Great concert but disappointed with the conductor as had no interaction with the audience and no explanation of the pieces. Also, no props or any indication of the exotic nature of the compositions. Also my tickets went on sale for half price just after I purchased them!
I live near Kenosha, WI temporarily with a daughter and her family after my dear wife of 56 years passed related to Parkinson's Disease We had lived in Candlewick Lake for 13 years prior. We attended several concerts earlier, but when I saw the program with Scheherazade I had to come even though alone. The ushers were wonderful in conversation also. The music quality was better than anticipated and I had occasional tears of appreciation and joy. I once again had time to just look around at the entire auditorium as well. What amazing beauty everywhere. As a retired audio/video engineer I would say that your audio quality is also outstanding, totally understandable. The conductor seemed to have the entire Scheherazade memorized. That was amazing as well. (I would say he was sometimes a little too dramatic, and a little distracting sometimes). The wonderful skill of the musicians, especially throughout this composition, is remarkable and so much worth my necessary overnight stay. I signed onto your email notices so I'll be back I'm sure.
Both my husband and I were impressed with the talent we saw Sat night! The conductor, William Eddins was unbelievable and we would pay to see him again. We experienced his love for his vocation and witnessed his mastery in presentation. The orchestra was outstanding! Thank you RSO for bringing Scherazade venue to Rockford!
My sister & I attended & this is our favorite symphony. We have listened to this numerous times, but had never seen it performed live. It was incredible. I could have listened to it over & over. The guest conductor was great & so was the whole orchestra. The finale with the 1st violinist was perf
The performance was fantastic! The concert mistress is an extremely accomplished violinist; one of the best I’ve heard. The balance of sound was amazing. The principal bassoonist has some serious chops. The theatre is wonderful to be in and the seats are comfortable. The guest conductor and solo clarinetist were extremely enjoyable and the Q&A session after the performance was very interesting and informative; it gave the whole experience an intimate feel and humanized the people involved. I can’t wait to go back for another performance.
Was a fabulous show! had great seats too. ###A big negative was the ticket price. I went through ticketmaster and was charged an exorbitant amount. It didn't say on the original order how much they would cost, so I didn't know I was paying over $300 for four $25.00 seats! A big rip off!!!!!
The RSO is such a joy to watch preform, so passionate with the music. Love the local singers the joined.

What could be better than Rockford Symphony performing John Williams music? A fantastic, animated conductor and inclusion of local high school vocals! Simply one of the best concerts we've been to since reopening after the pandemic.
I play 1st Alto for a local volunteer band. Hearing the superb talent of this group was a real treat. Every aspect of music was on cue. Intonation, Rhythm and Dynamics among others revealed a very tight relationship between the players and conductor. Rockford is lucky to have this very special talent.
An enjoyable evening with very approachable program featuring works from Rodrigo and Tchaikovsky. Guest guitarist Daniel Boshoy was phenomenal, as was the entire second act--Symphony No. 4. This was our first time hearing the RSO, but we'll be back!
The Coronado is a great venue. Having it filled with holiday music played by this majestic Orchestra is amazing. If you are in the region, don't miss it. It doesn't get better than this!
The music and performances were wonderful. Liked the way the program was divided into two separate parts. Both were great in their own special way. We had a wonderful time
Parking was easy, staff checking requirements were professional and inviting, scanning tickets simple (my first experience using my phone). Ushers were very upbeat and helpful. Our seats (OR3 - row G) gave us good view of orchestra and excellent sound. Program was thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable. I would absolutely do this again. Thank you!
Cannot emphasize live orchestra enough. Brings to an existence of value to your sole as humanly possible, you should be proud of working to those achievements a very basic instrument of life. Seating at Coronado for 6’4” 230 lb men is tight which is why a star rating is missing.
Not only was the orchestra was stunning, the location itself was breathtaking!! This was one of the best performances I have seen, so much talent out there and so much passion for music. We arrived early and so glad we did, ushers and staff told us of the rich history of the building and it's legacy. To think the town was going to bulldoze this historical piece of architecture for a parking lot!!! I am so glad it is still here housing musical and Broadway performances for hopefully many generations to come. Will return again !
This was the first symphony I had went to and I'm glad it was Scottish Fantasy!! I had been listening to the playlist on Spotify for weeeeeks before the show and it sounded exactly the same. Stefan on the violin was incredible... I mean in-freaking-credible. To see it all in person was just indescribable! I can't wait for all the other RSO events. I've already bought tickets for Women Rock & Beethoven's Second!!! I am absolutely in love. It was just amazing!!!
The Coronado is the perfect setting for The Nutcracker! The guest performers from the Joffrey were superb and, I confess, moved me to tears with the beauty of their performance. The Rockford Symphony Orchestra was so wonderful! And the dancers of the Rockford Dance Company, as always, were great!
Start to finish a great performance. What else need I say?
The Rockford Symphony Orchestra performance on May 11, 2019 was an awesome experience. I traveled from Cleveland, Ohio and couldn’t have asked for a better time!! I actually saw both performances and was disappointed that I couldn’t see it again!! Great group of musicians!!
