mansfield

As always, slayer was downright amazing and it pretty much sounded like you were listening to their cd's, other highlights were whitechapel, thy art is murder and a band that I was never a fan of before but after seeing them live they were amazing HellYeah, other than those highlights the other 10+ bands were subpar at best, they used to setup 3 stages including the big open stage in the parking lot now the smaller stage in the woods is the 2nd stage because there is about 1/50th the amount of people there used to be at the event due to lack of decent bands on the roster, when slayer took stage about 1/3rd of the seats were occupied which was insulting because they were downright amazing, strongly recommend seeing slayer and whitechapel any time they play of you haven't but spending 10+ hours in the sun watching mediocre bands while fueling up on $11 hotdogs isn't the makeup of a fun day, half of the vendors at the center were closed due to lack of attendees

    Mayhem Mansfield

    by nothappy195 on 7/28/15Xfinity Center - Mansfield

due to low ticket sales the show was much smaller. the stage set up in the pine grove was ridiculous. in the main stage seating only 1/3 was filled. very sad. the lineup wasnt that great so maybe that is why. we left after 3 Slayer songs
